I am new to the game too. I always knew about it, but I never felt the urge to join in the fun until now and I'm so glad I did. This has to be the best game I've ever played. I just love Civ V.

That really would make a good gift. It won't be long now before the prices drop since Civilizations VI is going to be launched in October.

Oh is that how it works. The prices come down on the older versions when the new game comes out? Who knew...

Yeah I am just worried that the new version would be so good that it would make this one outdated but I guess the upside is that trying this one out first will make it at least so that the fun won't be spoiled and we can always just buy the later versions later on.

For them it's as good as the new version if they haven't played it before. Even if they play it later on Civ V is still a good introduction to the genera.

I think that Civ games are not within the MMORPGs

I guess you are right. Just that some of the other titles I've played wherein I originally played the newer version it did end up spoiling me a bit because of the better features and graphics so I could t get as much into the older versions because of that but maybe in this game it's a bit different.

Then don't let your friends and relatives see the new one, at least for a while. Ok, ok that's a bit mean but if you are going to give them Civ V it's still a very solid game and I'm sure that they will enjoy it, unless they aren't into strategy games.

Yeah that was kind of my plan too. Additionally the new one will probably be cheaper once they are finished playing with civ v so that's another additional merit to starting wi civ v right now which I'm assuming is already cheaper in the first place, so this way I get to save on both and they get to experience the series chronologically which will prevent being spoiled too so it's win win lol.
