I've tried Unturned, but didn't really get into it.

Terreria is just like Minecraft in a way. Terreria was inspired from minecraft, it's just a 3rd person view of it.

I think I've mentioned this before, but minetest looks pretty cool. It's a lot like minecraft, but it's written in C++ instead of java, so it doesn't have the limitations like a build height limit.

I think most MC variants are cool. Some are better made than others but generally speaking you can have fun with almost the most basic builds. I've played Guncraft before, it wasn't very polished but it was entertaining for what was. Also the 2 d version of MC on iOS is pretty accessible for on the go play.

I don't play any, but I've heard good things about Terraria. I think nothing will touch Minecraft for a long time, and if it does, they copied their idea.

I see these kinds of games a lot on app stores and not much on consoles, I guess it's because it's safer to plagiarize a game in app form and send it out for free rather than having it released on a mainstream console.

I haven't played any of these Minecraft knock offs but I heard that some of them are pretty good. My friend has this game, although it's nothing like Minecraft when it comes to the game play, but the graphics looks exactly the same and the idea is you create a monster using blocks and that would be your faithful companion. Kind of like Minecraft meets Pokémon, I forgot what the game is called though.
