I shook my head. "No, he's still alive". I looked at Boris, but his eyes were shut, he seemed to be breathing heavily. "Michailov, anything we can do for him? Benjamin, do you know anything about... well, you know so much, why don't you do something!" I yelled. "Damn it, sorry... I..." I turned and went outside, lighting a cigarette with shaking fingers. My anger was irrational, out of control, and there seemed nothing to do about it. Every situation we had faced before, we had been strong enough to overcome it, change it, but here... here physical strength could do nothing.

I recognized the look in Steven's eyes. The frustrated look you get, when you are losing someone and there's nothing you can do about it. I went out to see him. "A good friend of yours? I've lost someone to the nazis as well. But whether you decide to avenge his death or mourn him, it won't bring him back." I said.

I nodded at Michailov in a confirmingly, allowing him to check on Boris, seeing that the doctor standing beside him was still in shock, staring at the dead nazi on the ground. I glided over to the door of the room, meeting Steven outside with the other man. "There is no need for a pre-preach of Steven's future in this matter, for he has already sworn his view at how to deal with the nazis" I added as I crossed my arms in determination. "Have me excused for my interruptial approach. Benjamin Soprano, at your service. And you might be?" I asked the stranger.

"Where are my manners," I said, when I thought about the fact that I had just nonchalantly approached the mourning group, without even introducing myself: "I'm Darkbringer." I continued, as I reached out for a handshake.

I smoked on, leaning against the cool wall of what might have been an office in pre-war days. My thoughts wandered aimlessly, and I watched Darkbringer and Benjamin speak. Was he sent to replace Boris? Did fate, divine providence, luck have anything to do with that? I didn't know, and at the time I didn't care. I stubbed out my cigarette and went back to Boris. Michailov would hopefully be able to do something. But I feared Boris would never get through this.

As I inspected the mans body -His name was apparently Boris- and tried to decide what the Nazi had put into him. I took the syringe and looked at what was the rests of the content. I broke it against the edge of the bed and just gently dropped one single drop on my finger, smeared it out with another finger, and gently put it to my tounge.
"nothing new..." I said as I looked back at boris and took and measured his current pulse. His was getting pale, and he had alot of injuries since earlier events.
I closed my eyes and rose up, thinking for a little while. I turned to Ben and said:
"Im sorry, but there's nothing we could do. It's a really weak poison made out of some shrooms that grows a little bit here and there, but in the right quanteties it might be deadly. Especially if the target is weak. This is also a very cheap posion, so getting enough of it couldn't be too hard."
I sat myself down next to Boris bed.
"Nope, he's too weak. Im absolutley sure he will die. Im very sorry."

I was angry and powerless, i could not help Boris in any way after i heard what this guy Michailov just said, i clenched my fist and hit this wall made out of wood planks and some cement braking it in the process, it's how i get over excesivly emotional events and his one has no exeption, one of my friends is going to die.
I turned to the new guy and asked "Is there anything we can do to cure this, i will do whatever it si necessary to save his life, even if that means giving mine away" waiting for a respons, i kept thinking over my mission, is it worth it i was wandering, all these men where injured under my command...it's best if i left alone, i do not whant any other to die or get injured badly.

Is it me you ask? Or thuner?
"No, I'm afraid not. If there ever was an antidote, it would be too late now. Sorry." I said. I already felt a slight bond with all of these people, and I didn't feel like leaving them here. "Do you need help for your further journey? I will gladly join." I said, thinking about the fact that what they need right now isn't exactly some ranger guy thinking he will replace one of their good buddies. And yet, they aren't that big a group anyway.

As they talked, Boris' breathing slowed, and then just stopped. Luckily, it didn't seem to have been a painful end, and I thanked God for that. But for every one we lost, I felt a needle in my heart. All my friends were like family to me, and we had all saved eachother's lives on multiple occasions, so we were almost more than family. We were more than brothers.

I folded Boris' hands on his chest, and then looked at his equipment. Taking the knife, I said "Let each of us take a part of his weaponry, so that his spirit may strengthen us in our future battles, and maybe avenge his death against the nazi evil which plagues these tunnels". That said, I went back outside and smoked another cigarette. I wouldn't mourn for him yet, no, not until I had taken enough nazi lives to replace the friend I had just lost.

Just had to put the Artyom quote in there. :p

I cautiously un-strapped Boris' leg holster with the silenced revolver and strapped it onto my own leg before I gently closed his eyelids with my thumb and index finger. "From earth thou have come, to earth thou shall go" I said. An over-used old poem, but at that moment, it felt right to say it. I opened his backpack, completely full of military-grade cartridges. I grabbed one fourth of them before I signaled for the others to take some of their own as well. "I take these in appreciation and regret, as your last friendly deed" I said before I slowly walked back out of the room. I had some business to attend to.

I took four of the cartridges, and took two of those I took and placed it in the dead mans, cold, hand.
"I might now know you, but you still need to pay the ferryman." I didnt take naything else from him. It would feel disrespectful too take anything from a dead stranger, even though I know that people dont bother when living in the metro.

I made my way to the market of Cursed. With my cartridges that I would rather spend, instead of having them to remind me of Boris. I would never forget Boris, but being reminded of him, was unnecessary. And then I saw it. The big, long rifle on the shelf. It seemed to have a stationary scope on the top, that was buildt into the rather tall rail. "What kind of weaponary is that?" I asked the mercenary in wonder as I pointed at it. "This baby?" He said, lifting the weapon down from the shelf, petting it. He was a rather small man that seemed to have trouble lifting it.

"This is an HKG36K" he said slowly and clearly. "It's one of a kind in the Metro, I believe. It has an in-buildt long-range scope, and a mag with a huge capacity. 500 cartridges, plus 50 with a grip" he said proudly. I handed him all the cartridges I had. It wasn't enough though. "What about half of these, and this?" I said as I pulled out the compact P90. He seemed unbelievably surprised as I pulled it out and put it on the counter. His eyes widened and his mouth shut wide open. "Deal!" He said quickly, grabbed my hand and shook it eagerly.

I handed him the rest of my ammunition, as he handed me a lot more, that fitted to the rifle that he handed me with a groan when lifting it. "You take care of my baby now" He said seriously with his russian accent as he handed me the grip as well. "I will do so" I answered and hooked it on my backpack after I had attached the grip onto the lower rail. I bought some more filters as well before I headed back to the others.

    HKG36K btw:

"Okay people" I began "Where to now? I think I might have relations in Rimskaya, if my slowly returning memory serves... We could go straight from here, South, to Kitai-Gorod, then Tretyakovskya, and then East to Ploshchad Ilyicha, and then it's a short journey from there".

I avoided answering Vlad, telling him how wrong he was. Because he already knew that he was. "What exactly should we be doing in Rimskaya?" I asked, as if I had voided how I told Steven earlier that I was going to leave for myself.
So, yes, it seems I might've changed my mind. Probably gonna stick with the roleplay after all ^^

As I heard Steven and Benjamin's voices, I headed back inside the hospital."Hey, what a co-incidence! I was just on my way to Kitaj-Gorod! Any chance I could join you?" I said, unable to hide the joy in my voice. I was happy to have found some travelling companions. And with Benjamin's newly acquired G36K, we wouldn't go down on equipment. And these were hard men. They seemed like they had been through so much together that they were beyond brothers.

"Well I hope you don't mind me coming with you. I got some business there with a friend of mine."
I had hoped that I could get out of this station soon enough, it was getting a bit dull.

The memories of the dead are torturing me...every step, every breath i take reminds of the lives lost that where under my command, i will not what this to happen again i will sacrifice my very life if thats what it takes to keep my brothers alive, in the memory of my family i will not rest while there are enemies about! Dispite my injuries i raised on my feet and with courage and determination as well as some humor i said "You ain't leaveing me here whilst you have all the fun, i may be injured but you do not know what im capable of in dire situations, now Steven since you know the way point us in the right directions, i will take point and alert the group of iminent danger but first i have to give you all something that wull help on the way, when your done here tell me and i will lead you to my home."

(Note: there is actually an epidemic at Rimskaya, but we (our characters) don't know that).

To Benjamin I said "I just know the name, it rings a bell, and I recall that I might have an uncle there, he's bald with glasses... not much to go on, but I hope I'll remember the rest as we travel". I looked around, saw that most of us seemed to be ready, we had ammo and some provisions. "Okay, Vlad, we will see your home".

Rodion grew bored of the seemingly endless amount of tunnel. He turned to the merchants and asked, "How long before we arrive at Market Station?"
The merchant thought for a moment and replied,"I don't know exactly, but if me and my friend here pull the lever hard enough, it shouldn't be long. Now, turn around, your being carele-"
He was interrupted by a low-hanging pipe, which seemed to have dropped a few inches due to lack of maintenance, hitting Rodion on the back of the head. His helmet protected him, but he was knocked over by the unexpected blow, and fell to the floor of the railcar. The merchants ducked and stopped pulling on the lever, causing the railcar to come grinding to a halt. They helped Rodion up.
The merchant who had been talking to him before said,"See, what did I tell you? Be glad it was a pipe and not a nosalis."
He patted Rodion on the back and sat back down. Rodion smiled weakly, and stood up.
Suddenly, noises came from behind them. The merchants turned around and then quickly turned back to the lever, and started pulling. Rodion raised his Bastard and aimed towards the rear of the railcar, panicing slightly at what seemed to some creatures behind them.
He thought he saw something moving, and fired several bursts from the Bastard into the darkness. He heard screeches and the merchants started to pull on the lever even more. The railcar had not aged well and couldn't go any faster. Rodion fired several more bursts into the darkness, in the vain hope it would hit whatever was following them or scare it away at least.
