Something about this encounter caused me to stop the cart. But looking and noticing the man was not responding nor turning around i turned on the engine and the cart continuned through the tunnel. I kept my VSV in hand just in case. But then when we were a good distance i lowered my VSV down. The man just kept walking. "What was all that about? " i slowly laughed to Benjamin.

"So, I'm not the only one having crazy visions?" I asked with a smile which felt fake. Damn, our group always managed to find the weirdest sh*t, be it in the Metro, on the surface, or somewhere in between.

"Visions.." I muttered. Christ, this reminds me a lot of that one job we did with the mad prophet. "Let's hope it stays a vision..."

I didn't like the way he said that... I didn't like the worried look which accompanied his "hope".

(Btw, the Mad Prophet story sounds interesting. Our characters should stop at some campfire, and shares stories, like in Stalker).

Sry for the absence, no wifi at my dads house.

I had paid little attention to the stranger as we approached him. There were enough guns on him already so I didn't need to point my own. I decided to concentrate more on the mission ahead, and the next time I hit a bed

I slightly smiled as Andrey laughed. "I do not know", I said. "Perhaps he was deaf, as I already have suggested".

Orange-coloured sunlight warmed my face as I strolled through the endless seas of golden wheat. My hands brushing against the ear of corns.
Ahead of me was a round opening in the fields with a tree in the middle, where a small child sat and played with his toys. He was sitting with his back facing me, but there was something familiar with him, I moved closer and as I was about to reach out and pat him on the shoulder I found myself back in the metros cold and damp tunnels, Sweating and breathing heavily.
"Just another dream", I said to myself to calm my racing heart."Or was it?", I added in my mind. There had been something strangely familiar about the boy.Though this was neither the time nor place to reflect upon the dream. shaking my head I wearily continued onward hoping to soon get out of the tunnel.

Somehow I had trouble shrugging of a hazy recollection of a cart stopping by just to be moving on som minutes later.....

So where are we? where is this tunnel leading?

We were all really tired after a day of hell for everybody. We were well far away from the stranger and when i spotted a opening where we could stop i did. It was 4 pm day. And completely dark. I got some wood from the cart and put it on this small open area. In the middle of the tracks. And took a box and sat on it. I didnt even listen to anybody. Just got out a match and little the wood. And took off my VSV and placed it next to me. I was exausted. And a little break wouldnt hurt. Even though we were a mile from Paveletskaya.

When Andrey stopped and exited the cart I wasted no time in doing the same. My ass was getting numb sitting for so long on such a crude and uncomfortable trolley. When Andrey's fire grew strong and steady I placed a small kettle over it, pulling out a small paper wrapped sackel I gave it a long and gentel inhale savoring it's mushroomy goodness. "quick pot of tea seems about right" I tiredly mumbled.

We'd arrive at the station in less than three minutes, if everything went as planned. I relaxed, tried to stretch my legs, kicked someone, muttered an intelligible apology, and shifted uncomfortably. I could already feel my heartbeat beginning to race.

As Andrey stopped the cart and made a fireplace in which Dimitri took part, I felt that it would be proper to join in as well. I got off the cart and sat down with them. It had been a long day and my hunger was growing once again. I took out another tincan, opened it and let the good smell of peaches flow into my nose. I took Boris' old grenade pin and used it to mash them with before I started eating the smooshy content with a spoon. Being in the metro tunnels was like being in some sort of coalmines. The air was cold and fresh, but also had the intensive smell of metal and crushed concreed and rocks. It had the smell of iron, the smell of being underground. The smell felt.. harsh. I looked into the fire that now had grown.

I sat alongside the one named Benjamin. My aged bones were getting to me, but it didn't stop me from pulling out a bottle of whiskey from my pack and pouring it on a shot glass. "Ah, there we go..." I muttered, as I perfectly poured the golden liquid bread into the cup. Not a single drop wasted... I drank it slowly, licking my lips after each gulp. It was a good drink, but there's nothing better than whiskey sour... I turn to the others, and said, "If anyone's interested in sharing a few stories, I think this'd be the best time."

"I assume there is time already that I tell the tale of my beginning here" I said as I slightly shrugged. "I was born in America, but my mother never wanted me, so I was sent to some Monks in Japan who gladly accepted me for some reason. There was this own sheltered sanctuary of their's there. Other children were also there. We were trained to fight each other with swords, as it puts one at test of qualification. There is a lot one has to focus on at the same time when fighting with swords. We were also taught how to control every single part of our body in any way we wish to" I said as I lifted my hand, held my fingers completely straight up at zero degrees and bent my index finger 135 degrees backwards without the help of my other hand or anything else.

"I can stop my heart from beating for as long as I want to whenever I want to. I can kill myself by sitting still. Yes, I am bragging about it, but anyone and everyone of you would be able to do so as well if you spent your whole life at that sanctuary for twenty years, like I did. But that was only the practical part though. We studied a lot as well, and the 'Elders' taught us a lot. We developed a wider vision at life, being able to see most things from different perspectives. Languages as well, including Russian. The day came when some of us were transported to other sanctuaries. I was sent here, by flight, but as the war was at hand, our plane crashed. I and two..... friends of mine, from the sanctuary, escaped along with fourty thousand others into the Metro".

I sighed. "Shortly after, they were... executed by a nazi. I managed to cut his arm off and leave him alive. Now, twenty years later, I met him again. He is the nazi officer that we kept in captivity in University, remember? He had a robotic arm, which I cut off as well". I just stopped it there. I placed my elbows on my knees and looked down into the ground with my head leaning in my hands with my dreadlocks inbetween my fingers.

The room was silent, nothing moved, not a single drop of water, not a single screech, just my boots touching the floor, it felt so dead, this is Rymskaya, it's supposed to be filled with people, not abandoned, somethings wrong, really wrong and i was about to find out why.
The path intersected and where split in 3 ways, one to the left, one straight ahead and one to the left, instinctively i took the left one and walking for 2 minutes i saw a bright light, i though there where people and i quickened the pace only to find bodies burned in piles.
The stench was indescribable, it was strong that i put my gasmask on just to breath well, but it horrored me to see this, i've seen this before, there was an epidemic in Siberia, it killed people in a matter of days and the government had no alternative but to burn the bodies in hopes of stopping it. It eventually stopped but it took most of the population with it and Siberia was almost lifeless.
It was a good thing i put my gas mask on, it could still be contagious, and i would want to die now, too much stuff to do, i have to meet the guys wherever they might be.

I decided it was a good idea to tell stories just to keep the groups mind off the fact that Stevens fate was about to be decided.

" I grew up in St. Petersburg with my mother and father in an average house on an average street. My father had always been a military man defending Kursk from the Nazi's and even seeing action in the Afghan war until he was deemed unfit to continue service with a broken hip and shattered femur "." Returning home just in time to influence me with all his war stories, so much so that I joined the Russian para's at 18 years old.

" my first combat was also my first injury. Barely one day after my arrival Fighting the second Chechen war I caught the attention of a rebel sniper while hitching a ride on a tank. After a week and a half in the hospital I was back on the line with my friends, I remember I was so mad at them. They had apparently 'cleared' the area the sniper was in minutes before I was shot and I was giving them hell for it."

" Sadly the very next day we were clearing an 8 story apartment building when Alex stepped on a trip wire. The whole floor lit up in an exhale of fire and raw power, but luckily for me I was at the back of the group and got blown out a window. Once again I was lucky, we were only on the second floor. My ears were ringing and I could hardly stand straight but I managed to stumble back up the stairs only to find pieces of cloth and flesh.

"If I had known it would be the last time I saw them I wouldn't have been so harsh but I wasn't thinking that at the time, I became enraged with the deepest level of hate imaginable and waged a personal war of genocide killing every living soul I found in that building. Guns, bombs, knife's it didn't matter how I did it. But I did. By the end of the day the building was clear and the blood of 23 men, women and children stained my skin."

" and do you know what high command did?... They gave me a platoon and a f#%king medal". Man, it took me years to get over that one...anyway, when it was all over we went back to St. Petersburg were I feel in love. That was the last time I ever left The city. We were going to go on a vacation to Mexico were I would propose to the love of my life, but war has a way of ruining things like that. Next thing I knew we were in the air over Moscow preparing to jump. Our objective was to defend the Kremlin and Red square from hostile forces with our very lives. only two minutes from our jump a nuclear blast lit up the early morning sky followed by a deafening bang, we stared in awe. Sadly our gaze was broken when the shockwave knocked us out of the sky. Only a few made it out of the plane in time me included. While we floated down the wave of destruction below leveled Moscow. hitting the ground what few of us were left quickly put our NBC suits on and ran to the Kremlin threw the rubble...days went by as we stood at the Kremlins gates. I took a head count 2 days in. 26 para's, 7 police officers, 3 GRU members a bmp and a T-90. This was not nearly enough to successfully defend such a large area. After a week the effects of the radiation started to show and the radio went silent. This is when all morale collapsed and men slowly started to wander off, I stayed. But when the tank drove off I snapped. I wasted no time in heading off to what was possibly the last stronghold in Moscow. The Metro. 4 men came with me. I still wonder what happened to the rest of those brave men but I'll never know. As for my 'almost' wife. Well, finding her is a story best not told."

" whew, that story never gets easier to tell" I happily said while pouring a cup of tea. "anyone want some?".

sorry It's kinda long. Also I know that Russain paratroopers might not have been in Chechen but it's just to make a better story. Also! Congrats if you read the whole thing!

A noise attracted my attention and I stopped and pulled out my rifle. Holding my breath I listened closer. Was that..? Yes I could hear voices ahead. I slowly moved onward and I could now see the faint light of a campfire in front of me. Around the campfire sat five-six well-armed, if somewhat rugged men.
I hesitated for a while, should I try to sneak past them or go up and greet them? what if they were bandits, or worse, Reds? They would definetly want my head, there was probably a bounty on it to make a man live like a king for quite a while.
More than that didn't I manage to think. As I kept my focus on the men around the campfire I stepped on a rat which let out a high squeak, and made me lose my foothold and I fell nose-first to the ground with a crash that could certainly wake a dead.

"So, do you practice a religion, Benji?" I asked out of curiosity, just before aaron's character's name started his story. As he finished, I nodded solemnly, just before I heard a faint crash in the background. "What was that?" I asked aloud, just loud enough for anyone who didn't hear it to notice that something was wrong. I gripped the end of my hunting rifle slowly, but firmly as my eyes scan the corners. "Or was that just me?"

sorry, I never got most of your names... or I forgot them...xD
