Role-play part 5

*I walked in silence with the rest of the guys, glad to be leaving that place and trying to put it in a far of place in my mind. so much evil for the sake of it. instead I let my mind drift back to the Zone and its clear nights, the blowouts and fall-outs and all the perils. It was a dangerous place, but it was were I had honed my abilities and where I'd found the real me, and it would always hold a special place in my heart*

'if memory serves me right we'll be arriving to Pavelestkaya within the hour. not much there now, since the satanists visit at least. after that is Hanza. I have no problem with Hanza since I do lots of business with them. If we are going to Prospekt Mira, Hanza stations would be the quickest way to go'

 

I suddenly felt an awful urge to just lay down on the ground and relax in every possible muscle, including my constantly working mentality. I was tired. I was angry. I was desperate. I was in great sorrow, and perhaps even more than that. I had all these feelings at once, which made them all make each other fade away. If there was a maximum 100% feeling-level in my brain, then every feeling in me would be on twenty percent. I knew they were all there, but they were contrasted against each other, so they sort of illuminated each other. They faded each other out. Like a storm inside me would pull me in one direction, I was now filled with several storms which all went in different directions in my body, which made me shake and tremble, but not really pushed anywhere. I snapped out of it after a while of walking when Odessa started talking.

"Hanza would be an excellent choice of travel. Quick and relaxed. We would be in your debt if you could get us on a train, Odessa".

 

'I reckon that wouldn't be much of a problem. I have a few associates in Hanza, and a train ride is quite a reasonable exchange for a H&K MP5 and a few suplies, throwing in a slug for the boss. We should be there in about two hours if we hurry up'

*as I said this I could see the lights of Pavelestkaya in the distance. I sped up my steps and made my way towards the station*

 

Seeing the light of a station was oddly comforting. Even in it's red emergency lights, Paveletskaya was a welcome relief. Being in a pitch black tunnel for extended periods of time was unnerving, despite the fact that we all carried flash lights.

"Now that I have a silenced FAMAS, I may trade in my old AK-105; the bullets from that trade should be able to keep us fed and well-equipped"

 

The devastation of Paveletskaya station was still unmistakable and smoke was still rising from the smouldering remains. Here and there survivors had started to rebuild and salvage what could be found in the wreckage. bodies were dragged to big heaps and burned. It was not a place I wished to linger on. I listened to the others talking about going through Hanza

"I-if we are going to Hanza I might be able to call in some favors from some friends, so we shouldn't have to worry about neither food nor supplies." So no need to give away that AK, anatoli" I said with a faint smile.

 

*I looked around the devastated sation. blood spatters could still be seen on the walls and floor, but the survivors were making haste with the cleaning. I approached an old guy standing guard near the tunnel entrance and after a brief conversation with him I took out a couple of medkits, some ammo, a few rations and my H&K MP5 and gave them to him. slowly I made my way back to the group*

'Mikhail is a friend of mine. he was away when all this happened and now he can't believe that his beloved station has been desecrated like this. I reassured him that, for now, they wont have to worry about statanists coming back. he'll have more use for the MP5 than me and a good weapon is always welcome on these parts. I might be loosing good trading material, but he certainly needs it more than I need currency' I said to the group.

'however, I think is best if we keep going towards Hanza. at this rate, we should be there soon, and once there, we can either rest for awhile, or go straight to Prospekt Mira. Anatoli, there is no need to trade your AK-105 if you don't want to, I think between Sergei and myself, we have enough supplies to trade and favours owed to us to make sure we can get on a train to Prospekt and that we can get ourselves ressuplied and well fed and rested once we get there'

 

"That was a brave and humble deed you did there, Odessa", I said, trying to get our thoughts onto something else than the blood and tears surrounding our aura. It was difficult not to walk in blood ninety percent of the time, and it was difficult to get my mind onto something else when I could constantly feel the thick liquid holding my boots stuck for each step I took.

 

'nothing anybody else wouldn't do' I said as I continued walking.

*soon enough we were within reach of Hanza. I could see a light at the end of our current route and stop for a brief moment to talk to the guys*

'here we are, Hanza at last' I said indicating a point of light about 20 metres in front of us. 'once we get there, let me talk to the guards. I'll get safe passage for all of us and will check about that train ride'

*with that I rolled up a smoke, lit it and continued walking towards the Hanza sentries*

 

"Since you've all seem to have the trip to Mira covered, I'll promise to get you all warm beds when we get there. Maybe two or four sausages for breakfast, and a hot mug of chocolate if I'm lucky." I said as I followed the rest.

 

U sure as hell got far, new faces, new actions, and since i wasnt active on the forum i got left behind, no worries ill come back dis time, jus so u kno i wasnt with u guys anymore, i somehow got somewhere else(what im going to do is make up some stuff that i did while u where continuing your story and will meet you later) but gimme a rundown of what happened so far hmmm ?

Anyway, I can't really give you other summary than that Andrey's been burned, and we're now heading towards Prospekt Mira to gear up before our next quest. I've not participated that much myself lately, you see...

 

Von Streff suddenly got so busy that he couldn't even leave the roleplay in an IC way, so I guess we lost him back in the Satanists' station or somewhere before that somehow.

 

*Near Plykovska Station*
Quite while has passed since i met my brother, I though him as my enemy for trying to kill me a couple of times but all he did was to destroy the Reich from the inside, he managed to do so, to some extent, but his cover was eventually blown when the Reich decided to attack a few stations and he helped the defenders stave them off and they where grateful for it.
I met my brother while traversing though the surface in search of my old comrades that i fought and bled alongside, some of their memories still linger in my mind, death, it always chases after you; like your own shadow. I've teamed up with my brother to protect whats left of our people, we've always sought that, we just had different methods. He told me that he, changed, not just physically but also mentally, he sees the world in a similar way to me, dark ones, humans we are all the same and we try to coexist with them as best we can. He changed his identity so that Reich spy's don't kill him, people used to call him Raven and i started to call him the same.
"-Raven, our last mission was a success, the Reich didn't see us coming and we managed to buy Plykovska station some extra time to set up proper defenses, i think we deserve some rest right now, i'm exhausted, we've been on the road for a long time.
"-Vlad, there's no rest for the wicked, but you are right, we deserve some rest, i'm also exhausted, let's go in the inn, i hear they got comfy beds, and good bacon 'n eggs, haha, also there's less trouble and we can relax much more easier"
"-Always thinking with your stomach ey Raven, i'll have some if you don't mind, i might have a shot of vodka too my throat is pretty dry."
"-Same for me, common lets go."
Me and Raven went to the inn, bough a room for two, was pretty cheap as a matter of fact just 5 bullets, also ordered some food and went straight to the room and i started to unpack my stuff, i took the right bed as usual it looked much better than the other one. We both felt the need to sleep maybe this time i won't have any more nightmares....

"-Ey, Vlad food's here, come get some while they are still warm, also that vodka we had arrived as well, damn this stuff is good."
"-Raven, don't you dare drink all of it, i'm going to kill you if u do, also don't steal any of my bacon!"
"-Ye sure whatever, just come and get em."
The food smelled great and the vodka tasted like heaven, we deserved this. After we finished we hopped on into our beds and called it a night, i slept in seconds, felt so tired.

Did i loose my touch or do i still have it xD?

 

*I walked forward to the sentries, scanning the faces of those there until I saw the man I was looking for. he was about 50 years old, an experience soldier who joined Hanza five years ago, after the reds destroyed his home station. I went to him and started telling him about our little group and what we were up to and after. at first he seemed a bit dubious of my tales of bravery and sacrifice of this ragtag unsuall group, but after having a look at the guys waiting for me, he relented and finally agreed to let us all through and get us a place on the train to Prospekt. we agreed the price, 50 MR, 5 medkits, couple of army rations and a packet of smokes I got from the satanist station. with that done I went back to the guys*

'right, sorted guys. It seems we are gonna be travelling to Hanza in style. the train leaves in twenty minutes, so I suggest we make our way to the platform and wait there for our ride'

 

I felt like I'd always thought the soldiers felt when they got picked up by helicopter after a mission - you know you're not safe yet, but you can't help the feeling that you're home safe. My face was dirty like a miner's from the walk, and I was actually quite tired. Not exhausted, but tired to my bones. As I looked at the group I gave a short thought to where Vlad and Steven had gone, but I knocked it out of my head. They're probably fine, I thought, as we moved closer to the warmth of the station.

 

As we walked past the man who had let us in, I sent him a deep look into his eyes for a few seconds. I could not see anything else in him than seriousness. "Let us go to the platform, yes. We would not want to not catch our transportation mechanism, would we now?", I said. Having so much adrenaline earlier, made me now feel like a heavy sack of potatoes. Each step I took felt like my boots were made of magnetic metals and the floor was of another metal. I felt like collapsing, but knowing that we were soon at our destination, I kept walking.
