Is it worth it to start now?

I would say yes. Wow is really getting back to its roots, and with the recent boom of players due to the new expansion, and the expansion coming with a free level 90 boost (max level in game is 100), right now would be the best time to play catch up. All you need to start, is a decent computer, world of warcraft, and the new expansion, warlords of draenor. All other expansions are added in free. It is really extremely fun.

If you have ever seen the anime, sword art online two, it really can be like that. A group of friends having fun and going on dungeons together.

I don't know, I mean you would have to start up on servers that host the older versions and play the story up to the current or at least up until Wotlk which, in my personal opinion is one of the last greatest expansions there are. Its what I do, I still play Wrath to this day on servers that run it because its awesome.

Well as was mentioned, there's the free trial, so you can try it out, risk-free, to see if you'd enjoy playing it. If you do enjoy the lower-level gameplay you can then decide if you want to buy the Warlords of Draenor expac or not, and even if you want to boost your character up to level 90 in order to fast forward to all the new content.

Personally, I'd say it's worth playing because I still think it's a lot of fun. But don't take my word for it ... go try it!

It has never been easier to start playing World of Warcraft. Not only do you have access to an unlimited, up to level 20 trial, but also to a great tutorial that teaches you how to play while you level up for the first time. Also, if you decide to buy the game and its expansion pack, Warlords of Draenor, you get a free level 90 boost for one character, so you can get right into the middle of the action.

I agree with the others. Play the free trial, see if you like it. I recommend the tauren race as their beginning area is beautiful :D.

Reviving a thread that's been dead for almost a year is always a smart idea.

It's definitely worth it to start now. The game still has a fairly big player base and you will easily find people to do quests with and just have fun with. I regularly see new players joining, so I don't see you having any difficulty starting out.

This game still has a long way to go. Looking at the number of subscribers, it certainly seems like that. So yeah, I would say get into it if you want. You are not going to regret it. It's an amazing experience.

If you have enough time to spare, and you still have interest in it, I say go for it. Get a trial account and play. However, I have heard many instances of addictions to WOW. Remember that it's a game, and your real life self should always take priority.
