I will try getting my character to meet with Ranger jack 312's since his is alone in a tunnel. If he's not ok with it or does not respond, my character can simply walk away and meet someone else at another time, he just comes and goes. I also need a few more posts to reach the minimum needed in order to send him a private message.

In the dark, I am crouched over a pile of debris at the edge of the tunnel, about three hundred yards ahead of Jack. Despite not having a light on, I can sense, rather than see, the tiny specks I am digging in the dirt for. Cockroaches scuttle away as I finally dig deep enough to expose a tiny seed, a watermelon pip, that had been packed firmly under the trampled layers of dirt and filth as thousands of people fled down this tunnel years ago.

Showing no emotion at the discovery, I pull out a jar, unscrew the lid, and add the seed to my collection.

There is a living creature approaching, so my head turns in that direction to scan the darkness, but otherwise I remain exceedingly still. Even the tattered rags of my Fourth Reich uniform do not flutter in the windless tunnel.

I stared at the mysterious man who seemed to be digging in the dirt for.....something, I carefully approached him from behind before raising my weapon." identify yourself." I ordered calmly, though inside I was slightly nervous, these tunnels were supposed to be mostly abandoned.

sorry about not posting to often, I'm currently dealing with graduation from high school.

I was tossed into a holding cell for the night to cool my boots. When I awoke in the morning my father was sitting across from me on the other side of the bar lined wall. I did not get a good look at his face last night as my vision was clouded by red. And it seems as if I will not get one for a long time, the swelling is immense. I really did a number on his face. But he deserved it, the bastard. I sit up on the stained and worn down mattress. A piece of bread and a mug of water sit in front of me on the floor, but I do not touch them as I am not hungry. And even if I was, the food would not stay down for long as my current situation made me sick to my stomach.

"Morning. Glad to see you are awake. They didn't rough you up too bad, did they?", he asks, almost genuinely.

"Ironic words coming from you.", I reply with a scoff and a smirk.

"That it is. That it is my boy.", my father comments with a sigh. "You get that hatred out of your system yet?", he asks.

My face drops all emotion and I squint at him, wondering what balls he must possess to have the bravery to say such a thing. Or maybe it was just stupidity. Either way, his question could not go unanswered.

"Why don't you hand me my revolver and find out.", I reply.

He frowns, looks to the floor, and nods his head a few times.

    "Fair enough.", my father groans.

Getting to his feet, my father slowly walks towards the door. Before leaving, he turns to me, his mouth ajar, as if he wanted to say something but the words halted upon his tongue. He closes his mouth and reaches for the handle, turning it slightly before looking back to me. Again he possesses the balls to ask another stupid or brave question. I still have not figured out which it is.

"You realize I had good reasons for what I did, don't know? You do know that, right?", he ponders aloud.

"The way I see it, there is no right reason for a man to leave his family.", I reply.

And with that note, my father leaves and I return to the comfort of the mattress. What reasons would -- no could, what reasons could he have for abandoning us? Abandoning me, abandoning mother, abandoning Yu-- Yuri! Where is he?! I had completely forgotten to ask my father about his condition and location. I sit up from the mattress again and move over to the bars. Gripping my hands around two bars firmly, I violently shake them in an attempt to free myself. But alas, just as before, my efforts to escape are futile. Not long after this, two masked security officers enter the room. They order me to stand back as they unlock the cell door. Seeing as I am unarmed and the two of them are carrying Kalashs, I put following their instructions in my best interest. The duo are quick to remove me from the cell and together the three of us walk down the hall and into a tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is a par of double doors. As we get closer to the doors, I can hear the roars and cheers of voices. My escorts push open the doors and one, or maybe both, of them shove me into a room. Once inside, I am immediately blinded by a bright light. What is this place? Where am I? Where is Yuri?

I turn, still slightly crouched, to face Jack; but still do not say a single word. I am utterly mindless and have long lost the ability to speak. However my tattered uniform still bears a nametag with the surname 'Dolgov' stitched onto it.

I give Jack the blank stare of a living zombie, if only to keep my senses focused on him in case he decides to fill my soulless flesh with lead. I am completely unarmed. I do not notice or care that my mouth is slightly open and a trickle of drool slowly runs down my chin.

Private message incoming Ranger jack 312...:)

I stared at the man who only gave a blank stare back, there was thin line of drool coming from his mouth that he didn't seem to care about, i lowered my weapon before examining his clothing, it was mostly in tatters but i could make out the resemblance of a 4th Reich uniform.

I offered my hand after seeing he was unarmed."names jack." I said, before I noticed his nametag 'dolgov'.

    It's just drool, not blood.

For a few seconds, I continued to stare and drool idiotically at Jack. Since he was not being threatening, I lift my arm clumsily and mechanically, before plopping my hand into his and allowing him to shake it. A few clods of dirt come off my fingernails which haven't been trimmed in months.

while shaking his hand I noticed how badly off his unhygienic hands were, along with the rest of him, I patted my hands slightly while thinking what do. I turned slightly, looking down and remembered from my map that there was a station exit just roughly a half mile trek down the tunnel, I looked back up at Dolgov who was still staring, at least I assumed he was.

"so dolgov." I began."my guess is that your also heading to the university, Right? so how about sticking together on our way to it eh?" I asked, despite the weird and slightly unsettling feeling he gave, something was telling me I should bring him along, Ive always trusted my feelings on matters like these.

I did not speak. Even when Jack turned slightly to look down the tunnel, my gaze remains disconcertingly fixed on the spot he previously occupied. Since he is not a threat and no longer touching me, I conserve my energy by maintaining interaction and movement to an extreme minimum.

Good. Very good. He's going the direction I need to go and has a weapon. I wordlessly turn towards the university and begin walking, slowly at first so that Jack can take the lead, my jars clinking rthymically with every step.

Not sure if we should hang on a bit and give a few days to the others to post. Might not matter since we are in a different location.

I agree, I was posting sparingly since i didn't want to out post everybody to the university.

I hurried slightly to get in front of dolgov since he didn't have a weapon to defend himself, that also sparked the thought of how he got here and how he hasn't died by mutants or humans yet, I figured it wouldn't do any good to ask since he had yet to speak or even give a 'hm' to my question. but he had started to walk toward the exit I had pointed out, so I assumed he agreed to working together, I only hoped we didn't run into to much trouble.

edit: Aaron posted before me, but yeah I didn't want go to fast seeing as I didn't know how long you all were going to be in that lab.

Sorry for my absence recently as well, I don't really know why I've been absent. Possibly because of Last Light ;)

Alek soon discovered the suspiciousness in the mission we were performing, which I had not really thought of myself until now; Could Joe actually be luring us into a trap, using Vladimir as an excuse for us to help him get a hold of the weapon-parts, seeing that he can't get them on his own? It would have been the perfect plan, come to think of it. He would have to put up quite the challenge if he wanted to throw us off in the end though.

Nikolai defensively stood up beside Alek as if supporting his suspicions. "Joe has a powerful enemy who is already working on getting a hold of that book and the parts for the weapon. We are on this train to prevent that, bit by bit", I told Alek and Nikolai from my seat behind them. Despite the determinedness in my voice, I could not help but to think anything else than 'Could Joe actually be Vladimir?'

When Benjamin raised his voice from his seat, I could at first not make total sense of what he was saying. But then the dime dropped: It was as a preemptive strike, taking the book before it could fall into the hands of some bad guy. But everyone could make up a character like that, and I was still not entirely sure about Joe's plans. I thus remained beside Alek, not letting Joe go that easily.

hmm, hadn't I already said my story before? I didn't feel like letting the entire revolutionary army knowing. "Okay, here's how it is. There are a type of mutant in the metro from ww2 experiments. They're stronger than anything else in the metro. On top of this I'm a former weapons designer for Russia. One of my two partners was killed, the other one wants to harness the mutants power for himself." I got up from the chair and into a seat. "the books contain the only location for parts of an antimatter cannon that can kill them." I walked up to Alek and put my hand on his shoulder. "would you like more proof?"

What Joe said surprised me. Either he had not been very descriptive when we were in Polis and he told us about the mission, or I simply had failed to understand it properly. I had all along thought we were gathering parts for a weapon that Vladimir was going to use to take control of the metro. But it seems, now, that he is going to use the weapon to... control the almost invincible mutants? It all seemed strange and unfamiliar, but those two words were fairly familiar to me either way..

The calm and comfortable atmosphere of the train seemed to suddenly go sour as the young Alex jumped up from his seat and began to threateningly accuse Joe of being a terrorist, using us to collect the parts and tools necessary for him to complete his sinister task. The accusations flying around seemed to be quite heavy and made one think indeed. The Hanzan elite stood up and took place beside Alex backing up his accusations. He together with his two Revolutionaries made an intimidating swarm. Nikolai let his AS VAL dangle openly on his chest in a show of willingness to let the lead fly if need be.

I stood up from my reclining position on the trains seat and stood tall facing the whole ordeal, looking back and forth from Joe and Benji as they tried to sort it all out. It did as from what I could hear sound like a likely plan. Just as likely as Joe telling the truth. But did this Joe really posses such guile? I don't know.

Guilty or not I gripped the handle of my sawd-off firmly in my left hand and let it dangle at my side. Eventually I eyed Nikolai and gave him a death stare. And with a shake of the head so small and subtle only he would understand it. If that capitalist pig dared to raise his weapon towards Odessa!... Well, regardless of whatever happened to anybody else on that train, he and I weren't going anywhere.

Totally not an "Inglorious Bastards" reference in there...

sorted the browser out. it seems that Norton 360 and IE10 clash somehow, and Norton will stop IE10 from working.

*from one second to the next the atmosphere in the train changed. the calm before the storm people used to say in the old days. Slowly I got up from my sit, observing the argument developing between Nikolai and Joe. Maybe there was a hint of truth in what they were saying, maybe Joe was telling the truth, whatever it was I knew I would have to keep a very close eye on them from now on. as things got worst I slid my hand towards the safety of my Sig and undid it slowly. Benji was trying to calm things down and Vos was eyeing them cautiously. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Vos shaking his head very slightly to Nikolai and giving him a death stare. I smiled to myself and thought that if Nikolai and his friends didn't head Vos' warning, they were in effect the dumbest people in the metro ever. Gena mighgt have been lost inside Vos' mind, but that little gesture showed me there was still hope for him.*
