Mining with annoying people.

Wow that sucks. Thankfully I have never had anything like that and when I play with other no one tries to boss the other around

 

Yeah, it does suck, but it's usually easy enough to deal with it.

 

I played an online server with some friends and we were digging and mining down below. Well I was the annoying person in the group and I mined above while being in the back of the party. Lava spilled down and killed everybody, except me. I also "accidentally" click on my friends sometimes and stuff happens.

 

I used to play on a small server with a couple of friends. I log on one day and I see that we have a new member! Fantastic, I've been looking forward to this day, since the server can become boring if no-one is around. To my dismay, the new player didn't turn out to be that awesome. Apart from speaking little English, since he was German, he also demanded we sleep every night. He would just keep saying "sleep please" until I found a bed. I don't mind it if I am near my base, but if I'm out caving, it gets really annoying. I would have to come back up to the surface just to sleep and then return. I did learn my lesson though. I never leave my base without a bed anymore .

 

Wouldn't it just make more sense to ignore his sleep requests? Most people I know just don't bother with beds on servers because they know most other people won't

 

I should have done that, but I didn't have the heart to do it. He was new to the game, so I let him enjoy the benefits while he was learning.

 

Yeah, I remember my first server, before I started advertising them as public... My friend just got the game and the first time he ever played it was on my server I still remember those complaints about using WASD instead of the arrow keys...

 

Does the company that makes this game keep watch over this kind of thing? Doing all that work only to have it stolen by some troll is obviously annoying. I don't know of any online game that doesn't have some kind of anti cheat protection.

 

Mojang (Swedish developer company that makes Minecraft) don't run servers themselves. They provide the software for people to run their own minecraft servers, and people run the server themselves. This means that whoever runs the server is in charge of what happens on the server, so if someone doesn't want fire on a server, or doesn't want trees, they can just make a server that does that, but it also means that mojang can't do anything to stop this, because they don't actually use public servers (and if they did, they still might not have admin permissions there)

 

I don't mine mining with people as long as I can interact and understand the concept of what we plan to do, but yeah I do agree some people can get annoying because you try to explain something simple and they do the opposite and do something else.

 

Well Whenever I play multiplayer I am in charge so I usually don't have those kinds of problems.

 

I don't really have any problems with such people. If they want things done their own way, then they can do it, but I'm not going to conform and do everything that they want to be done.
