Is it easy for noobs to get into?

It depends on the server you're in, but overall WoW is surely easy to get into. I personally don't play for very long and I almost feel as if I know all there is about my classes. Blizzard really made the game easy to use and with all the information available on the internet, I don't think you'll have any problems with learning how to play it.

Don“t make your first character on a pvp world.

The other advice is just to level by questing and not trying to do anything ultra fast. This will help you learn your character so when you do hit 90 you will be able to participate in groups and not gett kicked out for being bad with your class.

The game is very easy to learn, and you will be almost completely caught up to everyone else in a few months.

It's definitely easy to get into, but it's gonna take a while for you to understand how everything works, how to gear properly, your proper spell rotations, things like that. But the community is usually okay about helping people if you ask questions. Also there are tons and tons of websites that can help you learn.
But like people are saying, it's easier now than it's ever been. Back when the game first started it was really hard and you had to be truly dedicated if you want to succeed.
Basic tips, learn what stats are appropriate for your class (for example you may thing you want Strength on a hunter, you don't. You want Agility), and never buy gear from vendors that have common rarity (i.e the text is white).

If you start on a PvE server and have a couple of friends to guide you around, it's about as noob-proof as it gets. Especially since Mists of Pandaria, the game mechanics and systems have been streamlined to the lowest possible point. You really can't get any simpler than that.

And with the dungeon/raid finder you can just jump in and play the game without ever really needing a guild or a "pro" team of people you know personally to get into more of the endgame content.

It was hard back when I started playing. Getting the gold together for a mount without AH was a little bit of a bitch. Nowadays though it's super casualized. They made it easier for new people to try and build up the customer base again.

When I first started to play it a couple years ago, I had no problems getting into the game, it was pretty easy, and the "tutorial" was helpful too. Nowadays it's even easier.

If you compare the WoW learning curve to EVE online, then I would say it definitely is easy to get into. The abilities and other aspects are introduced slowly as you level, so that you're not over-bombarded with incredible amounts of information at once.

Yes, WoW is probably the easiest MMORPG to get into, you won't regret it either. After the newer updates they have made the tutorials even more clear and newbie friendly. Don't be intimidated by it's depth, you'll get the hang of it extremely fast. :)

I'll tell you this, I once knew a guy who somehow got to level 50 without knowing how to set up his abilities. He had his level 1 or so abilities and that was that, he was under the impression there wasn't anything else to the game. I assumed he came from LoL XD

Wow is definitely a game where you'll be okay to jump right into, even if you have no real idea of mmorpgs or anything like that. They've made an effort over the years to make it easy for new players to become acquainted, at a level that's unprecedented in mmorpgs. The only thing to be wary of is when you pick a server. Avoid picking anything with PVP in the realm type, because high level players can indeed swoop in and kill you in certain zones(most).

It's pretty easy to get going if you're completely new. I didn't have any issues the two times I had to start from scratch and I was actually pretty surprised. I thought I'd get overwhelmed since there would be so many higher level players, but it really wasn't that bad.

World of warcraft made it incredibly easy to get into. I would recommend getting referred by a friend so you can level up extremely fast.

I agree. The past 1-2 years Blizzard has been working hard to make the game more appealing for new players and casual players and I believe they are doing quite a decent job. As you said the recruit a friend feature is great for fast leveling, but the downside is that it's restricted for some contries, mine being one of those.
Still even normal leveling is rather fast and compared to other MMORPGs I believe that WoW is the best when it comes to questing. In WoW you don't get punished for skipping a quest like a lot of other games do. It's very clear where you have to go. There are a lot of dungeons to do and PvP to do while you level so you can diversify things and not get bored doing it. There are a lot of players(depending on the realm you choose of course) to interact with. Once you get max level it's fairly easy to get geared up and start raiding the current raid content. Overall they've done magnificent job in that aspect.

There are tons of guides right now. Maybe the best thing to do is get that magazine that has all the information to get you started. I don't remember the name but it's a magazine they release for every major game with walkthroughs, guides, facts, ...

It's 10x easier than it used to be, go for it. Join a normal or pve server if you're worried about getting killed by higher players.

Oh Yeah! It's really easy to get into and the higher levels won't be pwning you unless you start off in a PvP realm which is all fair game. You will get broken in gently and as I do is rush my alts to max level and not worry about much else wasting time, then the real fun begins. I don't much like questing so much as I do end game content, but I'm all PvP really.

WoW is probably one of the most newbie friendly MMO's out there. It very quick and easy to get to the level cap through solo play and it doesn't take long to gear up once you do reach the end game. If you want to do PvP then just join random battlegrounds and you'll find that there's plenty of less skilled people on there.

My friend and I started as complete noobs together (we both had played other MMO's though). We discovered the whole game on our own with the help of some online friends.
I would say it's quite easy to get around, and there's a lot of information online if you ever get stuck.

The game is designed to be easy to get in to. If it weren't they wouldn't be a sustainable player base to replace those who have left the game. The servers are not all the same - you can start out on a server where you can't be attacked unless you enter enemy territory, or attack another player. In other works it is safe for a low level player just starting out. Once you are more experienced in the game you an then make a character on a different server if you want more combat.
