Mobile gaming is pretty good. But the problem that I have with it is that the screen is super tiny compared to a computer monitor. I mean it's great for killing time and all, but I don't really see myself spending hours playing on a mobile phone.

Mobile gaming is fun but it won't replace computers or consoles unless of course they update the video card and expand the memory but that won't happen because it takes up a lot of space and phones need to fit in the pocket for practical purposes. If the technology improves in the future though... then we'll cross the bridge when we get there. :)

well I don't really think that mobile gaming will be in the same degree of PC and Consols, mobile limits are clear, they can't make a good game in 3D and good quality with good story and gameplay ! that's why PC and Consols will stay the best !

While I don't think that mobile gaming will ever REPLACE console gaming, I do think that it will always continue to improve. It's great to have something to keep busy with while you're stuck somewhere. I play Yahtzee With Friends between work calls, for example. We've come a long way from those old basic games that came on flip phones!

that's completly true, mobile games will never replace the consols and computer games, but they will have their special place in humain life, because you'll always need kill some time when you are stuck somewhere as you said

I don't have many games in my current mobile phone but whenever I feel bored I like to play Solitaire, Hill climb racing or clash of clans.

I don't think mobiles will replace PCs/Consoles in terms of gaming any time soon, if ever. They're bound to be lesser than the former ones.

Mobile Gaming I think took the place of what used to be occupied by the Wii, casual gaming for those moments when you don't want to sink too much time into a game or if you have friends over and need an easy way to get everyone involved. And much like the time when the Wii boomed, PC games and more powerful consoles will always be in a separate category served by hardcore gamers. In the future we'll probably get more formerly console-exculsive titles pushed to mobile but for the most part it will be about games that are quick to pick up and play.

Mobile will never reach the gaming quality a PC and console can ever offer you. You already pay a lot of money for the respective mobile phones and tablets, mostly because there's portability involved... imagine the extra-cost the research and implementation the companies need to pay that would be inherently thrown out at the innocent buyer... no one will bother, trust me. PC and consoles all the way!

Everybody else here has stated that mobile gaming will never reach PC/Console quality, but I don't think that's the direction the industry is going in. Although some gaming titles for console and PC are ported to mobile with varying degrees of success (and vice versa), the most popular games on mobile, for the most part, are very different from popular games on Console and PC. I think that mobile and PC gaming will diverge paths, and mobile will never 'catch up' with PC gaming because it's not following PC gaming.

Good point, although given that most people I directly and indirectly know compare the two industries... I think they should reconsider a bit the direction they're taking.

I'm no big on it at all. It just always ends up getting boring. Mobile games don't really have depth and always end up being monotonous.

Mobile games are great for killing time while away from a real screen, but it's not big on graphics, to me. I'm not looking for perfection in my mobile games.

Oh yeah, but I don't think mobile games were ever meant to be too aesthetically pleasing and compared to PC graphics. Like you said, they're great for killing time and you don't need great graphics for that. Mobile game devs are aware of that and that's why they aim for addictive gameplay first when making the game.

Mobile games has its place but it will never replace PC or Consoles. It's comparing apples and oranges honestly. It's a great medium for casual short term gaming since people use their phones to pass time, as a general basic multimedia convenience platform. Mobile gaming will not infringe upon PC level gaming because that's not their aim. Their angle is the casual gaming market that Nintendo had enticed. There's higher degree of mainstream appeal and the shortness makes it convenient if people are riding a bus, waiting on a movie to start, ect without being so engrossed that it causes issues. You can quit a level midway and not get annoyed because it's only a 5 second loss versus a 30 minute loss in a PC game.
