As soon as I have final system requirements, I'll post them :)

  4. Why?

You get less bullets from pickups, but you get extra MGRs as a starting bonus.

Here is a comparison for reference: In M2033, on easy difficulty you get 400+ 5.45 bullets during the tutorial/prologue level. On ranger hardcore you get ~30.

Oh. I thought you were making a prescriptivist argument against the use of less instead of fewer.

But also, I fail to see how that's especially ironic, as they're clearing referring to dirty rounds picked up from the environment and you'll only be firing MGR if you find yourself alone in D6 and realize that the amoebas are getting hungry...

So LL will run better than Metro 2033 on the same video card? Though the systemrequirements of LL are a little bit higher than the systemrequirements of Metro 2033.

    Last Light:
    Minimum:
OS: Windows XP (32-Bit only), Vista, 7, or 8
Processor: Dual Core CPU (2.2+ GHz Dual Core CPU or better)
    Memory: 2GB
    Hard Disk Space:
Video Card: DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant graphics cards (GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB, GeForce GTS 250, etc)
    DirectX®: 9.0c
Additional: Metro: Last Light utilizes NVIDIA 3D Vision with compatible cards and hardware.

    Recommended:
    OS: Windows 7 or 8
Processor: Any Quad Core or 3.0+ GHz Dual Core CPU
    Memory: 2GB
    Hard Disk Space:
Video Card: DirectX 11 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 480 and above)
    DirectX®: 11
Additional: Metro: Last Light utilizes NVIDIA 3D Vision with compatible cards and hardware.

    Metro 2033
    Minimum System Requirements

    OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7
Video Card: DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant graphics cards (GeForce 8800, GeForce GT220 and above)
Processor: Dual core CPU (any Core 2 Duo or better will do)
    Memory: 1GB RAM

    Recommended System Requirements

Video Card: DirectX 10 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 260 and above)
Processor: Any Quad Core or 3.0+ GHz Dual Core CPU
    Memory: 2GB RAM

    Optimal Requirements

Video Card: NVIDIA DirectX 11 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 480 and 470)
    ProcessorCore i7 CPU
Memory: As much RAM as possible (8GB+)
    Fast HDD or SSD

Also there is no AMD video card mentioned(I have a AMD card). Metro 2033 worked well with AMD video card. In Benchmarks they even have better results than NVIDIA. But I think they were not offically supported. Will be in LL no official support for AMD, too? I know LL features PhysX, which is NVIDIA exclusive.
By the way is the destroyable enviroment a PhysX feature?

I misviewed CoH 2 as being RO2. But it was still the 4th best selling not on offer.

PhysX was indeed created by NVIDIA, but many modern AMD video cards support it as well so there's nothing to worry about. As long as your graphics card is a DX11 one and you have the latest drivers, then there should be no problem with running PhysX... of course, the frame rate you get whilst running it will vary depending on the overall power of your system though.

I know that PhysX works on AMD cards but they cannot run PhysX-effects smoothly. Even NVIDIA video cards are struggling with PhysX. Though i read somewhere that Metro 2033 used PhysX very effective. CPUs performe almosts as good as a single NVIDIA GPU. I hope that this will be the case in LL as well.

The problem is that PhysX is a reason for buying a NVIDIA product. The first Metro game was a budget title as TotalAaron said. But now LL is one of the most anticipated games in 2013. So more people are going to buy this game. So there is a great advertising space and it is bigger then before (Metro 2033). NVIDIA wants to make as much profit as possible. With the exclusive features NVIDIA persuades people to buy a NVIDIA product.
A example: Some people with AMD cards buy LL. They start playing. After a short time they find out that they can't activate a cool feature because they have don't have a NVIDIA card. But they want to play with this feature some of them buy a NVIDIA video card.
Even the Systemrequirements suggests that the game won't work with other video cards.

More and more games are becoming part of the AMD gaming evolved programme. Heck even BF4 which will out sell Metro X10 fold is partnering with AMD.

NVIDIA having PhysX supported games is no longer going to be an issue when the SDK will be open source. (I can't remember where I read that, but it was last year)

PhysX on AMD cards is offloaded to the CPU, which can have a performance hit but then it's not minus 10fps - borderlands 2 proved that.

If 4A have locked PhysX to Nvidia cards only then I think it's about time they find a new partner and work with AMD.

Even though I have 670's I want AMD owners too to get the same experience with Metro Last Light.

The Gaming Evolved programme is a different thing than PhysX. It's like NVIDIA's TheWayItsMeantToPlayed programm. Even Intel has such a programme. I think this programmes are meaningless. This programmes are something like lobbying (the removal of DX10 in AC 1 by NVIDIA). It only says that they supported the decelopers of this game. Maybe they gave them the presenting system (BF4). Also Battlefield 3 was part of the AMD and NVIDIA programme. PhysX is like this new hair thing in Tomb Raider. I think it's called TressFX or something like that. The difference between them is that TressFX works on AMD and NVIDIA. And Physx on AMD cards does not work well. Only if it is offloaded majnu said.
I like the PhysX effects. But PhysX should be a real open source code. Or 4A should replace them by Havok.

Sorry, I am relative new in this forum so I don't read every thread.
I think it's a wish of a lot of people that the performance gets improved.

In my opinion 4A made a good decision cancelling the multiplayer. Metro is a game with focus on the singleplayer. I think there won't be a multiplayer DLC for. Maybe the next game comes with a multiplayer. And there will be a discussion because Metro is popular for its singleplayer experience (Dead Space 3).

4a have already said the game is quite a bit more optimized, But on max you'll need a supercomputer to run it :)

I wonder if they will bother giving "optimal" requirements like they did with 2033...

If a GTX480/570 is "recommended" then it's safe to say that a GTX600 series/Radeon 79XX will be needed to max out the game without SSAA at 1080p.
