    Because I live in America. Also Last Light was EXTREMELY hyped up at E3 (American video game convention). It was voted one of the best games shown at E3 and there are a lot of people wanting to play the game. The only reason Metro 2033 didn't sell that much in the beginning was because of the fact no one really knew much about it. I saw a preview of it in Game Informer and felt that it was my kind of game. As soon as people started to pick it up it jumped from a few hundred thousand sales to well over 2 million sales, and having the THQ humble bundle AND the free Facebook give-a-way it created a lot of hype for the game.

    I'm really happy that it's in two months since I can save up some money. My brother and I finished building our PC last Friday and we spent a lot of money on it, so I'm happy that it's going to be in two months. Also will it be for $50 like a standard PC game or would it be $60?

    (If you ask me all PC games should be a lot cheaper since the production of the disc, box, manual and shipping is not needed for a digital sale. It makes no sense to charge people the same as if they were buying a physical copy)

    This is some pretty good news if you ask me. A delay that is both welcome yet short is just what I need to please both my mind and heart!... *Not creepy at all.

    Re: difference between North America and Europe release dates.

    Retailers in the US want to sell games on Tuesday. In Europe they want to sell on Friday. I honestly have no idea why, because as a European that has always annoyed me, but it has something to do with when they receive new stock and fill up their stores or something.

    Re: changing editions

    You have to see it like this. If you go to a store, and pay money upfront for a product, the store has to deliver that product and nothing less. In some countries, pre-orders with up-front downpayment is a thing. So you can't remove things from the product, or people get pissed for having paid for an empty promise, and then the retailer gets angry, etc. etc.

    Adding things is another matter. Nobody ever gets mad about that. Can't guarantee we will, or how we would even do that, but I'm asking anyway :). I already get the "oh here he comes again" looks from the people responsible. Business is not my department, but I can assure you that the community voice on this forum and on comment threads on gaming blogs/websites does get heard.

    Only you're not removing anything if you elimitate Hardcore Mode from the "special" edition, because I'm willing to bet my nutsack that it comes with an unlock key for content that is already on the disc. It's there and everyone has access to it. It's just being held back for ransom and frankly, it's a dick move.

    That is excellent news.. finally, a date! My pre-order with a UK retailer (no money taken upfront:D) has been pinned to my fridge since the 17th of October! i look forward to it!

    Well what they can do it give it in the limited edition and then give it as a free download on steam, XBLA and PSN. That way people can't bitch about their pre-orders, but the later buyers aren't punished.

    This is from Metro's facebook page. I thinking there will be a change to preorders hopefully...hint.hint.

    So a game developed by Ukrainians, published by Germans which has a Dutch Community Manager is now being released in America first?

    That makes perfect sense to me. Not that I care because I can always VPN in ;)

    Europe is always last. But at least 90% of our releases get better boxart.

    And are more expensive because the prices are $60,- in NA and €60,- in Europe, even though the € is worth more.

    Good news - I was hoping to hear that the game is delayed. The more polished it is at release, the better. Sucks to hear about the pre-order stuff and the unfair release date.
    Not to mention that the Russian series the game is based on has had only one book published in English, whilst (including the Universe of Metro 2033 series) five or more books from the Metro franchise have been published in Polish, Spanish, Italian and German...
