Metro Roleplaying part 1

we were walking for quite some time now and in complete silence. Until we saw a flicker of light in the darkness. it gre larger. larger. until it was quite a large light from a step up. we reached the hansa station of Novoslobodskaya. Everybody catched up and a guard approached us calmy. Apperantly this tunnel HAS been used frequently because he didnt seem surprised to see humans in such a disolate place. I greeted him and showed him my HANSA pass. He let me and everybody else through. We were in Hansa Territory. "Have you ever been in Hansa?" i asked Steven.

 

"No, I've lived most of my life at Exhibition... at least, until the Dark Ones showed up and everything went to hell. But I've heard of Polis, and the other stations which have real lights, and some form of government." Yeah, I had heard of them, legends from the metro traders, nothing more tangible or real than the stories of two-headed mutants. But now I was inside the Hansa, the last remnants of civilization.

 

"Yes its quite a sight for someone who lived in a very small station," i announced. It was still very early and everybody was waking up. "We should go to the station and get some tickets to Oktyabarskaya station, well be taking a train. its quite small tho and costs only 5 cartriges per person." we went to the ticketbooth and i showed the seller my "hansa" pass and said something into the mans ear. They let me pass right away without paying. I laughed while the others looked at me with a jealous look. "comon now, the train will be leaving in 20 minutes and is about a 2 hour ride. The next train is at 9 am (it was 7 30 am)."

 

So,who else is in this group? Just for reference's sake.

"So, they're bringing trains back? Like in the old days? Do you think... do you think one day the Metro will be normal again, just a mode of transport, not some dangerous place where we eke out our existence?" I couldn't really believe it, since the Metro was all I knew, and the surface... well, my first experience of it (two days ago) hadn't been very promising.

 

"Yes Hansa does have trains and are the only ones that do," i pronounced, "But i do have hope that humanity will rise once again..." we sat down and waited for the train to arrive. 10 minutes later it arrived. A train, blue of color and longer then i have everseen arrived. We got onto it. And there were only 5 poeple onboard the first wagon out of 7. It was gonna be a long ride to the station. Good time to talk...

Do Hansa have trains in any of the books? I've read 2033 and I can't remember anything about the Hansa having access to working trains. I'd rather keep this accurate to the books & games. If 2034 doesn't mention that either, let's go for a handcar instead.

 

The "train" in the Last Light trailer is Hansa, I'm pretty sure.

Dark tunnels, wheel rattle, and the smell of death. That's how our journey to the Nazi commander began. But our goal seemed closer now.

 

"how about u guys tell me about ur selves. something that i dont know? then i can answer any questions u guys ask."

yes there were trains in hansa mentioned in 2034 and the game metro 2033 too.

 

Okay, thanks for clearing this up for me guys.

I turned to Boris and spoke, "Well, what would you like to know?"

 

"Anything ou want. Basically tell me about your self. you mission. were your from. etc." i said turning to him.

 

"Well, I guess you're right. We are going on a mission together, yet we barely know each other. All of us should say something about themselves so that we can trust each other during the completion of our task. Alright, I'll start us off: I was born on the surface, I'm half Russian/half Polish." (not really, I'm just Polish, but my character is) "I was just a teenager when it all happened... I remember I was one of the last ones to make it to my nearest metro station; my family was running before me and I had tripped on the way. Before I got up, I could already hear the explosions of bombs falling in the distance and there was one heading for the entrance to the station. I ran as fast as I could. Thankfully, once my family got to the entrance of the metro, they urged everyone else to keep the gates open just a little longer so I could make it." I looked down at my feet for a few seconds, recalling the sight of my home being bombarded from up high.

Then I went on to continue with my story: "It was hard settling in the metro tunnels, but eventually we found a nice place at a friendly station. Well, I mean “nice” for the standards of living in a metro. My father quickly worked his way up the ranks, thanks to his leadership skills. It was still just a few years after the blast and I was only just becoming an adult then, when my family was already one of the most important ones in our station. My father was the commander of guards and my mother was a guard too. My family was that of a fighter's so, as expected, I started combat training very early - at the age of 16. One day our station was attacked by infantrymen of the Fourth Reich..." Once again, I turned away from my Comrades and there were several seconds of silence.

"My father was out by the 100th meter, looking out for danger as he did every one day in three days. He was a great soldier; the Nazis must have been trained in stealth... He was one of the first men to get killed... But my father and the few guards who tried to hold the bastards off; they gave everyone at the station enough time to prepare. I was a good shot with any weapon back then already, but I had never killed humans before. I didn't know what to do. My mother was the second of my family to fall. She fought bravely, but there were too many of them. I was standing next to her when her skull was being repeatedly penetrated by bullets coming from the revolver of a fascist officer. Before I could act, I was knocked out by another soldier." I continued, whilst wiping a single tear that was dripping down my cheek.

"Sometime later, I woke up. My head was bleeding but I was lucky enough to survive the impact of a melee hit to the head from a weapon's stock. The station was full of bodies, everywhere around me there were dead people. My station was known for accepting people from all nationalities - without a doubt, that was the reason why it was attacked. I had only walked a few steps forward, to find my sister. She was only sixteen years old, yet they didn't spare even her. She was raped and badly beaten, crying. After we embraced each other making sure that we both were alive and well enough to run, we made our way into the south tunnel. We ran for around thirty minutes before we heard a gunshot aimed in our direction, realizing that the Nazis must have headed onward instead of going back where they came from... we had picked the wrong way."

"Before I could act, my sister was dead, lying face-down in a pool of her own blood - her soft flesh was penetrated by numerous bullets. I ran ahead, in blind rage, tearing the killer apart with my knife. I then quickly slashed my way through the others, using stealth and disorientation. When I got to the officer, I beat him to death with my own bare hands. It was then that I realized the rotten cancer of the Fascist Reich, which ravaged through the Metro like a plague, had to be stopped before it could spread; before it could take the lives of other men, women, children and even animals. Since then, I've been exterminating Nazi patrols, officers, outposts and camps. It has been 15 years and I have become infamous in the stations allied with the Fourth Reich. If it wasn't for the rise of the Reds in the metro, who gave the Nazi pricks a new throat to chew on, I would have been killed." I paused for a moment again, "So, my past has pretty much explained why I agreed to join you on this mission without hesitation. There's nothing left for me in life and this assignment is perfect. If I am to die holding a knife at the neck of the Fourth Reich, then that is how it shall be and I couldn't ask for a better death."

"Alright, now that I've shared the details about me, I'll gladly listen to the tales of others." I gave the group a friendly smile.

 

Woah thats hardcore i already told u guys my story so ill let the other talk

 

In my seat, I was sitting, close enough to hear the words coming out of the mouths of the group in the rear end of the traincart. Four other unknown persons were sitting further in front of the cart, spreaded around in each their seat. Wolf's sorrowing story touched a part deep within my soul. The train trip hadn't lasted for long, but yet a couple of hours were to pass. The faded light inside the cart threw our shadows around in the cart, and out onto the concreed walls being so close to the train on the outside of it.

 

I looked at Wolf. "I'm sorry, Wolf. Damn, you must really hate the nazis..." I couldn't think of anything to say, everything sounded fake and stupid. We all sat there, not really looking around, everyone sunk deep in their own thoughts.

"Well", I began, "I don't have a past, not anymore. My memories are gone... just snatches remain, like my mother's face, and my father's gun... and I think I had a brother. But the Dark Ones destroyed my memory. And, well, the last thing I remember was running out of a dark tunnel, pulling on the trigger of my empty kalash." I winced. No, I remembered more... the things in the tunnel, the terror, the screams, the ghostly mutants which were gathering down there. But would I tell these people? They would just laugh. But the Metro would find out one day... I just hoped I could escape.

 

its been a hour since we left. and hour remained till we got there. i was ready. "ok guys listen up the officer is supposedly wearing a grey jacket with blue pants," i pronounced. "u find i him. u tell me and we follow him silently. whenever were in a quite area u guys shoot the legs ONLY with a silencer. Then we'll.....well interogate him. We might actually get to university today. offcourse if u guys are willing to come with me." before i got the chance to finish the train stopped with a loud jerk. i nearly fell off the seat. Apperantly there was something blocking the tunnel and we were gonna go in reverse back to the nearest station, which was Krasnopresnenskaya station. I asked if we can get off the train and the engineer, looking at me, allowed us to. "Come on guys," i exclaimed. Wolf came close to me and i told him that i know a detour to Kievskaya on the surface. itd be way faster then waiting for the cleaning of the tunnel. or to go around. it was 2 pm already. "I dont think were gonna make it to University today," i said with a dissapointed look.

 

Before the men were to rise from their seats, I stood up slowly and walked to the back of the cart. I stopped in front of them. They were all looking up at me, suspiciously, as if they thought I was about to attack them. Standing there so tall, I said "Greetings" loudly to get their attention.

 

Lol I got alot to read now, especially with Bamuls nice story! xD
Anyway, Im confused on where I am atm. either Im with you guys, or Im sitting somewhere else on this train. Help? xP

 

Well, you have to jump your character into the story somehow. Right now is not the best time since I'm doing so myself But maybe after, or while doing the mission, you can jump in with your character?

 

Well Im already in the story, but where am I on the train?? it's going to be pretty difficult to jump in again. I can also say that I left you guys on the last station doing my own mission?

 

ur on a train with us and we getting off because the tunnel is blocked. and dreadylocks is gonna introduce himself finnaly. haha
