Is it easy for noobs to get into?

If I remember correctly, they made it much easier for new players to get started a while back. Some people don't seem to like that, but if it means more players to level up higher and enjoy the game sooner, then the better. It's just a game after all.

 

Yes and no.

Yes: It is, technically a very easy game to get your fingers in right now. When you buy the wow installer, you get everything except for the latest expansion pack, warlords of draenor, which you have to buy separately. Once you get warlords of draenor though, you get something called a "level 90 boost". This gives you the right to make any character, then turn them into a level 90. The current max level is 100, so you can experience all the new content, shoulder to shoulder with other noobs, as well as world of warcraft vets.
If your character is at least level 65 (if memory serves) when you use the boost, it will boost your professions as well. If you are level one when you use the boost, you can raise you professions from 1 to max in exclusively draenor content, due to other changes.


No: One reason, the community. The community can be so toxic and volatile, that it will scare most noobs away. A lot of players just expect you to know how to play, and if your not familiar with mmorpgs, then you are sol. Players willing to teach others how to play (like me) are few and far between.

 

I dont' know it really depends. I think a lot of the fun now is playing with people that you have played with over the years, so I think it might be hard to fully enjoy the game seeing as most people have already figured everything out.

 

Very easy. Blizzard has simplified a lot of mechanics during the last few years. There is also a very in-depth tutorial that shows up as you play for the first time, so that is very handy too.

If you want to get right into the action, you should know you get a free level 90 character boost with the purchase of the expansion, Warlords of Draenor (all other expacs are free now).

 

You make a good point. The tutorial is extremely helpful if the person is new to wow, or mmorpgs in general. Does the tutorial still show up on a level 90 boosted toon?

 

It is extremely easy to get into and play at a lower level of skill. Mastering the game and being great at it is a whole different story though. If you like it enough and decide to become one of the best it will be difficult, but if you simply want to have fun you should have no problem.

 

WoW has been so dumbed down in the past few years that it's laughably easy. There's no denying that. Even players that have never played an MMO can jump into this game with ease.
