    second time.

The air was cold as I trudged through a large patch of mud, I couldn't help but shake the feeling i was being watched. My instincts were telling me turn around and and find out who or what was following, but I disregarded them and continued pressing forward. A building stood out in front of me, holding the haunting beauty of the old world. I stopped and looked around noticing a large crack in the ground that opened back up into the metro, I cautiously stepped next to it, and looked down. 'its not too far of a drop' I thought to myself.
I paused when I heard something behind me, I spun around bringing up my duplet.'nothing' I thought'getting paranoid about nothing jack, never a good sign'. I turned and lowered myself carefully using old cables into the metro's tunnel's. I stopped as I heard a familiar noise, I looked up as I heard a growl,'oh no', a nosali was right on the ledge were I had been, it then swiped the cable I was using. I fell hard onto the ground as darkness clouded my vision.

If some sees a word or something missing please tell me as i tend to type and think, and thus miss words or periods/commas.

Why don't you just read through it after your finished and find the mistakes before or after you post? It's what I always do.

After a while, the tech whiz signalled to follow him through some tunnels leading to... A train. I had seen trains before, but they were either post-apocalypse or dysfunctional due to lack of maintenance. This one looked sparkling compared to anything else I'd seen.
Hiding my amazement I stepped into the train, almost throwing myself on the comfy seats. I suppose you could compare my feeling to that of a broke kid sitting in a Gallardo at a car expo. Nice ride.
After a while of checking out the features of the train, my mood suddenly changed. I had noticed Alek, manically cleaning his SKS, before putting it down and pretending to be asleep. It was obvious that he had cried. I was never good at dealing with other people's sadnees. I'd much rather try to cheer them up, but people didn't always like that and considered me careless. So I just went and sat next to him, seeing if he was willing to open up a little.

Nikolai had just sat down next to me. I quickly straightened myself up, trying to not appear like I have just cried. I didn't want to show any form of weakness towards these rangers and stalkers.

"It's been a long day. I've been on the move since Partizanskaya station. I was a Hanza citizen but a fortnight ago." I give a hollow laugh, hoping no-one catches onto my forced nature. "Now, I'm a fully fledged communist revolutionary."

I stare at the leather bound of Hamlet, before realising it's not meant to be out. I quickly grab defensively the book, and stuff it inside my bag.

"It's my copy of Hamlet. Rare here I know, but I couldn't bear to sell it. No amount of MGR in the world is worth this. For sentimental reasons you know?" I laugh awkwardly, before realising how stupid I sounded.

"I'm fine. I don't know why you look so worried."

The dead body of my father lay before me, the heavy weight crushing me. The fascists will be back for the goods I know. My sister's wailing won't stop but I can't get up. The heavy thuds of the Fascists boots are closer by the second. I force myself out, and grab my sister and crawl underneath the bed.

"I guess leaving Hanza was hard, but the Revolutionaries have treated me well. Hell, I've never lived so well. First time I ever had pork in my life!"

Harsh voices erupt, shouting curses and swears. I hold my breath in anticipation. Thick rubber boots stand inches in front of me. A few rounds of suppressed fire are barely noticeable. The dead fascists fall to the ground. A hand pulls the dead bodies away and signal for to come out. I gingerly get out from underneath, to see a few soldiers, with a red flag across their chest, with the name Che Guevara stencilled in black. They give sad smiles and toss a few bullets and a revolver. They wave goodbye and exit, carrying their silenced VSVs.

"Yeah, I guess you could say I led a normal life before. Not very exciting. Hunting rats for my sister and me. When she left with her boyfriend, I'd fought nosalises, lurkers and watchers. So I thought I was ready to work with the Revolutionaries. This is my first mission out."

I carry both of their bodies to the tunnels outside the stations. This is the burial ground, there are no lurkers here, only the occasional guard. I have not enough money for a tomb so I buy a bottle of 'shroom vodka and scavenge for some wood. I build a funeral pyre, and carefully lay my parents in them. I open the bottle and douse the wood in vodka. I take a long sip of the strong liquor and drop a lit match on them, the flames engulfing instantly, the vodka too strong to allow the scent of burnt flesh through. I take another sip, to prevent myself from crying. I stay there for a whole 4 hours until the flames have consumed the bodies.

"I'm ready to go to the university. The Emerald City they call it. Treasures beyond all the understanding of the metro. I'd rather see it distributed to the common people of the metro. It belongs to the people, not to the rich plutocrats of Hanza."

As I entered the train, I looked left and right. The train didn't look exactly like the ones from before the war but it still gave the chills of that from old. I had always been scared of trains though never admitting it to my friends and especially not to the group.

I gripped a pole nearby as I put a hand to my head. My mind seemed to take me else where while my body continued to hold on to the pole. An image began to take shape in front of me, the image was of me as a child when two trains collided with each other. My mother and I were saved by a piece of pole that I was hanging onto. I shook my head as the image disappeared.

I looked around for a seat that looked safe before sitting down. Several other members had already sat down before I finally got comfortable and safe. Alek sat down and pulled out a book before he was joined by Nikolai. This made me reach for my pocket and pull out my notebook. While I sat there with my notebook open I began to write down what had happened the previous few weeks, so that people may know of our sacrifice. This made think about what sacrifices Benjamin had to make while traversing these forsaken tunnels, seeing people come and go, watching people die, having to kill people's fathers, sons, brothers, sisters, mothers, daughters and best friends. All of that trouble just to protect people that don't even know he exists. Just to protect the Metro.

Alek was defensive when I approached him, almost scared. He hid his Hamlet and said he didn't know why I was worried. I was just about to say that he appeared to be going crazy when he continued to talk about the Emerald City. And he said that he didn't want my people to get it.
"Has any Hanzan ever done something to you?" I asked, slightly offensive.
I pledged allegiance to the the ideals of the Circle line. They were my employers, and had kept me under their wings since I was an orphan.
Besides, other stations could get their hands on the secrets if they would pay the price.

I notice the annoyance in his voice and attempt to explain without offending him, considering his originally calm nature.

"I lived in Hanza for most of my life and so did my parents. But when they died, I forced to fend for myself. No help was given to me. The rich didn't want to help the poor in society, but when a mew source of profit is available, they come running. I will not see them capitalise on the information that belongs to the people."

My voice drops to a whisper. "I know we said that we were here for a certain book but that's not the entire truth. We are here to collect as much material as we can then redistribute to the people for free. The 1905 Confederation and the Bauman Alliance are our main objectives. They've aided us, now it is time for us to help them. We'll also share them out at Polis, Hanza, Red Line VDNKh Commonwealth. I won't stop you from following your employees, free will comrade. All I have to say is, do they care about you or the profit you bring?"

I chuckle to myself. "Economic's a bitch. I wouldn't worry Nikolai. I'd never stop you. Hanza citizens are fine by me. though the rich plutocratic masters of Hanza, that's who I have a problem with."

I offer him a small slice of pork as a sign of peace, hoping despite our different views we could work together to survive.

His arguments were sensible, and as he offered me some pork I let it go. I ate the pork in one bite savoured the taste. Not bad at all.
"It's just competition, you know. They saw potential profit in me and therefore they helped me. The thing is, there will always be competition. Wether it's in something as natural as mating or in a large company, one will be chosen above the rest. And that ensures that only the best genes or the best skillset will live on." I said, just explaining calmly why I preferred my ways. "Oh and thanks for the pork" I added, as I checked my pistol.
Oh how I loved my P99, that stylish sliver/black duotone and the perfectly ergonomical grip almost made my mouth water. And the fact that it was a reward from the Hanzan Gangster president was a nice little touch to it.

When I descended from 'locking' the door, it appeared that the kid from before had wondered off. I would have asked someone about that fact, but the group for once began to move quickly, filing through the door with the scanner and the room beyond. I paused for just a moment to wonder at all of the fine metal working inlaid in the walls, and then followed the group through another door, this one leading onto a train platform. I stared at the appearantly fully functional train just sitting out here in the back end of no where, and then shrugged and climbed in, putting my duffel bag onto one of the bench seats near the door.

And we were off. The train started moving as soon as everyone was onboard and the doors had slid shut, without any sort of command that I saw. As it picked up speed, I watched the floodlights mounted on the front light up the tunnel before us, mostly free of the dust, decay, and debris that I had come to expect of the metro. Maybe this was the train that ran to the University, preserved after the tunnels collapsed on our side of things, sealing them off from the rest of the Metro.

I stopped watching the outside when my ears picked up Nikolai and the main revolutionary kid, Alek, talking. Alek had a general tone and pace of voice going that reminded me of myself when I was getting nervous. Whatever they were talking about, it appeared to get Nikolai angry for a few moments before Alek gave him a peace offering of some meat. I breathed in the smell of it as my mouth started to water, and then turned back to the front and shook my head. "Stay in Polis a few days and you're already getting hungry the second you step out the door, I guess" I muttered to myself, rummaging in my load bearing vest until I found a bit of leftover black bread. I took a few bites of it, and then put the rest back, having knocked the edge off the hunger.

Anton had taken a seat on the bench across from me, while Odessa and Benjamin were sitting together farther up and the rest of the group was generally spread out, sticking to the car that we had entered. From the way Joe looked to be getting comfortable, I thought the train ride might last awhile, so I unslung the AK from around my neck and made sure the safety was on before setting it on the duffel bag. Putting my feet up on the seat across the aisle next to Anton, I asked him "Is your father a Polis councilman, Anton?"

Finally we started moving as we all shuffled onto a waiting train. It was pretty neat and tidy say for a bit of dust. As soon as everyone was on the train it jetted off leaving the "terminal" we were just in. Everyone it seemed was getting comfortable so I did the same, leaning my Groza rifle securely against some seats I rested my legs on the opposite set of seats and comfortably sighed. Alek was talking to Nikolai, Benji sat next to Odessa, Melnikov rested with his duffle bag and so on...

A few of them started to eat a quick snack and I pondered the idea of either eating a snack of my own or taking a nap. However if Joe was smart he'd be explaining some shit to us as we traveled so sleeping might not be the best idea, snack it is!
Reaching into my butt pack I pull out a square wrapped in metallic packaging and a multivitamin. Tearing open the foil reveals a rock hard biscuit. With surprising effort I snap a piece off of the main block and begin the laborious process of chewing it, taking a few swigs of water to soften it up. With the biscuit bein finished I force feed the multivitamin to myself swallowing the yellow ball in one move. Not the best meal but enough to get me through the rest of the day.

After convincing myself that I was full I began to feel increasingly lazy, flopping my helmet onto the floor and stuffing the balaclava into my pack. I stroke my fingers through my buzz cut hair and rub my eyes trying to chase away the sleep. Once I did I lifted my gaze to Joe waiting for something... Anything.

Aaron, you've called Skaara's character Skaara.

As the train began to move I quickly grabbed the pole in front of me. I looked up at Melkinov and began to answer his question.
"Um, yes he served in the military and he worked in the military building above Polis, but luckily he had a day off when the bombs fell so my father, my mother, my sister and I were in the Library when the bombs fell. Then when Polis began to form my father joined the military side of it while I was mostly interested in the Brahmin side of things, which my father accepted but I was also able to work with the military since he is a council man for them. So in short he is a council member." I replied.

My head turned back to look at my hand as my knuckles began to turn white from gripping onto the pole so tightly. I let go and tried to distract myself with whatever I could.

*the train was gaining speed and I decided to relax a little, while waiting for Joe to talk. putting my ruckpack on the floor, I took out some dried pork and some coffee and ate it lost in thoughts. after that, I just lit the smoke I had roll earlier, and since no-one seemed bother by it, I just tried to enjoy a few minutes of peace*

I don't think you can seeing as they're supposed to be in an underground lab with only one way in, right?

I could the thumping in the back of my head as I woke up on what looked like a railcar, it still hurt and I wondered how I wasn't dead from that fall and the nosali. "you're awake, good." startled, I turned to see an old man. "who are you?" I asked him, he seemed well off despite being a remote part of the metro and somewhat familiar. "me!?" he asked giving a light laugh."I thought you would remember after all that i taught you, jack." he said, I stared for a moment trying to put his face to someone I knew, he looked an awful lot like......"uncle?" I asked in shock, I rubbed my eye and when I removed my hand he was gone.

"son of a bitch." I whispered, I stood up and recalled the moment when my uncle taught me russian.I stared at my uncle confusion." uncle why would i need to learn russian? Everyone I talk to speaks english well enough." I said, he gave me a stern look "Just because they speak english doesn't mean they all do, I'll be taking you to moscow for the next few months to help you learn the language AND show you just how different this world is." indeed those few months had been full of learning the entire russian language and culture. I sighed 'that was also the last place and time i saw him alive' I thought, I got up from the ground and shouldered my AK-47.'enough dwelling in the past time to move' I thought as I ran a light jog down the tunnel.

I awoke stretched out on a matress in Shablovskaya, I left Kievskaya due to the fear of heavy radiation doses, and air contamination. I flipped on my side, and folded my pillow over my ears, it was mid day in Shablovskaya, most likley night on the outside world. I looked over to our Metro clock, it was considered five PM, much later than I expected I would sleep. I sat up, and rubbed my eyes. I glanced around my room, I purchased a cheap little "Apartment" next to the main hallway.

I decided I am going to stay put for a while. But first, I need a drink, and a meal. Funny, a fifteen year old needing a drink. I approached the bar, and walked up to the counter.

"One of the brews, and a plate of pig skin."
    "You look a bit young."
    "Is there any law?"
    "No."

He then walked to their "Tap" and poured me a brew, I then sat down and waited for my pig skin. It was rather good food, and brew. I then rested back on my chair, and wondered how those men I saw in that basement were doing...
