Minecraft as an educational tool?

    The most obvious thing Minecraft could teach them is basic colors and shapes, for preschool if not even younger kids. For first-graders simple math could be taught by adding and breaking up blocks. Stories could even be told, and one by one, the child adds their own input by adding what they see fit as they help to mold the story.

    I think that it can have some potential. The first thing that comes to mind is architecture. I mean, Minecraft has unlimited ways to build, well almost. You're only restricted to the blocks really. But you can make quite a bit of buildings and outline ideas in Minecraft.

    I guess it could be, but then again, you could just use something like legos or blocks, and that would provide the same thing.
