If Microsoft buys Minecraft no major changes would be made, I personally think that they know people like the game the way it already is, if they ever decide to change anything, people might not accept it, so they will somehow avoid any trouble with the players, that is my opinion though.

I think it's a pretty good thing. Microsoft usually don't let project die easily, so they'll probably invest into it and updated it more frequently and better. Let's see how it turns out.

I don't see the downside, it gives them much more leeway when producing more games, and they have the backing of a great company, rather than a small indie company. It would mean better funding for future expansions, better funding for their online servers, and to be honest, a lot more faith in the game now that a giant company like Microsoft has taken interest in it. And I'm sure the old developers are swimming in cash right now, so I don't really feel sorry for their decision.

Yeah, i don´t mind it in this case because I think MineCraft has run it´s course and there wasn´t going to be anything revolutionary coming for it anytime soon. It is better to have a large company deal with the logistics of maintaining and making derivative changes to a game, and allow the creative people move onto a new project. I think creative people get the life sucked out of them if they are forced to manage a long term project.

I'm not on any side really, I do think microsoft is going to milk the game to the last drop but hey, if that happens we can always find a new game!

I was worried at first, but since Microsoft has taken over there's been a lot of new items which is great. They kept the same classic game, but seamlessly incorporated new minerals and woods and other materials. I love it, and the game still has its charm. Microsoft has been doing great. I was worried they would change everything, but it's practically the same.

Seeing how they're still marketing Minecraft for literally every device they're producing I think they're doing very good with that IP.

Microsoft is a very smart company. I don't think by them buying Minecraft, it will affect it negatively. Microsoft have all the resources to make Minecraft better.

Yes, you are right. Microsoft is way better than other companies out there.

Their current marketing strategy is good and I think it will last forever.

I don't really think that Microsoft will be a bad thing for Minecraft. I mean, it's been 2 years and Minecraft is still doing great and many people are still playing. And also there are new people are playing it too.

This is kind of a dead topic you chose to revive. You didn't even add anything new to the discussion.

I think that there is something deep in me that prevents me from thinking any sort of takeover or purchase from a giant company is a good thing. I guess we shall see though, and it should be interesting.
