The lurkers jumped at me prowling the claws to slice into my skin. Wanting me to bleed out so my flesh would be there's. But our team worl pushed them back. I shot with my driver left and right byrning off all the mutties. "guys im starting to get low on some pellets for my volt" I yelled.
But it was good I fired my last round just as we killed the last one of the infernal beast. I had an odd pleasre in seeing the silking dead bodies of the "varmin"

We fought of the remainder of the mutants and it seemed that everyone but me got injured. Fyodr the boy got his cheek a minor bite. Dark got his throat bitten by one, well a little bit beneath it it. And finally Wojcie got a bite in his lower arm. I didnt get a scratch, which seemed quite odd since i always was the first to get injured whenever i traveled with my group of Rnagers a while back.

As everything settled down everybody stood still and and waited. I looked at Dark and quickly approached him. And crouched down. Throwing my rifle and bag down on the floor.

"SERGEI! go help out Wojcie with his arm, its not that big of a deal just a minor bite wound."

I looked at Dark and he had a big bite mark a few inched below his main throat and esophagus. I rolled up my sleeves and applied pressure to his throat. He was loosing blood. Fast.

His German Shephard looked at me while i held him. Smart dog.

I looked to the closest person to me who was in this case Odessa. "Odessa, can you get out a syringe of morphine, a tight wrap, and a needle out of my bag. Its all in the smaller component. Oh and try to find the cleanser whipe if you can."

"Somebody help me put some pressure on Darks throat!" i sort of commanded. I was good in these situations. Being a former field surgeon and a current doctor and all.

I had clearly under-estimated the bite wounds I suffered from, as Zhenya bowed down over me and applied pressure to it, commandeering Odessa to bring forth the syringes. The adrenaline that had helped me withstand the pain was slowly going away, and I felt an intense pain from a little above my collarbone. Zhenyas face started getting blurry, and soon everything was hazy. I took one las look at Zhenya's bloody hands, then passed out.

    Nope
I lowered my rifle as the last of the lurkers fell to the ground dead, and Odessa chunked a grenade into the alcove. Swapping out magazines, I set the FN FAL down and used my canteen to wash the blood off my arm. I took a bandage out of my backpack, wrapped it around my arm, and gritted my teeth as I tightened it on.
Dark was on the ground, Zhenya bending over him calling for Odessa to bring him medical supplies. I noticed her pull an envelope out of the arms of one of the dead men before hurrying back to help. "Now what could that be?" I asked myself quietly. Shaking my head, I yanked another bandage and a baggie of antibiotics out of my backpack and rushed over to help Zhenya put pressure on Dark's wound. I had found the bag in a hospital up on the surface almost a year before, and I had been saving it for a later date. That date was now, for Dark. He passed out as I moved in beside Zhenya and pressed the bandage over his wound, trying to staunch the flow of blood.

We're two peaceful Hansa stations away from the Nazi outpost.

Smoke clears from the air and I cant feel my hands. They are numb from the rattle of the Kalash rifle. I glance around, a few other people are hurt. It doesn't take long before Yuri and I go back to searching bodies.

"Yuri. Medical supplies. Quickly." I order to the small boy.

We waste no time. I dig through jackets and pockets until I find a large bottle of vodka. The intoxicating liquid only fills half the bottle. I remove the cork and the pad from the side of my head. One by one I pull the maggots out of the wound. They did a fine job of eating the infected flesh and dying meat. I pour some of the vodka inside to finish the job. I tape the pad back down onto my face. I drink the remaining vodka in the bottle. It tastes bitter and burns going down my throat. I toss the bottle off into the dark Metro tunnel. It is followed by the sound of smashing glass. Yuri returns to me with a standard issued medkit, a bottle of bourbon, and a few other pieces of equipment. Not the best loot, but its still something. I slam the last of the Kalash magazines into the rifle and pull back the cold steel bar. I release it and it meets the rest of the rifle with a 'clink'. Yuri, once again, climbs onto my back and we walk to the tunnel enterance. We causiously look back to the rest of the group. Noticing they are all worrying over medical issues. We decide to wait it out. I light up a smoke, Yuri beat my shoulder until I toss the cigarette into the tunnel. I see lights coming down the tracks and hear gears grinding.

"Company." I yell to the rest of the group. Running down into the station and sliding behind a pillar.

Craneum, I'd like you to keep in mind, that if you are joining us, you should make a good introduction that fits with the current mission, and don't just come jumping out of nowhere. Also, I'd like you to know, that you will have to post more often that you did earlier, or your character will eventually be Missed In Action, or in the worst-case scenario, dead.

There's still something you could do to improve, but you are improving rapidly. Very well done, keep up the good improving! ;)

As the last Lurker fell to its death, there was an abscense of sound, except for the echoes of the gunfire still singing through the tunnels, and the squishy sounds of boots stomping around in the blood and gore. Zhenya was quick to order Sergei to treat Wojcie, who was bit in the arm. Zhenya was also quick to put pressure on Darkbringer's vital wounds, and others were soon there to help with whatever they had, while Odessa managed nicely on her own with her artifacts from the Zone.

I was still breathing rapidly and sweat was covering my face. Not only because of the adrenaline, but mostly because of my physical activity during the fight. I had not only been pulling triggers like the others, but using my skills with the sword to fight off every Lurker that had engaged me. Most of us were wounded except Yuri, Sergei, Zhenya, Joe and me. Trained rangers with rifles could hold off Lurkers, but not as good as a ranger trained with a melee weapon. I did not have a single scratch, in fact.

In the corner of my eye, I noticed Odessa kneeling down and picking up something from one of the dead bodies who looked to have been bandits. As I slowly walked closer to Odessa's back, my footsteps were almost muted by the yelling and screaming from the rest of the group. Eventually standing half a meter behind her, I looked down at an envelope in her hands with the same sign that I had seen her carving into the wall back in the service room where we had been earlier. "I know for certain that there is no radioactivity in these areas. Or is there, Odessa?". I said the first sentence with my sudden deep voice from behind and above her, and the next sentence, as a question, with a hint of suspicion in it and crossed my arms, looking down at her.

guys, this is my last post till tuesday/wednesday. can we make whatever it is Fyodor has seen a ghost train, since it is too soon to jump into another firefight. it would mean the anihilation of most of us I think. you can move towards Mendeelvskaya (next Hanza station en route to Tsvetnoi), so I have time to catch up, if that's ok with all of you? thanx guys. see you soon!

*I looked at Benji and was about to answer when I heard Zhenya calling me. quickly I gave him what he needed and help him tend to Dark's wound. at the same time I saw Fyodor go down the tunnel and shortly shout we had some company. I called Sergei to help me*

'Sergei, Joe, Grigori, help Zenhya out, I know you can patch Dark up. Benji, on me if you please. let's see what is it we need to deal with now'

*taking my IL85 and flipping the saffety off I went to where Fyodor and Yuri were. and then I saw it again, more ghost trains. I wasn't expecting to see them so soon, and they made me jump a bit. approaching Fyodor and Yuri calmly I told them not to move*

'Is a long story Benji. I hope you are prepared for this' I said to him and proceeded to tell him my tale on the way to Fyodor with Jet following close behind.

My ears where ringing and little blips of light passed in front of my eyes. as the fighting came to a halt as the last lurker died. I immediately turned around to tend to Fyodor when I to my surprise find him already up and removing what looked white larvae from the cheek wound and then downing a bottle of vodka. I looked with some professional contempt at the sight, while fly larvae was good to too get rid of dead tissue and prevent infection, he could might as well put that vodka bottle to better use as a disinfectant on the wound. And the wound needed stitching I could see that much when he just applied a compressor on it.
I was about to go mention this to him when Zhenya suddenly shouts to deal with the gargantuan ranger's bite wound as he ran to deal with Dark. I ran over to him and checked the wound. I pulled out a clean bit of cloth and poured some alcohol on it and carefully started to clean the wound. The man only grunted a little as the sting of alcohol erased any trace of bacteria in the wound. I stitched it together and applied some bandage.
After that done, I looked if Zhenya needed help with Dark, but Odessa assisted him so I relaxed a bit and took out my water bottle. My throat was felt like sandpaper from all the dust flying around in the gloom of the station. I looked around the station. There was an eerie silence hanging over the place now as the echoes of the fight had died down. Quite unsettling.

Dammit two more people posted as I wrote this:/ gotta change some stuff

The silence was breached by Fyodor shouting that we would have company soon. Odesa called to me to help with Patching up dark and I immidiately ran over to Zenyas side to assist him while Odessa went to towards the kids to check out what was coming.

I cock the safety back quickly and aim down the tunnel. Odessa and Benji approach me quickly. Odessa tells me not to move, I want to reason with her but I know she probably has more experience in the Metro than I. I relax, dropping the Kalash back down onto the hook, until I see it. I become stiff as a plank. Yuri squeezes hard around my neck, afraid of what is coming. I can't believe my eyes. My mouth slowly drops open.

"Bozhe." I whisper to myself. "Tha-- .. that's not possibly."

    In front of us is a blurs of lights. They collect together in to what appears to be a Metro train. Silhouettes sit inside, passengers aboard a memory. Wind pushes up against me as it soars by. I hold my ground, amazed and in awe. My eyes follow the beacon of the old world as it bullets by us and disappears into the tunnel from whence we came. I stand shocked for a few moments before I feel safe to move, I turn towards Odessa. A million questions pop up inside my head. Pathetically, the only one to make it out is;

    "The fuck was that?"

Sorry about that :p I edited it ;)

I followed Odessa to the tunnel to find out that Fyodor had seen the glimpse of another ghost-train. On the way there, Odessa told me the story about the radioactive mark. I was surprised that she had kept this secret the whole while this far. Nevertheless, I trusted her with my life. We hadn't been in this group together for very long, but after what we had been through, it felt like months, and I knew that I could trust her. "Agreed", I finally stated.

Oh, just a little detail, in case you didn't notice: Benjamin used the word 'radioactivity' as a metaphor about treachery in this part of my last post:

Odessa gave me whati needed and as more people came to help i felt that this was quite some group. Atleast they cared for each other.

I got a cloth and whiped the stain with some alcohol and took so tweezers out. I took out some debri from the wound, probably leftover stuff from the creatures mouth. More people helped out around cleaning the wound between gaps as i stitched the smaller cuts back together, and sanitizing the needle with the cleanser whipe. For the time being i patched him up as fast as i could since we didnt have any advance medical equipment. But it seemed all right.

I finished off by covering his neck wound with a bandage wrap and sticking it. It took us about 8 minutes to complete this small operation. It felt nice to be with a team again.

Just before i could finish up completely a 'ghost train' past us for the second time this hour.

I looked down at Dark. And his eyes were shut. I slaped him and felt his pulse. He was alive. But we were losing him.

"Hey guys were losing him. Hell be fine but unconcious for a while."

"What do you guys wanna do? We can stay here and wait for him to revive, or carry him on? Your call fellas." i concluded as i packed my stuff back in the bag and washed my hands with some water i had.

I wait for Odessa to respond and hear Zhenya question our next move. Without any forethough I answer him.

"We should take him." I call back to Zhenya. "We're not far from Mendeleevskaya. We can get better medical attention there if Odessa can get us past the Hansa sentries."

True, but it's nothing to worry about though :)

Actually, this is a great opportunity to do some slow-paced passive roleplay while waiting for Jet Odessa to get back to the roleplay in a few days; Darkbringer is injured and we can't carry on before in a little while. It's not a long time to wait, just a few days IRL. If I'm correct, we spent about a week or more in the service room we were just in, back there in the tunnels.

"Right. I would suggest staying here to wait for Darkbringer to recover, when thinking about the possible encounter of Nazis in Mendeleevskaya, but if we wait here, the Lurkers will eventually get to us. We will also have a more comfortable place for both ourselves, and for Darkbringer who is wounded", I said.
