*Zhenya walked up to me and asked me about our route, so I told him what I knew*

'well, about an hour from here there is a fork on the tracks. taking the left one would take us closer to Tsvetnoi Bulvar without having to go to the surface, unfortunatley, that is blocked off, so is a no go. the right fork will take us up to Dostoyevskaya. however, just before the station, about the 200 metre line, the tunnel collapsed. there is a service tunnel going to the left of the main tracks, which will take us up onto the surface, since the tunnel itself is a dead end, just an old machinery room at the end where we could rest for about fifteen minutes to check everything is in order before venturing up and out. in terms of mutties, rats, and some nossies packs wandering close the the station, nothing we can't deal with' I stopped to catch my breath and continued talking.

'last I heard, and from my last visit to this parts, no bandits or other people come this far. since the tunnel to Dostoyevskaya collapsed last year, not many people has walked down here, only crazy mutant hunters like myself and rangers ever venture here' I said to him keeping my eyes peeled in case of trouble.

Pyotr seemed to be covering our rear, and I trusted him fully enough to not be the one in the rear myself, as I usually used to be; this time I walked somewhere in the middle, but I kept close to the walls, and almost walked skewly in an angle, attempting to cover as much visuality with my sight as possible. One could never know what would jump out of anywhere. As everyone else kept their lights off, so did I. The flashlight attached at the bottom of my rifle would get to rest its batteries for now.

Returning to the tunnels brought a warm feeling deep down inside me. Other than the surface it was were I felt most a home and fitting. I kept to the middle and smoked as we trekked threw the whiney tunnels in darkness. It was just bright enough to make our way without the use of flashlights and it appeared the group knew this to.

"Anyone know what could be running in these walls?" I asked aloud softly. The silence was annoying, deafening even. I needed some way to keep it out of my ears. I had my rifle low and easy, but ready. Nothing was gong to surprise me.

As Pyotr spoke, I turned to look at the walls behind me, then back at him. "Running in the walls?", I asked.

'ghosts maybe, bugs, who knows, damp, a lot of it, and time... if these walls could talk I wonder what would they be telling us' I said to Pyotr looking at the walls.

"There is nothing here," I said. "As you know this tunnel leads to Dry Station. Nobody goes into the tunnels after it. And I doubt any mutant or bug will go into the tunnels here."

No rats were present. So that concerned me slightly. But I knew there would be nothing here of danger. So I continued to walk forward. It's been about 30 minutes since we left prospect Mira. And according to Odessa it'd take another half hour to reach the tributary at this pace.

It began to get cold. And so, while walking, I slung my bag forward and grabbed a pair of leather gloves and a old grey hoodie from before the war. I put on my gloves and put on my hoodie over my black dress shirt. It matched with my blue jeans. I put on my bag and slung my g36C over my right shoulder and next to my bag.

"It's getting cold," I said to everyone. You could see my breath vanish into thin air.

"Indeed," I acknowledged Zhenya's statement and pulled down the ear flaps of my ushanka, "we must be getting closer to a hole in the tunnel. Be careful, everyone. If we wander too far without our gas masks on, we will start to inhale the air of the world above."

As Odessa answered, I looked thoughtfully at the wall, fantasizing about what it would have said, if it could say anything. Then I backed away from it a little, not in fear of bugs or damp, but in the thought of ghosts. I did not particularily believe in ghosts at that time, but I had heard rumors and I meant to have experienced some unexplainable situations myself.

"Good." I said in response to Zhenya, Benji, Odessa, and Volk's responses. That would REALLY be helpful. At Volk's comment on the surface air, I turned to respond, "Don't worry, a bit of good air isn't going to kill us instantly... Then again, surface air sometimes means surface dwellers..." As my voice trailed off slowly, I added firmly, "Best keep our guns ready, then."

With Pyotr's logical warning at hand, I kept my eyes open, but did not take out my rifle. The rifle was heavy and tireing to carry in my arms in long distances. Therefor, I let it hang on the side of my backpack and rather put my trust in the rest of the group. For now.

As we walked through the cold tunnel, my mind wandered off, and the chatter of the group faded away.
Ghosts. The thought of them brought a feeling of melancholia to mind, and I thought about my encounters with them. The last time I encountered one had been right after meeting Pyotr. Vlad had saved me, but I had been weak and an easy target. Some people mastered the language of the dead, while the rest usually joined them. I had a good skillset at my disposal, but being able to communicate with the damned wasn't in it. And I had nearly paid the highest price for it.
i made it to post from my moms iPad today, but i might not do that everyday, especially with this damned autocorrect (it suggested autocamper)

Walking down the tunnels a cold chill could be felt coming from the darkness ahead. It was very faint but getting stronger as we walked on. Soon a dull light could be seen poking threw the ceiling. The cold had appeared to reach it's peak and I tensed as we walked under it.

Eventually, a small hole was shown in the ceiling, allowing a weak light to flow through it. I found it very peculiar, how the light was just shining down into the dark tunnel as if God was shining his holy light on us. But the hole in the ceiling was far from a blessing.

Suddenly, there was a man looking down through it, aiming a rifle at us. "Hold it right there, or we will open fire!", the man yelled with a muffled voice through his gas mask. "We?" I thought to myself. My question was answered as three men came out from a door ahead of us in the tunnel. It must have been the door to the service room that Odessa had been talking about. As there really were nowhere to take cover, I held my ground and looked at the rest of the group.

Great. Another group of hostiles, and we hadn't even got a quarter of the way. I made a hopeless gesture with my arms, then thought on what to do. Shooting would at first thought be a bad idea, considering how most of us had our rifles in our backpacks. The other option would be to see what they wanted before taking action. Then again, if what they wanted was to kill us, we would never get to take action anyway. As my mind kept on racing like a whirlwind, I aimed my rifle at the front guy. "What do you want?!" I yelled to them, as they were still 30 meters away. Then a great thought popped into my mind - Pyotr and some others were still so much in the dark, that they hadn't been seen yet. I just hoped they had realized that, and that they would utilize that knowledge correctly.

I squinted at the people, inspecting their appearances. They did not look like regular bandits, nor nazis, and definitely not communists. They looked more like us, just less armored, less equipped, less armed. "Why are you passing through this tunnel? Nobody goes through here. You running an errand for the Nazis maybe?", one of the three men asked with a rather threatening tone.

"They're Rangers " I slowly said as I approached. "They have an outpost about half a mile from Prospect Mira. They scout the area occasionally. Since noone really travel through the tunnels between Mira and Kitai Gorod they consider it suspicious when someone goes through them." I relaxed a bit and observed the hole. I've never seen I before. It was about 5 feet in diameter and it was about another 27 feet to the surface. Which was covered by a metalic brace. I noticed that the opening had a small area inside it with a pipe going into the wall. Into the direction of the door which lead into a service room. That was probably how they enters and exited it. The hole was a ideal location for ambushed. "And who are you? A Ranger". Said one of the rangers. He had a deep voice and a full grown beard down to his chin. He was wearing a black over coat and carried a VSV. It was equipped with a scope and a laser sight. I thought for a bit then said, "I was involved. " I sat on the rails and waited for something to happen. I looked at Dark, "put you gun down. They won't hurt us. "

Zhenya's relaxing affected me, as I calmed down and were not ready any longer to grab my rifle. "Correction, people do not use the tunnel between Prospekt Mira and Chistye Prudy, which is a station of the Red Line, just South of here", the man with the beard answered. "How come?", I asked. Becoming aware of the possible dangers ahead would be a good idea. "Well, there's rumors of mental hazards in this tunnel. Just gibberish nonsense, I say. There's no mental hazards here. Not this far, at least", he answered.
