    You get the AKSU and the 100 MGR at the start of the game if you are playing in Ranger Mode. After that, you can choose to use it or to drop it on the ground and play even more hardcore :).

    This might not be the right place to ask but it is related to pre-orders. Id just like to know some details about the GameStop pre-order bonus RPK. I'd just like to know if it is like the AKS-74U and is difficulty specific and if it's available early on. Oh and will both the RPK and AKS-74U be customizable/modable like the other weapons?

    Does anyone have a list of the UK retailers offering the pre-order bonuses?
    So far the only one I can see offering it is Steam. (Looking for PC version)

    It is using an intermediate cartridge, so yes.

    All firearms using the 5.45x39mm in metro are technically ARs, even though Pavel from the Armory in VDNKh calls it a submachine gun.

    In real life an AKS-74U is classified as a carbine do to the short barrel length and the usage of a rifle caliber round.

    Cool beans, but there is a crippling flaw with that theory. Its name is:

    AK - Kalashnikov automatic rifle
    S - folding stock
    74 - model 1974
    U - shortened.

    Moreover, an english version of a russian page for "automatic rifle" is "assault rifle".

    So hey, let's use the firearm naming conventions of the country it originated from?
