Metro: Last Light Bugs, problems and glitches

I didn't. But even if I removed the controller and press E on keyboard (the interact key; analogous to X on controller), the controls still freeze (the only thing I can do is look around).

Just experienced a RAGE-QUIT-worthy crash on the PS3.

On the "Venice" level, walking around the docks, the game just froze. No response to any controls, or the PS3 button, nothing.

Thankfully the system restarted with a "soft reset" - the button, not by pulling out the power cable. Which at least avoids the 20-minute "filesystem check".

Unfortunately, when I got back into the game,

IT LOST MY ENTIRE SAVE DATA!!!!

As in, I have to start the game FROM THE BEGINNING.

OH. MY. F**KING GOD.

15 chapters into the game, and I have to REDO FROM SCRATCH.

Um. Thanks, Sony and/or A4 Games. Making a backup of savedata was such a big issue?

I see the problem has been brought up multiple times, but I'm going to speak up in hopes that the issue gains awareness.

Survivalist (Ranger Hardcore, XB360) achievement didn't pop for me. Also Weapon Smith popped without actually installing all the possible weapon mods. I had only purchased maybe 5, and had only viewed no more than 75% of the possible weapon mods. Not much complaint on the latter glitch, but the Survivalist glitch is experience altering for me. I look forward to my achievements.

 

Update: Even though I have the online backup feature enabled, checking the "Saved Game Data Utility" shows a corrupt file in online storage, and the local storage only shows the new/blank gamedata.

So, this thing crashed, overwrote the save with garbage data, AND uploaded the trashed save to the online storage.

Same issue here. I've check numerous forums across the web and the general consensus is that it is currently unobtainable. Even more frightening, since Microsoft requires developers to pay to patch their games, it's possible we may never see this fixed due to developer issues.

 

I So Know what you mean and the same exact thing that happened to you happened to me. I had three more chapters before beating the game. I have
the PS3 version as well. It froze and the controls were not responsive. I did
a soft Reset. I reloaded the Game and all my Progress Was GONE. I am so
#$##$# to say the least. I can't even look at the game right now.

I played through the game on Ranger Hardcore, and got all the achievements to it. I was playing on Steam for PC, and it worked fine for me, except for some minor glitches and bugs. :s

 

Hi Guys,

After trying to get LL running flawless I am really pissed now.

First I experienced really low FPS win nVidia driver. After changing to BETA it was betwer but I only got max 30FPS with horrible Frame Drops.

I found a solution. My Logitech G19 caused low FPS, better Logitech G Series Software caused it. Now LL was really nice, everything at max except SSAA gave me about 70FPS.

Now after reboot I stuck again at 30 FPS with Frame Drops and I don´t know what to do. I terminated every unnecessary task but nothing helps.

Has anybody an idea?

I feel for you guys it happened to me,

I got to Venice just a had a lovely lap dance 5 bullets it costs lol shot a couple rats had a drink couldnt walk straight etc anyway I went it to a door following this guy then the sound went off couldn't here anything so I went to the menu page then it crashed, freezed on my ps3 so I turned it off. When I went back to the game there was no existence I had ever played it just said new game no continue and no chapters had been completed and I looked at my saved data and it says corrupted data so it looks like I have to do it all over again about 10 hours down the bloody drain absolute joke. I just don't think I can do it all over again. This has pi**ed me off and ruined a good game for me just be careful people.

Did you happen to miss the part where this is happening on the PS3? As in, there is NO OPTION to manually backup the data. The system handles it.

And, even if I could somehow PREDICT that it would trash the savegame - it didn't even give me a CHANCE to back it up. Because it AUTOMATICALLY uploaded the trashed save to the online backup - didn't ask for confirmation to overwrite - and AUTOMATICALLY created a new savegame starting at Chapter 0 (Introduction).

So, please tell me WHEN exactly was I supposed to "back it up". I'd love to hear it.

I've NEVER had a problem with any other game on the PS3. Dead Space 1, 2, Extraction, and 3. RAGE & RAGE DLC Pack. Bioshock 1, 2, and Infinite. Plants VS Zombies. Cuboid. Far Cry 1 & 2. Uncharted. Doom. And so on, and so on... 400+ savegames from a huge variety of publishers, in a variety of genres, without a SINGLE problem.

And now, here's one game which has an EXTREMELY fragile savegame system, where 1 glitch wipes it out - and destroys the backups. AUTOMATICALLY. WITHIN A SPLIT SECOND. WITHOUT ANY CHANCE OF USER INTERVENTION. (Caps Lock is to drive home the point that there was NOTHING I could do).

Myself, Darkrose2222, and Ps4lover are reporting this CRITICAL issue, it's a game-breaking issue, it's not an inconvenience but a goddamn RAGE-INDUCING problem... and instead of contributing something useful, or at least commiserating, or, hey, here's a novel idea, not saying anything if you don't have anything to contribute, what we get is a snide commentary along the lines of "it's all your own fault".

What. The. Hell. Man?

 

Piece of advice for PS3 players:

If MLL crashes/freezes - DO NOT START THE GAME again. If you do, it will create a new "BLANK" savegame, and you will definitely lose your progress.

Go into "Save Game Utility", and check both the local storage (hard drive) and the Online Storage for the MLL savegame file.

If it has the "M" icon, chances are it's OK. The corrupt one on my system had the "broken lightning bolt" icon, and a "character-soup" name.

You can use the utility to copy the savegames to/from online storage, and to a memory stick.

Which is what I'll be doing every couple of chapters from now on...

 

black screen

I think tessellation on high settings gives me black screen and with that comes forced reboot because I can't see or hear anything . windows key / right / right / up / enter , will not reboot PC . Only Metro last light causes this black screen lock up issue . Not sure if its Nvidia related or the game itself ?

This is such a Troll Comment. I mean he makes it sound this is a small
thing and were angry over a dumb Thing.

I was so close to beating the game and then Boom everything went to hell.

We pay 60 bucks for the Game and there should not be a game breaking
Bug such as this one.

This is not something during the editing process that could have been over looked.

How do we know something we don't know ???

I don't expect a game to Crash when I spent 60 bucks on it.

I should not have to take time backing up my data it not my job.

I am still Quite Upset over this. I am going to replay the game from the Start.
It a good Game. But I am not sure I am going to enjoy it quite as much after

I have never in my Life had a game Crash like this and Frankly this game was
not edited enough. I won't believe that no one knew about this Bug it not
something you can over look during Editing.

I contacted both and they say there aware of the Issue. But sadly if a patch comes out we all will be done with the game more than likely.

 

I Dislike Auto Save because of this. I usually like to have more then one save File for my games just in case. Instead of having to start the game from Scratch I would only have
to redo a couple of chapters not all of them. It has become such a huge Headache just to play a F.cking game it should not be this hard or time consuming. So I am going to start to play the game again but if it happens again I am done with this game.
