PC all the way for me, with both hands! Nothing beats paying the same money or even less, to get much better performance and your money's worth, as well as having a variety of options, customization, mods, free games and just have endless and endless fun. Whilst with consoles, it really feels like you are at the mercy of be it Sony, Microsoft or whatever other company which will run the console however they please. Not to mention that PC has the best social community.

Has to be console for me all day. PCs just don't seem like machines to be used for games to me. Too difficult to remember the controls using a keyboard or whatever. Aside from Football Manager, I don't and never would play any games on the PC. I don't get how people can play first person shooters and things on the PC... it'd just be way too complicated for me. I'm a console man all the way. :)

100% right. PC gaming is the way gaming way meant to be. People also forget that Xbox, PS4, Wii, and whatever else are ALL PCs. You can easily hook up a controller and play with a PC. You get way more for what you pay for. It just makes more sense and is a better deal. I will not be buying another console, but will be going back to my old days of PC gaming.

Pr0xx1d is 100% correct about consoles being PC's in nature. They have all of the hardware but are in smaller cases and with different operating systems. When it comes to "Controls", all you need to do is buy a USB controller and map the buttons to keystrokes, bam!

I prefer console more reason being that all my friends game on consoles. I play PC too but usually alone online, I tred to recommend some of them to play MMOs but to no avail.

This is a hard decision, but I'd go for PC. For games, I would have to go for the graphics on the consoles. But for everything else, I'd go for the PC. You can do lots more on a PC than a games console like designing graphics, playing games (as well), chatting on social networks, making websites, e-mailing and much more...

I feel sorry for you, William. You're a-lot like me in that most of the joy you derive from games is the excitement of playing with your buddies. That fact is what made me hold onto consoles for such a long time. (That and my $0.00 PC budget)

For me PCs are better than consoles. Maybe it's because I'm mostly fan of competitive games like Leauge of Legends and MMORPGs, but there are rarely any games that are better for consoles.
Still without a doubt if you are looking to have some fun with your buddies at home a console and any type of fighter game would do the trick :p

Depends on the games. When it comes to FPS, MMORPG and RPGs, I would say PC. When it comes to racing, family games, and fighting games like Tekken, then I would say console. Although, I spend more time of the PC than my console. I put more time and dedication to my MMORPG games.

I prefer PC, but at the same time I'm not all about 'PC Master Race.' Consoles have their place and can be better than a PC in some contexts. But there is nothing better than hearing the fans to my tower turn and 'feel' the PC's RAM.

I play consoles for games like Call of Duty and Madden, and I play PC for singleplayer games that are much better modded, like Skyrim and Fallout.

If I was capable of affording a really nice gaming rig, I would be a computer gamer, but as it stands they are all out of my price range. So as of right now, and until I can afford an Alienware, I'll be a console guy.

I vote both. Each system has their pros and cons. Each system also normally caters to a more specific type of game, even if both systems are capable of playing those other types of games.

For example, I own four computers. I play most of my games on them. The sort of games I play I real time strategy games, turn based, role playing, MMO's, action, shooters and so on and so forth. However, when it comes down to console systems, I find it easier to play racing games, beat-em up like Street Fighter style and side scrolling platform or 3rd person action games.

Also, in case a lot of people don't know this: console systems can run smoother graphics and effects than PC's because console systems use way less resources and its hardware is targeted for games only. It doesn't need to process anything else. PC's on the other hand not only need to load up the operating system, but it has to load up tons of drivers, initialize many background processes, your anti-virus program and a bunch of other things related to the hardware.

While both can achieve top notch gaming and effects, in the end, the PC user will need to spend more money to upgrade its hardware to be as smooth sailing as those on the console. The biggest difference of course is that you can do much more on the PC than a console.

Oh by the way, no one needs an Alienware computer to run top notch graphics for games. If you have some patience and some technical knowledge, you can make a very good computer for more than half the cost of an Alienware PC.

PC all the way. No competition honestly. You can do everything that a console can do and more.

The problem with console gaming is that the price and the cost of game has increased so the price between the two.

For the price of a console and a few games, you could easily have a computer that would last you for at least 4-5 years. I think it's a much better deal honestly..

If we are going to talk about practicality, I prefer PC than console as you can do a lot of things with PC than with console. Sure, you may have to spend more on a gaming rig, but you are not just limited to gaming as you can do a lot more with it, and you'll probably be using it for the next 4-5 years before you upgrade to the next technology available.

Consoles can only achieve what is loosely considered top notch gaming for the first 2 years of their lifespan. After that, the games must be watered down graphically to still be capable of running on them. By then PC hardware has shot far past them in performance, while they stay the same.

Also, the cost of PC upgrades (despite it not actually being that expensive) is equalized by the fact that PC games themselves are much much cheaper than console games. You save more money over time with PC because of bundles, steam sales, etc.
