My concerns from what we've seen so far

thye the minigun should maybe only be used once in the game and only during a certain mission in singleplayer. i dont really like the idea of a minigun either

Yeah, hopefully you only get it for that one part in the demo. Besides, we don't have to use it, hopefully the mission doesn't rely on it. :/

Everyone says that the minigun and other stronger weapons are from D6, but why lies that stupid minigun in a Nazi station. Artyom and the other Rangers were the only one who were in D6.

yeah well maybe the nazis were a d6? by the way the minigun is handmade. D6 has modern whepons not homemade ones handmade in the stations.

I'm not particularly worried from what we've seen, sure the mini guns out of place but D6 apparently had new weapons so its not a stretch for a few newer and bigger weapons to show up, the key to making it work in my opinion is to give them very limited ammo and keep the extremely rare.

The biggest concern I've heard from most people is how actiony the game video was, I think thats mostly marketing to draw in more traditional fps fans, and lets be honest watching 5 minutes of walking through the metro where nothings happening would be pretty boring. 4A seems to be keeping to what made 2033 great the atmosphere and freedom you had.

I remember one review that complained about the game being way too hard and there were 100's of comments from facebook below the review saying "well, i guess i won't get this game then" basically. I have a feeling the reviewer must have used a higher difficulty option. I think they should take out the pictures next to the difficulty options, which sort of pull at peoples ego's i think, and put some text that is more descriptive. Like they do in Deus EX:HR. The way they do it now is almost funny, as the picture for the "easy" option is kind of insulting if i remember correctly.

I had trouble myself, after accidentally firing away some military rounds. I replayed the game my third in 3D (great way to play btw) and choose the higher difficulty option too

I also hope the mini gun is just for that scene.

I think the real issue was a lack of explanation to the player, you eventually figure out that their wearing armor and work around it but the first few times you think it just takes a lot of ammo to kill a guy, same thing with the weapons your not really given much to go on in terms of comparing them to decide whats better, the curency system also wasn't explained to well and by time you figured it out you could have put yourself in a tough spot.

As to the action in the trailer in a interview one of the devs said the cherry picked the more actiony sequences from across the game to put in the trailer and that they havne't forgotten what fans liked about 2033.

I'm also concerned about this. Quick knifing is an awful addition to any single-player game imo. It has its merits for multiplayer, but even then I'd prefer the concept of quick-knifing was wiped from the face of gaming altogether. Is it really that hard to draw your knife before initiating a kill? Also, I'm worried about pretty much all kill animations. Animated kills rarely if ever are done right; usually you end up with auto-aim inevitably dragging you towards the target, or in some cases making you trail the target if they walk off while you initiate the kill. The only game which (imo) came close to getting this right was Skyrim, where the first-person throat slitting animation had a very small window in which it could occur, and to my knowledge won't drag you across the room after the person if they move while you initiate it.

I'd have to see more gameplay before I could comment on this. There were a few weapons which were capable of OHKs in 2033.

The minigun looks a bit OTT to me too, it doesn't look feasible to be carrying about. I don't object to large powerful weapons on principle though, provided we can't just pull them out of our pockets to use them..

I don't really have a problem with the Minigun because it fits in with the story many new weapons were found in D6 and vast amounts of ammo

For those that say that it doesn't fit in i can understand, but, From what i am seeing Last light is looking towards a power struggle of D6 so combat will happen more often ( meaning it won't be exactly like 2033)

Well, I just watched the 12 minute video, and I'm...less than happy.

Looked very CODish to me. The mini gun is way out of place, and the amount of ammo he was expending with his regular weapons does not fit the game at all. In the 1st game ammo was scarce, but here it seems there is more than enough to take on the whole metro.

The grenade launcher also seems a bit off story, especially considering the amount of ammo he had.

The way he was cutting through the enemy in every encounter was completly COD like.

I was looking forward to this game...Now, not so much as it seems they have made the same mistake most other companies make with second parts, and that is to completely change the game play from the first one, and turn it into the average shooter that requires no skill, thinking, or preperation, so every 12 year old with a console will bug mommy and daddy to buy it for them.

To be fair, they may well have been using unlimited ammo for the sake of showing 'action'. It would have looked pretty damn stupid if the dev playing had suddenly run out when they were trying to show what the combat looked like. Plus, I would imagine there will still be some 'Ranger' mode equivalent, meaning that even though ammo may well be common in normal (like it is in Metro 2033) it could still be scarce in the ranger modes.

But yeah, I agree about the minigun, it doesn't please me, but interviews with the devs suggest it's not something you'll be finding on a regular basis, while also reasoning that the simplicity of design means metro gunsmiths could conceivably have made it.

Ammo was scarce? I found it every were in one play through a found enough ammo to last me 3 play throughs.
The 12 Mins Demo is a Just a Tech Demo showing everything new, so every thing you see there isn't always going to be in the game

Hope this makes you feel easier

It was scarce for me on Ranger dificulty, on regular difficulty there was a bit more, and there seemed to be more Military grade ammo on Ranger than on lower settings.

Wut? You must have been walking around with your eyes closed on the lower settings then. On non-ranger settings I typically have enough to buy both armours during the game as well as fill up on all types of ammo at every opportunity with the spare. On Ranger the MGRs are all in the same places, but there's always less of them. Typically, I get enough to keep myself stocked with filters and buy both armours at different points, but I have to be careful with purchasing ammunition because I can buy less; this usually results in using re-usable projectiles such as Hellsing bolts.

Ammo was scarce, but there's still lots of military grade (money) ammo, even in Ranger mode. At one point, just for the hell of it, I bought 2000 AK dirty rounds! I was like "Woah!" :) Ha ha!

In my last (non-Ranger) play-through I had so much dirty ammo that I would sell most of it (like 600 rounds out of about 800) because I just wouldn't use it all. And I had so much military grade ammo (not from selling the dirty rounds though) I didn't know what to do with it, so I could actually use it as ammo.

I think ammo should be a little scarcer in Last Light, but then again, when the mutants attack (like in a level like Hole Station) we'll all be pretty screwed if we run out.

There's always the knife. :) But I agree, scarcer, or more expensive ammo would be good.

not to mention the developer player had "GOD" mode on for demo purposes if that was in the final game hed be filled with more lead than a Chinese toy factory.
