You can see I've been drinking a lot of Yogi tea lately. There's a quote on each label, you see. You know, those little squared paper-pieces on the thread that you hold to do the T-bagging. I've been saving them up. Some of them I have as many as three of, and I skipped writing down quite a bit of them because some of them I just don't like or disagree with. But most of them are just so wonderful I totally sound like some hippie now, right?

 

I was browsing an askreddit thread a little over a week ago (I don't remember the topic), but there was this guy who had been walking down by the Seine in Paris.
Like any over-excited tourist he was staring up at all the wonderful architecture, the Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, all that good stuff. That was, until he felt a squishy sensation under his shoes. He soon realized he had stepped right in the middle of a dog shit. An older French man noticed this, and said "tsk, when all you do is stare at the stars, you are bound to find your foot in the shit". This was actually very wise, the way I see it. It makes me think of how many people are only concerned about the red carpet and the celebrities in the spotlight while they are working their way deeper and deeper into debt by trying to mimic the extravagant lifestyle of the stars. There are probably more cases that the quote would apply too.
What makes this quite so awesome to me, is how it is based on such an everyday occurence and captures something quite essential. Not one of those overly academic quotes. Just real advice, son.
