    Sorry, but this is just not true, with almost every expansion they increase the rate of exp gain for previous expansions by a lot. The amount of time it used to take to go from 1-60 was far more than it takes to go from 1-90 today. If you have heirlooms, it is barely an hour a level from 20-90, and 1-20 can be done in a few hours.
