Heh, actually I was referencing a well-known parable believed to have originated in India, in which a group of blind men are asked to describe an elephant. They each touch the nearest body part - trunk, tusk, ear - and when they compare notes, find they are in total disagreement. More here:

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_men_and_an_elephant

We have a similar problem when trying to talk about Metro in piecemeal form. Last year we showed action - everyone got nervous that we'd gone all 'COD' on you. This year we're showing more story and survival horror. And I bet newcomers will wonder where all the shooting is...

On a side note, the story of the blind men, and the problem of multiple perspectives inspired the title of Gus Van Sant's 2003 film 'Elephant'

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant_(2003_film)

Maybe I'll stay away from Buddhist parables in future ;¬)

    Welcome aboard :D

I wasn't aware of the parable . I just found it odd that the genre of the game is Survival Horror and you did a grand job explaining some of the mechanics throughout the interview so I didn't know how that analogy fitted in.

Like the game "I am Alive" I understand what survival based games entail. As a fan of of 2033 I would of liked to hear what improvements and new things have been added to the game such as improvements to AI whilst taking a stealth approach; newer kinds of mutants etc etc.

Will we be having any Multiplayer news at E3? :p

The gameplay we saw looked great, 4A have done a fantastic job. If only the upload was in 720p we would have appreciated the Metro world better. :)

Last but not least, I can see where you're coming from with trying to explain the game to different audiences. The PS3,Wii crowd won't have a clue what Metro LL is about whilst us xbox and PC players already know as we've played it before.

Huw, good to see you here! If you remember, I'm the guy that annoyed you via the Metro Wiki's twitter account for Last Light related info... I regret nothing!

Action is always necessary in these kinds of games, just look at Metro 2033: levels like Frontline, Outpost and Black Station may (or may not) require some "action". So as long as it isn't overdone, I'm perfectly content with it.

In regards to your PS3 problem, I have an idea. Port Metro 2033 to PS3 near Last Light's release and include it in a special "throw-back" edition of Last Light. You can charge more money for the "Special Edition" and the buyer gets to experience the original Metro. Just an idea.

    Seeya around Huw!

    Thanks for share with us!

As for airplane images, it seems it gives a hint that ghosts may be there again. Thoughts?

They won't reach silent hill's level or dead space 1's level any time sooner :p

  7. Dead Space and Silent Hill in once sentence? Dead Space comes across like it was developed by someone who knows that horror films exist and may even have seen posters for a couple of them but doesn't quite grasp the principals.

I've heard people praise how scary it is, but really all it does is startle, and that's not difficult.

Dead Space is not a horror game by any means. It's a third-person shooter with an infinite amount of monster closets.

  12. Did 4A Games affinity to actually talk with community on forums rub off to THQ people as well?
