As I kept shooting at the Watchers, I noticed Dolgov climbing on a nearby ladder. Coward. I yelled "Jack, either keep shooting or give me that rifle of yours, I can't keep this bastards off our asses with just two handguns." 'I should've brought something with more firepower,' I thought as I shot one of the Watchers in the head, killing it. One down, one to go. Maybe I didn't need Jack's fancy guns after all.

As soon as the first Watcher died, I began climbing down the ladder. The surviving Watcher immediately realised it was outnumbered, and turned to flee.

Ignoring both it and Prizrak, I walk over and tug Jack's arm over my shoulder, trying to help him upright.

*finally the train came to a stop and we got off. Jet's body tensed and she looked around with eyes wide with wonder and alarm. Slowly I scratched her ears to calm her down and looked around myself. everything seemed to be so out of synch with the normal metro enviroment that at first I thought I was in some kind of dream, but soon I came back to my senses and could not help but feel uneasy. there was something wrong here, and I had learned long time ago to trust mine and Jet instincts. I did not like this one bit*

'what is all this Joe?' I asked him slowly.

I coughed hard again as I dropped my AK and reached behind my back, grabbing my duplet I tossed it to Prizrak. "Catch!." I shouted and started to cough again, this time, a few tiny flakes of blood ended up on my glove. I was vaguely aware of dolgov trying to haul me up.

On hearing Jack cough, I reach into a pocket and retrieve a fresh gas mask filter, and then reach around to attempt to unscrew the one on Jack's mask in order to replace it and help him breathe easier. I continued to support him while plodding in the direction we were originally travelling in, trusting that Jack would recognise the University when we saw it.

I also attempt to move in front of Prizrak so that he could rely on my enhanced senses to detect threats early, and where I could be more useful. Still, I pause for a split second to regard the dead Watcher. If I wasn't in a gas mask myself, I would have started to eat it...

I screwed in the new filter and gave a nod of thanks to dolgov, I wasn't sure why he was eying the dead watcher, but still...... I stopped suddenly."Wait, Wait!" I coughed out. "we have to wait for prizrak, we cant just leave the man." Once again despite just meeting this person, I still considered him a comrade, And a fellow stalker, and in my book you don't abandon your comrades for anything. I guess that's one of the reasons I had Semper Fi tattooed on my arm, Though half the 'm' and all of the 'r' were missing now due to the cuts left by the demon.

The second Watcher fled the second I put a bullet in it's friend's head. But I wasn't going to let it get away. I fired both shells at the Watcher, but missed. I sighed, "Bastard got away.". I turned to see Dolgov dragging jack along with him. "We have to get you to a nearby station, somewhere we can get you medical aid." I said as I got closer to them.

Jack need not have feared that we would leave Prizrak behind since I am slowed by his weight, but I pause anyway when he does, not quite understanding why. From where I am I continue to stare after the retreated Watcher, somehow able to track its movement despite it being out of sight.

With its sharp senses, even a rat could avoid being eaten by mutants much bigger and fiercer than it. This is how I have always survived to dig and scavenge another day.

"NO!". I shouted at prizrak and immediately winced at my tone, I took a calming breath. "Listen, I HAVE to get the university, I think I might have to tell you why. but first, whats your reason for going to the university prizrak?" I asked, if I was going to tell him about my mission, I needed to know the reason he was going to the university, but whatever answer he gave, I was not going to go back to a station for medical attention. My mission was far to important to abandon now.

"Listen, I'm not telling you to abandon your quest or anything. If you don't receive medical attention, you'll never get to the university." I said.

'He doesn't understand.' I thought sadly. 'Guess I'll have to tell him any way.' I closed my eyes for a moment before opening them and looking straight at him."My mission, is to find any and all types of schematics, blueprints and even actual weapons if they've been developed and destroy them." I stated calmly."It might seem strange for a school to house weapons, But trust me their there. My Brother's in arm's sacrificed themselves to make sure I got away with this information, It wasn't much sadly, BUT it pointed to there being weapons development of some kind taking place there. Now the reason I don't want to go back is because there is another group already on their way there, I don't know who they are or what they are doing, but if they plan to use the weapons there or even just get a hold of schematics for the weapons that might be there, then I have to stop them at all costs, Even if it costs me life." I finished, I hoped he would see the reasoning behind my persistence.

I remain motionless and silent, waiting for Jack and Prizrak to finish.

"Alright. We'll go straight to the university. But first, take this." I said, as I handed him a painkiller syringe. "It's a special painkiller formula a former comrade of mine gave me as a gift. Luckily, I have a few shots of it left. It should help with your pain."

I Sighed in relief, thanking prizrak with a nod for the shot, I Injected it into my leg. "thanks, and there should be a infirmary at the university were I can properly patch myself up." I said before getting up and limping in the direction the university, I stopped for a moment and turned around. "by the way, keep the shot gun, you'll need more than just your pistols out here. Also take this." Using my good arm I tossed him my satchel that held all my shotgun rounds. "Now lets get moving, Dolgov, stick close alright?" I turned and began limping, though not as bad as before thanks to prizraks shot.

The cigar was amazing. I wasn't aware just how much flavor could be stuffed into one cigar but I really enjoyed every puff of it, and knowing that I was myself again only made it that much more enjoyful. A large smile swept across my face in a manner it seemed I had not felt in years and I could not help but grasp Odessa in my arms and squeeze the air right out of her with a great big hug. I gave Benji a nod in thanks for his wisdom as the train began to slow an pull into a station up ahead. It was about time as I felt I'd been trapped on this train for eternity, but it was probably just all that time I spent deep within myself that seemed to make time slow.

The train door slid open and everyone seemed to pour out into the awaiting room with a sigh of relief. And I know for a fact that I wasn't the first to see it as I was busy hanging the sawd-off back on my hip but it hit me just the same as everyone else. Everywhere sat all this... Excess. Technology I'd never seen in my life. Tanks, real tanks! Weapons and even some sort of mechanized suit. I exhaled a puff from the cigar into the room no longer caring about 'ventilation'. With the life support in here you could build a fire in the middle of the room and still breath easy. How many people needed such systems? The food and supplies? I'd claim it all here and now for the people of the Union if I could. Then again if they found the supplies they'd find the weapons and it would be like D-6 all over again. I still feel the need to do my duty for the Union despite what they did to me and it pains me to know I have to leave them all behind. If only I could figure out a way to take only the supplies and leave out the weapons, be an anonymous catalyst ruling from the shadows.

Ehh, what am I thinking! This stuff all belongs to Joes private collection. If I tried to give it to the people and he found out about it he'd... Have an army to face.

    Note taken.

I joined in the discomforted looks of the others who disliked Joe's set up and waited for a reasonable explanation while still secretly pondering in my head if there was a way to speed all of his selfish excess to the people of the Union. Even if I could figure out a way, would I go through with it?

Without even blinking or acknowledging Jack's statement, I begin walking again when he does. After a couple of steps, I fart in mid-stride, but also do not seem to notice. It's clear that despite having once been a proud soldier of the Reich, I've become less self conscious than a pre-war cow.

As I crept through the shadows of a maintenance tunnel, that eventually lead to my home. I began to smell a thick smoke in the air, this was my first time around here, so I have no idea what it is. We moved to Rimskaya to leave the Market crowd... But rumours are arising that Rimskaya has developed a plague... I sure hope that smoke isn't what I think it is. I reach for my GP-5, stretch it over my head, and continue on, unslinging my AK-74SU from my shoulder.
As I reached a small door, and opened it, I saw before me, my home, my neighbor's homes... Burning up into smoke.

I noticed how Voskresshiy gazed at the excess of this area. I had the same look, that same communist stare, of when someone feels that the bourgeoisie needs to redistributed. Would he be my future, someone forever lost to a cause? Is this a cause worth losing oneself for? I suppose, that for the survival of the metro it is necessary.

I gently nudge Voskresshiy. "Hey comrade." I whisper so that only he can hear me. "I see you looking at all this valuable items, wanting for it to be shared to the proletarian. I'm not going to sell you out. I was hoping we could come to an arrangement." I sit down next to him, never facing him, in order to not bring attention my plan I was about to divulge with him.

"I don't trust Joe one bit. I made a deal with him, and I'll stick to it as long as he doesn't betray me or my comrades. We're here to redistribute the goods. And as far as I see it, us communists ought to stick together. So, comrade, would you like to help me to share all we see?"

As the train finally stopped and the guys started disembarking, I felt some butterflies in my stomach. A lot of hi-tech stuff down here. Joe probably wouldn't mind if I snatched that drone or grabbed that nightvision.
It was worth too much to just be sitting here, collecting dust. It would be worth hundreds of Patrontjiki if I could find the right buyer. And I could.
Basically Nikolai is having the same thoughts as the commies, but he sets himself apart by wanting to create profit from it, compared the selfless communists.

I dropped to my knees, as I saw the communist squads going at my people like rats, I looked around hastily, dizzy, and fell into a pit... Odd, this pit of awfully soft...

    It was a mass grave.

I rose to my feet, without looking back, began to climb out of the pit... A man tried to stop me... I killed my first man, another man shot at me, I killed my second man. I had to get out of here. I threw down my pack which carried a box of cartridges I found on my way here, grabbed my AK, two cans of food, my cap, and two magazines, and a photo, and continued running. I had to get to my father's cart, and get my ass to Polis.

I lept over the small scrap metal armor, and started that shit, the line was already connected to Polis, so all I had to do was sit and watch my ass... I began to cry in the cart as it drove itself through the dank tunnels...
