I like both MMORPG's and SPRPG's. They each bring a different flavor of fun. For MMORPG's, I like the feeling that there are other living players which I have the option to interact with. For SPRPG's, I often start to feel lonely as time goes on, but the thing about SPRPG's is that they are usually more in-depth than the MMO counterparts.

I guess it depends a lot on the MMO to I know a lot of MMO's I used to play I felt like I was playing with immature adults.

I think ultimately it falls back on personal preference. People that like to have a more focused and personal experience will want to choose RPG while people that want a more social and longer appeal game choose MMO. The two are similar and also different in my opinion.

MMOs for sure. RPGs can be fun but not as nearly as MMOs. Nothing beats playing dungeons and PVPing with your friends.

Both have very distinct advantages. MMO's are really fun games to play with friends or clans. There is a really nice element to the teamplay in MMO's. The other cool thing about them is that you feel like you are in an absolutely massive game. So many different people doing different things adds to the depth.

On the other hand, RPG's tend to have much better/deeper story lines. I find them to also be more immersive in general. These are games that you play to really become that character and to experience the story as if you were there yourself.

What I like about RPG's is the fact is the story is what sells the game most of the time with MMO's it's just about socializing and grinding very few MMO's actually have a story with a beginning and an end.

I used to really enjoy playing single player RPG's like Final Fantasy, Baldur's Gate, and Elder Scrolls. However, it's tough to go back to those games after playing MMORPG's with thousands of other real people running around the world. It just makes everything more fun and spontaneous.

MMORPGs are better because you still have something to do after you "finish" the story. There's PVP, there's raiding and there are friends.

Much prefer MMORPG's over RPG's. That's not to say I haven't been caught up in D&G, but that's as far as it goes. I love the interaction that WoW gives and still getting to play a role of EPIC HEALS. :)

I like RPGs a lot more then MMOs. MMOs only work, if the community is friendly, or if you can get about 20 friends together and raid with them all the time. You cannot really progress much in an MMO once you are forced to do content with other people. A lot of them rage-quit in the middle of a dungeon, or you just cannot find a group at all. Only thing you can do then, is finding a good Guild to join, but those are usually very rare also. Mind you, this is just from my personal experience, and I have not tried out all the MMOs out there.

I prefer interacting with people rather than AI, so to say. I'll always pick the team game, the social game if it comes down to choosing between that and a single player.

I'm not saying that all the good RPGs should have mmo versions (because that's not possible due to different game mechanics and what is achievable in an online game - online games have that issue of having to minimize lag which is usually a pain). All I'm saying is that if we are comparing an RPG and an MMORPG of the same quality rating, I will probably be playing the MMORPG because I love playing with people.

I have to say that I enjoy single player RPGs more. The biggest problem for me is that no MMO has really had a great story. At least none of the MMOs that I have played. You have to present your story in a way that is engaging, and in MMOs that area is hugely lacking.

I like MMORPGs more but I don't like the fees that are charged. An ideal RPG for me would be a MMORPG that was completely free to play and had millions of players. This would never be possible of course but one can dream.

It is very possible. Guild Wars 2 charges you one time only, and that is when you buy the game. Then you can play it forever and get all the updates and content they later release, without paying anything. There are also a lot of free to play MMO`s out there.

RPG are great, especially for those who don't have access to the net all the time, but want a great game to play, its viable, MMORPG are for people who want to compete with/ against persons miles away via the internet.

I like RPGs for its focus. MMOs are kinda more in the interaction side. I've met a lot of great friends in MMOs, through competition as well as guilds.

I also prefer playing and MMORPG because I love interacting with other players and in a RPG, that's not possible and the game stays too linear.

Depends. I like MMOs for socializing, RPGs for story. If I want to solo an MMO to play through its story, it's an option--albeit a challenging one. It's very rare that I want to play an MMO strictly for its story, though.

It really depends on your personality.
If you are a loner, and you often play solo in MMORPG, you might as well play a singleplay RPG game since it makes no difference for you.
If you prefer company, then it is the best you play MMORPG with lots of real people around.

The current RPGs all have better storyline than MMORPGs. I wonder when they will combine all the good parts of the two.

This is what I'm hoping will happen one day--a strong MMO with the great story of a traditional RPG. I think the stumbling block with MMOs is that the story doesn't allow for very many static characters outside of overall quests. Characters drive story, and MMOs leave enough room for the players to come up with their own. Hopefully they'll find a way to bridge that gap one day.
