It's good to know that there's Skaara to join any heated discussion and calm everyone down before the shit hits the fan. Btw, I'm not sure about pirating it. I honestly don't want to support this type of marketing, but pirating stuff in the UK is much more risky than it is back at home or in any other Eastern European country. I really hope that THQ change their mind so I won't be forced to do anything that could potentially lead to me getting locked up (as there's no way I'd ever be able to pay the ridiculous fines they have for pirating, which is why I haven't tried it before).

Truthfully, I don't want the MGRs. If I can, I'm most likely going to give them away on reddit or something. But the AKS-74u, I'm looking fowards to. I've been waiting for that gun for the longest time. To me, it seems like the perfect gun for the Metro universe. I'm praying that it is not over powered, if it is I am not going to use it when playing for real. If I'm just fucking around on easy mode because I'll get bored, then I will use it. I'll just run around shooting random crap with it. But seriously, it better not be too badass.

Obviously, you are full of money. Only because the mainstream genres of videogames sell at absurd prices like 60$ for a game, it doesn't mean that that is right.

I am actually not full of money. I just happen to get enough money by the time of a good game comes out. It took me many months to save up to buy the limited edition of Halo 4 when it came out. I passed so many other games in the process.

So has THQ or 4A replied to any of you who may have possibly sent out emails/PM's?

Dear everyone raging here about this. A high-end collectors edition costs a lot of money and development time. THQ just got screwed over with HumbleBundles recent pack. If you all haven't heard, THQ is on the verge of tanking. If you have a problem with it, go out and purchase a bunch of their games. THQ has received little to no support from their fans for the last 2 years and are suffering as a company because of it. Therefore, they are incapable of doing anything past what is canon. Where some of you see this L.E. as insulting, it should give you a little insight on what THQ has to do to make some money. Yes, it doesn't cost anything, but added goodies = better advertisement regardless if people feel the item in question should be available with the Vanilla Copy in the first place.

You do know that THQ stock went up 40% after that humble bundle, right?

They also didn't receive all the money it made. A majority of it went to Charity over THQ themselves, $5.73 average buying price is absolutely abysmal, and even if they did receive all the money from it, it still would've been less than the profit they expected to receive from Dark Siders 2. Regardless of stock value increase, unless people are putting money upfront to THQ, they're still going to fall and it's going to be really sad.

EDIT: I'd also like to note that even if they received a 40% stock increase, it doesn't give them a larger budget to do anything special. THQ is still on the ropes on very close to falling off. They can't afford to do anything super special, period. The only way THQ would be capable of doing this is if they received a $200,000,000 donation, advertised the hell out of MLL and their next up and coming title, whichever it may be, and sell atleast 6 million units for both games.

What a wonderful world this would be if companies would adopt the same altruistic mindset as some talking wallets full of disposable income gamers on this board, instead of biting the hand that feeds them with questionable business practices. When that world materializes, I will eat my own boogers.

If Joe sees this thread, I'd be surprised if he ever posts here again. Not only has he been sworn at but a moderator has said that they are thinking of pirating the game to show their disgust towards the Limited Edition.

But if the question has been posted in the "Ask the THQ/4A staff questions" thread then they may respond to the question there. Otherwise you can ask on the official 'EntertheMetro' forums.

A 40% increase is a lot for them. They, in fact, need to keep pushing the fact that they are one of the more reasonable publishers, which is now gone. Maybe they can't do anything "super special," but they can't afford to sell out with this kind of pre-order bonuses either.

I don't blame them. Rubbish like this encourages and justifies piracy. See, what publishers fail to understand is that by pulling a stunt like this they actually punish the legitimate buyer and not the pirate.

I never said that I will. I said that I possibly will, if the situation is correctly and definitely so that there will never be a Ranger Hardcore unless you pre-purchase the limited edition. If that certainly is the case, then I will concider to pirate it because I doubt that I will budge for the hasty, unreasonable and wrong move that they made.

Despite this, I'm not certain that that is the case. Rumors spread fast, and for all I know, this might all be a rumor and nothing more. I don't want to make any hasty, unreasonable and wrong move , to quote myself.

To be honest, I couldn't care less for THQ. All I want is for Last Light to get released and 4A Games to stay alive. It's not that I hate THQ - I also don't want any of their employees to lose their jobs. So: as a group of working people, I wish the best of luck to those at THQ. As a company, I just want THQ to survive long enough for Last Light to be released and don't care what happens after that as long as 4A stays alive and none of the people working at THQ get screwed over.

They were one of the better publishers, but the stuff they pulled with the online pass for Space Marine (and now this) is really crap. I don't have anything against Joe; he is just another person trying to do his job as best he can. He hasn't wronged us in any way, unless any of you wanted him to lose his job just so he could tell us the truth. I'd be surprised if none of you expected this. THQ is on its last legs - they are putting a lot of their resources into Last Light, in hope of it being the hit that gets them back on their feet. It is obvious that they were going to screw us over (regardless of what the good folks at 4A wanted), in order to acquire a larger audience.

That's how capitalism works: as long as games are products, then we will always be just talking wallets. And in this case we are a minority, so we cannot convince THQ to see our point of view, because we're not were all the cash is at. All those newcomers that have never played the previous game (or read the book) are where all the cash is at.
