I got my S10 gasmask over my face and slung the P90 off of my backpack before I climbed up, after Boris. I was not looking forward to what was about to be done, but I was prepared for anything. I began climbing faster when Boris opened the hatch and the light flowed down at me.

I stepped out onto the concrete floor of the entrance building. It took us about 13 minutes to get to the surface. It was cold, windy, and miserable. As always. I waited for everyone else to catch up to me as i made sure my ak worked fine. It was unusually silent and this area of the city didnt have many mutants. It had some. But not a lot. Maybe thats one of the reasons why the nazis chose to meet here. I looked down the escalator and an image floated past my eyes...................St. Petersburg. When i was a kid i used to travel in the St Petersburgh Metro with family and friends..............

I joined Boris, and took a position behind some cover. I was never going to be caught off-guard again. Three of us had been attacked and wounded, and I hadn't been ready. My presumption and cocky self-confidence could have cost us our lives. I would never let these men down. They were my friends, almost my brothers. I had no family, and so I would protect them instead. To the death.

The sight of the surface cleansed my mind of any irrelevant thoughts... I was ready to kill once again.

Before we moved much farther, I shouted to my companions as loud as I could through the mask's cover, just in case, "Don't wander off too far! If we are to succeed, we must stick together - never let the bastards separate us! If there will be many of them, they'll try to flank us without a doubt. That's why they'll want us separated. It's easier to pick off troops that are alone without support, disposing of them one by one like game stalked by professional hunters." I continued, still slightly struggling as I was wasting some breathing air to speak, "Boris, you know where we are going exactly. You shall lead us. Michael, you have a bolt-action rifle; it is the perfect weapon for sniping. Keep up with Boris so that you're always near the front, ready to drop down on the ground and start shooting through your scope. Steven, Benjamin and I will follow you closely. If you see anyone in the distance, quickly drop on the ground and don't shout to the others - just signal them with your hand to fall."

I was using an MP50 Gas Mask, a black variant. Very compact, light, comfortable and effective. The mask was a model from 2011, manufactured two years before the blast and imported by my father from America. It gave me a wide field of view thanks to its single lens that spans the width of the face. If anyone was to attack us up close, or ambush us from hiding, I'd spot them instantly. But every other direction of attack was visible only to Michael with his scoped gun and Boris, as it was up to him to lead us to our objective as quickly and quietly as possible... but I trusted them, they would not let us down.

If any of yous want to know what an MP50 mask looks like, here are two links to images:

We began to walk down the street. It was really muddy for some reason and we continued down the street until we hit an intersection. I signaled to go left down the other street and in the distance you could see two tall buildings. "We'll climb the building on the left, the taller one. Good spot to snipe. See that building next to it? Thats the hotel. Thats where they shall be at. Who wants to come with me when we engage? Ill be going inside the hotel itself trying to capture the officer, and i need someone with me. Michael i want you to climb onto the roof with your bolt action with a partner. And someone else will cover the entrance of the building, where Michael will be in, for any enemies. If they spot the sniper you will cover him. Any questions?"

I took out the tranquilizer and handed it to Boris, holding in the barrel, allowing him to grab the handle. I showed him how to use it, and handed him an extra syringe, in case he would miss the officer. "Remember, we do not want to carry him. That would be a problem. So only if completely necessary. I am not the greatest warrior, so I may go up to the roof with Michael and cover him" I said. It would be better for Steven or Wolf to go with Boris; they seemed more skilled than I.

"Ok Steven, Wolf, whos coming with me?" i said looking at the two. "By the way Benjamin, either way well have to carry him. Even if hes paralyzed or wounded." i handed back the tranqualizer back to him.

"Ok Wolf, i want you to come with me. Steven will guard the entrance to the building, where michael and benjamin are gonna be at. Here, have my binoculars," i gave them to benjamin, "You'll spot targets for Michael."

"Heres the plan, me and Wolf will go through the back entrance of the hotel, We wont use the stairs but instead climb up the elevator shaft. Which starts on the 3rd floor, so well have to get through the guards there. Once were on the roof i will signal Michael to snipe the guards on the roof and me and wolf will go loud. We need him alive so try to shoot him in the legs or something. Also, Michael i want you to take out any guards that are patrolling the area around the block. We cant afford them to act as rienforcements."

" Basically heres the plan. One, Michael takes out guards on other side of street. Two, Me and Wolf go stealth, and enter back of building. Then we'll go up the 3 floors to the elevator shaft and climb it up to the roof. Three, i give signal and michael takes out guards and supports us as we take the officer alive. Four, we escape the hotel and begin to go to the river, which is about 6 miles away from here. The clouds were really dense for the past 3 weeks so no sunlight will be hitting us."

"Benjamin, i want you to spot enemies for Michael."

"And Steven I want you to guard Michaels position. His Mosin Nagant doesnt have a silencer. When he starts shooting they're probably gonna try to get up the roof and take him out."

"Does everybody understand?" i said looking at everybody.
"Get comfortable and we'll move out in 10 minutes."

"A wise decision Benjamin - you can be Michael's spotter." I passed him a pair of military binoculars which I had bought during our last stop at a market, "Both of you should be safe from any enemy fire up there, as you can quickly drop & take cover behind the ledge of the roof or go behind any of the chimneys up there. But, just in case, try to remain hidden for as long as you can even after opening fire." I spoke to both of the men who were about to head to the roof of the building, then turned to Boris. "We need at least two people in the building otherwise we won't last long, so I'll join you." Then I turned to Steven and spoke, "You can either join us (since we might need the firepower in there), or you can go up with Michael and Benjamin to the roof (if you have a weapon that's good for long distances) - the choice is up to you."

xD lol We think alike Boris. I started writing my comment but you beat me to it. :D Okay, let's go with what you wrote since it's longer and overall better. ;)

"That's a great plan, Boris. If we stick to it and none of the Nazis detect us too soon, this should go fairly smooth."

I sat on a peice of rubble for a minute and adjusted my mask. I got up and said, "Ok lets go. The building is a block away. Lets move." And we left.

I sighed deeply at the fact that we would have to carry the officer as I put the tranq back into its belt.
We were all about to go into war, when I realized that everyone had thanked each other after saving each others' lives. All except me. I looked at Wolf. "Now that we have the moment, I would like to use it to show you my grattitude for putting your own life at risk to save mine, Wolf. I appreciate your concerns of my well-being, and I must mention that I "owe you one" ".

I replied to the speaker, "Glad you appreciate it, but you don't owe me anything comrade - we are on an important mission, we must look out for each other if we are to survive & succeed. However, I can't expect you to throw yourself in the way of a fired bullet. As long as you look out for yourself and don't get yourself injured, that'll be enough of a repayment to me," I spoke with a friendly smile on my face. It was good to be among soldiers who respected their comrades and Benjamin had already proved himself as one such person. He had honour, and a warrior's spirit, but he was obviously troubled by his past. I hoped that his old memories & nightmares would not step in the way of the mission and beak concentration... I also hoped the same about myself. We got this far and if we made just one wrong decision, everything could go to hell. My judgement (and the judgement of my comrades) had to be clear and precise.

Dang it! Sorry about that. If any of you have any idea how to delete a post, tell me.

I said, "Sounds like a plan," as I chambered the rounds into my rifle. " Just make sure that when you give me some sort of signal as to when to start shooting. I don't want to let the fascists know we're here until we need to."

We walked for about 5 minutes until we reached the building. It was about 100 meters away from the hotel and a good sniping position. "Ok lets take a short brake," i said looking at the hotel. I took down my ak and observed it, making sure everything was in order. We sat for about 2 minutes and catched our breath.
"Ok, lets go. Michael and benjamin. Good luck. Cover each others backs and make sure to get to the roof undetected. Steven. Make sure you cover their backs. And Wolf, lets get going bro," i said. And just like that we were off.

I clicked my Kalash to automatic, jostled my knife in it's sheath to make sure it was loose, and covered Benjamin and Michael. It would all begin very soon, and things would go faster than I could think. I was ready.

Since we were about to go stealthy until the first fired shot & detection, I decided to pull out my knife and (if I had to) use that until they find our exact position - then switch to my AK. "Good luck, comrades!" I spoke to the group of three that were heading onto the roof, then followed Boris.

I pushed open the big, dark brown wooden entrance door that mowed away some snow. And in we went. We stood there, studying the room's every area. A huge lobby with some small stairs on the other side of the room. The room was grey, but still enlightened by the light that flowed in through the windows. "Let's go" I said shortly to him as we moved towards the staircase...
