I could put on my gas mask, some metro-ish clothes, my replicas of HKG36C, Black AK-47 and Dan Wesson revolver, take a picture of it and post on the forum?

Who's interested in cosplay? Most diehard fans. Which will tell you something like this:

You are cosplaying a Russian citizen from Russia.

Do you realize that it's next to impossible to get a G36 rifle or any of it's variants in RF due to the following problems which exclude it from a list of weapons that can possibly exist in a post-apocalypse Moscow:
a. Any and all full-auto firearms are prohibited with civilians in Russia.
b. RF army service rifle is AK-74M (Due to be replaced with AN-94 if they ever resolve financial problems).

Even if one got his hands on this firearm, there are several crippling flaws that send G36 into a trash bin:
a. 20 years of abuse.
b. No spare parts for repairs.
c. "Obscure" caliber used only in import versions of russian firearms.

Ta-da.

 

Whom here isn't a die hard fan? Is it perhaps you? And you don't really need to be a die hard fan to like cosplay. There is other people too who might like it. People who want for just a moment to be someone else and share that moment.

And with the guns. Do you really belive that those guns are real, full auto, weapons? Because they probably not. They are most likely air-soft of some sort. Tho it might be single shot replicas if so it's even better.

 

Lower expectations = Higher gratitude. I can tell just by reading that one post of yours, Komodo, that I was definitely more thrilled, excited and impressed by Metro than you were, and it will most likely be the same with Last Light.

Look, cosplay implies depiction of a character or an idea. Improbable details, such as an out of place firearm, aren't helping. A disagreeing voice is one of the most valuable things to have in a creative environment, but apparently you want to stay in a self-perpetuating circle of unflinching reassurance and back-patting.

I'm okay with that, just tell you don't want criticism in advance next time.

 

Could put it this way: I'm aware that I'm ignorant, but I'm surely more satisfied as ignorant than to be picky and perfect.
But that's a more personal way of choosing how to be, actually, which is irrelevant to this thread
All I want to say, is just that you can be as picky and perfect as you want, but don't make that ruin other ignorant people's satisfaction. I know myself how hard it is to not tell someone ignorant about something obvious that they can't see, but it's something that one has to avoid to not create conflicts. I know you're not trying to rant down on us or anything, I do. Just sayin'

I have created a cosplay costume in my head that I doubt I will ever be able to put together due to cost and stuff. I have spent much time on teh internet finding the items and making sure they are actually purchasable in case I decide to save up and maybe buy them individually.

 

Getting to cosplay is so awesome.

In winters it gets cold so even if I walked out with a gas mask and stuff minus the guns the probability of the Police taking me away is 99.99%. -_-

 

I just have to wear what I normally do, maybe wash up a bit .
