  1. 4A wanted MP for M2033, but it was cut due to a number of reasons, the biggest of which was time constraints. I'd like to believe they will deliver a fairly interesting coop and pvp multiplayer, but I'd rather not get my hopes up just yet.

C'mon guys, coop campaign got most of the votes? That would be awful, in my opinion. Playing Metro, by myself, at midnight with all the lights off was probably one of my favorite things to do the summer of 2010. Having another player would really ruin the immersion, basically turning the game into a Russian Left 4 Dead.

I voted for Horde mode, the MGR-currency system would be an extremely unique feature that could be put to good use.

I think they would need to alter some of the levels in order to make a co-op campaign possible for narrative and other reasons. For example: some of the metro "vehicles" like the handcar only have a certain amount of seats so there would be no room for the 2nd player.

Like for example in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty8Cqd48i90

Voted 'Others' as in: none. Single player only, please. It's a dying breed.

Like it or not, but a lot of gamers buy games "day one" for the online multiplayer. Personally if I only want to play a game for it's single player then I will pick the game up sometime down the line when it's cheap' and that's not taking anything away from a great single player experience.

I would say don't do multiplayer unless it's done correctly. Don't try to be a cod clone for god's sake, do something different, and do it well (and I'm excited to see what the Devs have in mind) , that way you get good day one sales and the game hopefully makes a decent profit for the Devs.

Co-op campaign + extra co-op levels man :) that would be sweet, as long as the co-op campaign wouldn't interfere with the real campaign.

Like say, In co-op campaign you play as a random ranger? I could jive to that.

Instead of the regular modes, I hope they do something new, like the Assassin's Creed Multiplayer, but a co-op mode would be cool.

Co-op and survival modes would be really fun and I think Metro lends itself well to those modes. I don't think TDM would be a unique enough experience for Metro. I'd like to see something similar to Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

I voted Single Player because I don't have many friends who love video games.

Personally if it was up to me I would leave it singleplayer. But since its clearly a thing that will happen , I just want to say that a COOP campaign will have the same problems that people are now furious about regarding the upcoming Dead Space 3. Which is ...the fact that you must always have a guy with you ,will ruin the scare factor and atmosphere. You could say..then play singleplayer... Well yea..but it doesnt change much if i need to have an A.I. who follows me the whole campaign...so the only way to do this is for the A.I. to dissapear completly in singleplayer, nobody to follow you except a few places where the original story intended it.
Conclusion: Dont force a following A.I. in singleplayer , if you decided to make the campaign COOP for people interested in that sort of stuff.

Oh man, I remember I had some really cool ideas for this back in 2011. Let me see if I can go through the forum and dig up anything from what I posted back then. :)

Found it! Here it is, in italic, taken straight from my old post:

Mode name: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
The game starts off with one person playing as a Dark One and everyone else is a team of Rangers, who have to work together in order to destroy the Homo Novus. The human players are armed with guns & explosives as well as possessing better health & armour. The player who takes on the role of the Dark One has superior speed, stealth, senses and can only attack once every fifteen seconds with a psychic attack. Once a Ranger is attacked by this, they enter a quick time event and have to press a button as quickly as possible. If they fail, they will die and don't respawn until the start of the next game. If they succeed, they become "enlightened" and are now on the Dark One's side, trying to defend it by killing all of the Rangers. When the Dark One dies, one of the "enlightened" takes its place as the Homo Novus. When the Dark One dies and there are no "enlightened" alive, the game is over and the Rangers win. On the other hand, if all the Rangers are dead, the "enlightened" win the match.

    Mode name: TOWER
This is very similar to the 'Onslaught' idea you came up with before. Up to four players (locally on console, or online on console or PC) are on top of a tower on the surface of Moscow. They have to fight off waves of approaching enemies from the inside, and the ones that climb the outside. At the end of every five waves, they have to fight off a demon. The number of hostile mutants increases with each round. In addition, the players are given a crapload of ammo and weapons at the very start but they have no way to refill it until ten waves pass. Every ten waves, the players get a chance to stock up on weapons, ammunition & explosives as well as being able to exchange guns. This mode carries on and never ends. There are leaderboards for it. I believe this would be a strong selling point for the multiplayer section of the game that wouldn't sacrifice any of the singleplayer goodnes in order to satisfy the needs of a wider market.

There were also many great ideas from other users in the "A Couple Multiplayer Mode Suggestions" thread, so you might want to look that up. ;)
