I'm sure you can lure pigs with carrots or something to your house. If you're smart you should've built a cage or something. Then you just lure a couple of pigs into the cage and let them reproduce. Beware, the cage should be big enough since those can glitch if it gets to crowded.
Source: I did this with chickens, a lot easier to catch and hold + they give feathers and eggs.

Depends where I play. If I'm playing locally, then I normally eat bread. If I am playing at AWNW, then I eat Cooked Potatoes. Cooked Potatoes are my favorite food in reality, so why shouldn't I be eating it in Minecraft? If only I could add flavors to it which after eating it, would give a bonus for a short time. Eg: +1 attack for the next 10 minutes.

Nice, but aren't cooked potato's not that good at restoring hunger? you would be better off making a pig farm or something instead of finding and planting the potato seeds in the first place.

The funny thing about animals in Minecraft is that I have trouble killing them for food. Haha, I know this is silly, but I end up making a pig farm just so there is a pig farm. However, I have to admit that when I start a new game, meat is definitely the best way to combat hunger quickly.

Wheat and bread. It's easy to grow and they grow fast. If you have a huge enough farm you won't go hungry as long as you live.

Yeah I know you can lure pigs but what I’m trying to say is that you're going to have 100 pigs so you're going to need to waste like 50 wheat for them to reproduce and still have the same amount of pigs left

Why would you want so many pigs? I think 10-20 are enough. You're not that fat right? Are you addicted to bacon??

I use bread as my main food source in Minecraft. I actually built an automatic wheat farm which is really useful. I get like 3 or 4 max stacks of wheat every time I collect my wheat which gets me a lot of bread.

I go hunting, if not then fishing would be the next thing on my list as a way of surviving where food is concerned.

At the start, I kill some animals to get food started and try to get some seeds. After getting some seeds I grow wheat to make bread and use it as my main food source. When I find a village I get potatoes and carrots, which I use as my main food source. The advantages are that they both drop 1-4 potatoes or carrots when they are fully grown. Potatoes restore half a bar, cooked potatoes restore two and a halve bar and carrots restore two bars. If I go with potatoes I always cook them because it restores more hunger. But I prefer carrots over potatoes because you don't need to cook them like potatoes but still get two hunger bars per carrot.

I don't understand why people don't really use carrots. They are fast to grow and still give some hunger. The hardest part would be the part where you need to find them. I only found them a few times in a chest and even less in wild while killing zombies.

My starting project to get food is always getting two pigs to make a pig farm, and for that I first need to get some wood to make the tools and the fences. :p

Pigs are also a primary source of food for me. I have pig farm in my base and I breed them a lot. I have a lot of pigs and they make me some good food to eat in Minecraft.

I usually make myself a pumpkin pie factory by getting some pumpkin seeds, chickens to produce eggs and sugarcane for the sugar then produce large amounts for my mining expeditions.

I'm never satisfied with my spawn, so I usually will travel a good distance from it when I start. I like to explore a lot and venture off into the distance often anyway, so I don't have too much trouble finding animals to kill often and almost always end up with a sizable store of meats after an outing. I may make a farm after I've settled down a bit more, but that usually isn't for a while.

Seems nice. They are really filling right? Although, how long would you be busy with producing enough pies.

I don't know why, but I really love beef! That's why I have a cow farm. I breed the cows in an enclosure. I kill some of them when their population increases by a lot and then I cook the beef in the furnaces in my treehouse. Breeding the cows also takes a lot of wheat, so I have wheat farms as well.

Like what seems to be the most popular food here, I usually stick to bread. It's easy to grow and feeds for quite a bit. Otherwise, steak is a close second, as cows are usually most common for me and the main animal I hunt.

How do you get cows to come to your base? Do you make a base near cows or do you let them follow you while holding a bit of wheat? I'm really interested in this because I want to do it too. I've only did this with chickens so far since chickens lay eggs which you can take.
