Roleplay Part 4

*slowly we approached an abandoned station. nothing could be heard, and only a small fire could be seen in the darkness surrounding us*

*I tuned my senses to Jet, in case she gave out any sign of danger, but so far everything seemed to be ok. I hope we might find some clues as to what we are looking for and who and what is waiting for us I thought and continued walking*

 

"A quite strange habbit you are in possession of, Sergei. You can feel it coming, I can see. That's a rare talent; you should use it", I said as I nodded in grattitude of his worthy answer. We were approaching an abandoned station with the dim light of a fireplace. It was almost like I could feel the warm flames lick my face when I saw it, despite our far distance.
(Sorry, I just had to rip that quote off from Khan )

 

'carefull guys, there is a trip wire by the first arch' I said as we were approaching the little set of steps leading onto the platform.

'let's have a carefull look around to see if we can find some more clues, and traps. and perhaps a five minute breather since we've been walking for the last three hours non stop. It wouldn't do us any good if we were all knackered by the time we reach 'em bastards' I added as my eyes kept sweping the platform looking for any more traps.

 

As we entered the station, I started searching for clues about the satanists. I unholstered my M92 and checked behind some sheets. I almost triggered a tripwire, but just managed to freeze before walking into it. I carefully cut the wire with my knife and put the grenade into my vest. Looking up, my eyes fell upon a corpse, obviously a satanist, shot by the people at Paveletskaya. He had been left here to die, no more than a couple of hours ago. I started searching his body for any clues, with succes: He had a map of something stuffed away under his shirt. There was a drawing on it, smudged by his blood. I tried cleaning off the blood with a little water from my bottle. When I realized what I was looking at, my heart started pounding away - it was a drill! I had heard rumours about villains wanting to flood Polis, but I had thought it was complete nonsense It also seemed that the map showed the way to the drill. "Hey guys!" I yelled out loud, "You might want to have a look at this!".

 

I carefully walked past the tripwire on the stairs and unhooked the HK from my backpack before I turned on the flashlight on the under-side of it. My eyes were pinned on Darkbringer who was working with a tripwire to get to a body. I walked closer to Darkbringer slowly who stood there with whatever he was holding. I quickly aimed the HK rifle towards Darkbringer and fired a burst of shots.
Don't go shooting me or anything, guys, I'm not actually shooting Darkbringer

 

What are you then? Do you hit me? :S

 

The bullets fired between Darkbringer's arm and chest, flying past him and hit the chest and upwards to the head of the man behind Darkbringer. The man had sat up and aimed a pistol at Darkbringer, but was now again lying down on the ground with blood splattered out everywhere. “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever”, I said as I slowly lowered the HK, walked around Darkbringer to the corpse and kicked the pistol a slight bit away from the body just to make sure.

 

I had been shocked by the sudden gunfire, but when I saw the corpse had been alive, I understood that I had been saved. Still shocked by the incident, I unclearly stuttered: "Tha-anks, Benja-min. B-b-but you have to take a look at this:", showing him the map with the drawings. I have to admit, at that moment I was proud of my discovery, and I anticipantly watched Benjamin's expression.

 

I walked over to Darkbringer and carefully recieved the piece of paper. I studied it and held it upside down, sideways, in any way to figure out what it might could be. "What is this strange piece of paper attempting to inform me of?" I ended up asking, seeing how I could simply not find out what it was, still turning it around in any way possible to maybe figure it out.

 

He could not figure out what it was. It was a bummer to me. "Can't you see it?" I asked, breathing heavily from the shock. I walked over next to him, seeing the paper from his side. "It's right there," I said, pointing at the drill on the paper, getting slightly frustrated. Am I going insane? I thought to myself.

 

"I see it, but I do not understand what this obstruction is?" I asked Darkbringer calmly. He seemed quite startled about it, as if it had a great importance. I could see in the corner of my eye that Andrey kept walking through the station and out on the other side. "Keep this for later" I suggested to Darkbringer before I walked over to the others. "I want to inform you all that Andrey, our devoted pathfinder has kept walking to the next tunnel. We will most likely be able to find the Satanists without his help, but it will be a lot easier and safer with it. So, shall we take the risk on staying here for a little while and risk our chances, or go after him this very moment?" I said out loudly for everyone to hear. "I for one vote to keep walking as we need to move fast to catch up with the Satanists, and there is not much of interest here either way" I said. Then I turned back to Darkbringer and said with a lower and less determined voice "Or is there?"

 

*I had watched all unfold from the other side of the hall where I was looking for more clues when I saw Andrey walk down the tunnel. I approached Benji and Darkbringer and saw they were looking at what looked like a drawing of something similar to a drill. hmmm, could it be that Dark is right about the drill? I thought after I heard him explaining his theory to Benji*

'I think is best if we keep all together. is bad enough in this part of the metro without us getting separated' I said to no one in particular as I started to walk behind Andrey.

'anybody knows if we are close to any source of water on the surface, or close to the metro underground?'

 

I sat down and watched this display happening. Simply because I was getting tired, mainly, but also because I felt that if I were to do something, it would only be four naught.

 

I watcher Benjamin and Darkbringer talk, getting more nervous the whole time. Finally, I stepped in. "Hey, let's just get a move on, it's not good to stay in one place too long" I muttered.

 

*speeding up a bit I catched up with Andrey. we walked in silence side by side when I suddenly spoted a flicker of light coming from about 10 metres in front of us. we just left the last station and knew this wasn't a light from a bonfire*

'light in front of us' I wishpered to Andrey.

*I turned to the guys and made a gesture for them to turn their lights off. turning mine off as well I crouched low and started to advance towards the light, silenced AKS at the ready. Jet had already jumped off my shoulder and was about a metre in front of me*

 

The next station we entered was deserted but just recently. Most of the group wandered and scavenged or supplies but I felt no need. So instead I took the time to sit down, light a cigarette and have a quick drink. About half way through my smoke I saw Ben shoot a man on the ground very well saving darkbringer's life. "huh, that was close" I thought to myself. I saw Andrey enter the next tunnel with the one they call 'Odessa' so I stood up and followed while I put on my insulated gloves. "Damn, it's getting cold" I once again told myself. As we walked further into the tunnel the water rose higher and higher until we were waist deep in freezing filthy water. I had to hold my gun above my head to avoid the inevitable jam that would follow if I did otherwise. "and how exactly are we supposed to find our way around after those 3 stations" I questioned Andrey.

 

As we followed Andrey through waist-deep ice cold freezing water, he said to simply "Follow the tunnels". I shrugged to myself and thought 'Why not? Simple but true.'
