Do you still have Joe over your shoulder Odessa?
As we filed through the station, and Fyodor went off with Yuri, I stuck the FN FAL into its scabbard and zipped my coveralls up, gripping the strap of the gun bag more tightly. No use showing off how heavily armed we were. I was about to ask Odessa where the hospital was when a man came up and offered his services to us.

"Who the hell is this guy?"I thought. Better leave him to Benjamin and Odessa, they can sort this out. Spotting a sign that read "Hospital" over a doorway further along the platform, I walked that way. I stepped into a room probably 3m by 8m, with a pair of bare electric bulbs hanging from the ceiling. They cast light over the 6 beds, the desk in the corner, and the cabinet of supplies that made up the furniture in the room.

Looking around, I spotted the person who was probably the doctor, a woman in her mid 40s with brown hair. She was wearing a lab coat streaked with grime and a pair glasses. "Comrade doctor. A friend has been injured. He's got a fairly bad bite wound on his neck thats been bleeding off and on for about 2 hours. Are you able to take a look at him?" She nodded her head and started gathering supplies.

"Also, there's another man out here who collapsed in the tunnel. Not sure what is wrong with him." I said over my shoulder as I stepped back onto the platform. Rubbing my hands together for warmth, I heard Dark say "Am I dead?" in soft whisper. "Benjamin, you want to bring him in here? The doctor said she'll take a look at him."

    Edited for clarity

I could suddenly feel a strange aura, as if someone else were present. A couple of seconds after the feeling began, I could suddenly hear a whisper beside my ear, asking "Am I dead?". For a millisecond, I concidered to turn around and look for who it might have been, but I quickly realized that it was Darkbringer. I turned my head slightly towards him, not letting my eyes of the man who had offered his assistance. "Open the gates to the windows of your soul, and see for yourself, Lightsender", I poetically answered him silently.

UltimLux, Darkbringer whispered "Am I dead?" while hanging over Benjamin's shoulders, but we can roleplay that Darkbringer was laid on the bed in the hospital after that ;)

Sorry, I was going off of what Boris said in the last page. Sounded like he had Dark. It could happen either way. And yes Joe, you're injured. You had a fit, passed out, and Benji almost smacked you in the head with a rifle to get you to shut up. That counts as injured physically. Changed my earlier post.

Ehm, if you look closer at that post of mine, you'll see how Benjamin wanted to hit him in the head with his rifle, but never got the chance since he passed out before he could get himself to do it :p

I was knew that and was ignoring that part of it. Even if you didn't hit him, somebody who has dropped to the ground and had a fit before passing out requires medical attention. Lets move on and get Dark/Joe looked at by the doctor.

These events happen during and after the group's visit to the station. It is not completely in sync with the groups time.

The crowd's volume left me a bit disorientated. I am not use to this amount of people. I spend a good eight hours looking through the Market. I sold a lot of the gear we scavenged from the surface, including an old radio, a few somewhat rusty gears, the revolver from the maintenance access tunnel, and a few other pieces of equipment. With the money I gained from the gear I sold, and my generous benefactor Benji, I was able to buy knee pads, a kevlar vest, a worn-out duplet, and a good amount of ammunition; mostly Kalash rounds for myself, although I did buy some G36C magazines once remembering several members of the group carry similar models. We will need them where we're going. I had a smith put a fore grip on the bottom of the AKS-74u, I also bought a suppressor for it. The suppressor wasn't very good, but it would muffle any shot I fired just enough. Pushing my way through the crowd. I see the stand where Odessa told me to go. Approaching the stand, I ask for Yanina. A beautiful young women responses.

"I'm Yanina. How may I help?" She asks, her palms leaning against the counter's edge.

A little befuddled by her beauty, my mind hesitates to respond. Yuri eventually breaks the awkward silence with a slap to my cheek. I quickly snap back into reality and look back to Yuri. His eyes motion to the girl at the counter. I turn back to her.

"Oh. Um .. I'm Fyodor. This is Yuri. W--we .. we're Odessa friends." I stutter.

The girl giggles. "I know. Odessa told me you needed me to take care of Yuri, right?" She questions.

"Yes. Not for very long, though. Just a few days. Uhh --.. He doesn't speak. But he'll do anything you ask of him. Chores, errands, you name it." I answer.

I lay a good handful of military grade rounds on the counter. "Here. This will be enough to feed him for a few days. And to buy yourself something nice." I grin.

Again, the girl giggles. "Okay. I'll watch him. You get going."

    "Thank you." I reply.

Yuri climbs off my back and looks up to me. He frowns. "You can't come on this one, pal." I answer his frowning. "I'm sorry. But be good for Yanina, okay?" I ask.

Yuri just nods and walks behind the counter. He waves to me as I disappear into the crowd, I wave back. I let Yuri go early, I did not want him to see my business. Again, I push my way through the see of people until I reach the bar. When I enter the smokey atmosphere, I spot my contact Vasili. I stop in my tracks and stare at him. Vasili is sitting in a high chair up along a counter spread against the back wall and is talking to a women in very erotic clothing. He looks over his shoulder while speaking to the prostitute and sees me. In a blur, the high chair falls to grimy, alcohol stained floor. In a mad dash Vasili exits the room with me on his tail. We sprint through the station, dodging people, stands, and structural designs. Vasili runs past a fruit stand, slamming his shoulder into a citizen unknowingly blocking his path. The man drops onto his back, just as Vasili disappears into an alley. I grab an orange as I run by the stand and leap over the fallen man. I quickly chase Vasili down the alley and into a long, dark tunnel. An airlock sits at the end of the empty hall. Three figures can be seen protecting the entrance to the surface.

    "Vasili!" I call out.

"Fuck you, Fy!" his voice responses.

Cupping the orange tight in my hand, I cock my arm back. I release the powered arm forwards and the rotten fruit soars through the air. 'Thunk!', the orange splats into pieces upon impacting with the back of Vasili's head. A dazed Vasili crumbles to the concrete. I run over to him before he can get back onto his feet. My fingers wrap around his collar and in a single thrust I toss him farther down the station's walkway. His crippled body collides with the ramped wall of an adjoining access tunnel.

    "Where is it?!" I cry.

"Fuck you, Fy. It's mine now." he replies, again.

"I trusted you with it and you stole it. Where is it, you bastard? Where!" I scream.

With a swift kick to the gut, Vasili groans out in pain. Voices mutter by the airlock. Boots patter against concrete. Cupping my fingers around Vasili's chin, I lift him up against the wall. I remove my hatchet from its holster on my outer thigh and place it against the grim skin of Vasili's neck.

"Where is it!" I whisper, in rage.

Vasili motions his eyes towards a metal door along the ramped wall, his actual destination during the chase. My fingers leave his skin, as well as the blade of the hatchet. A battered Vasili leans against the ramped wall with stolen fruit on his person, just as the three airlock sentries arrival to investigate the noise. They are quickly joined by the hollers of an injured citizen and furious shopkeeper, both crying out for justice. Luckily, I am not among them at the scene. I have made my way into the metal door and have tightly locked it behind me. Upon moving down a staircase, I find it. It sits behind a trap in a boiler room. A single electric light bulb hangs from the ceiling by a wire. The light flickers as I remove the faded cloth from it. I grin at the sight of it. After loading my equipment onto it, I place the trap back over it. Waiting for voices to fade from outside the door, I leave. Walking back in the station, I am just in time to see Vasili being dragged away by the members of the station's security force. 'Serves him right', I think to myself. I can't help but feel a bit guilty, Vasili was once my friend. But he shouldn't have cheated me. Bite and get bit, that's life in the Metro. I quickly find a bed for the night and sleep. I must get up early the next day. Only fifteen hours until I must meet the group at Mayakosvskaya.

I walked with Benjamin and approached the doctor. Benjamin put Dark on the covers.

"Benjamin, thanks for helping out. Ill help out here with Dark. Why dont you go rest?"

I approach the woman, who seems to be in her early - mid 40's. I gently extend my arm to her.

"My names Zhenya, I was a field surgeon with the Rangers back a couple of years ago. Do you need any help?"

She smiled slightly and nods. Shakes my hand, "Im Irina," then replies, with a quiet voice. "Yes please."

I put my bag down near the door. And we shut the door. I take off my jacket and roll up my sleeves. She gives me a dry coat and i put it on. A long with a cap for my hair. The next hour was a minor surgery. We removed the temporary stiches i put on Dark in the tunnels. We took out all the debri from the mutant out of the neck and santized his whole esophagus. We continued to stich all the interior cuts and wounds and finally concluded with stiching up his exterior throat.

Irina left to the ajacent room to get some supplies and i covered all of the other smaller wounds Dark had around hi upper torso. I injected some fluids and gave him a very small dose of morphine so that he could wake up without any pain. I did all this while he was still unconcious.

When i was all finished i took off my coat and cap and put it on the doctors desk. I opened the door to get some fresh air in and sat down on a stool next to dark. And waited.

After what seemed like only a few seconds of darkness I am forced back into the world of the living by a searing pain in my chest. I wake up screaming and flexing every muscle in pain. Before my eyes Lara stands over me thrusting the barrel of her pistol into bullet wound. "Finally, you've been out for almost an hour. Did you sleep well? No matter, you'll have plenty of time for sleep after were through."

I look up to see my hands cuffed to the ceiling. For some reason I am easily able to stand up and ease the intense pain throbbing from my wrists. "You! Your the dumb bitch who shot me. What the fu€k do you want?!" I moan. The woman punches me in the gut and replies "You're talking to a superior officer, Sergeant Spring, you better watch your tone. Oh wait, that's right You aren't Spring are you.. Gena? That's right, I know exactly who you are. In fact I've got an entire file dedicated to you". She walks over to a nearby table and grabs a folder before returning. Taking a seat on a stool she continues "Here we are. 'Corporal Gena Mistovanka'; honorable member of the Soviet's 'Metro GRU task force', currently operating in deep cover throughout the Moscow Metro, Blah Blah Blah...
This is some very revealing information is it not Gena? And since you're not really Spring I'd like to ask where he is exactly, I kinda liked that guy."

I look down at her for a moment before replying.

"1. You punch just like I would expect a woman too
    2. Even with that file, you don't know a god damned thing about me!
    3. If you want to see 'Spring' you can look at my boots heel
    4. If you really want to get laid this bad kidnapping is not the way to do it
And finally, if you think for even one second that I'm going to tell you anything, you've already wasted enough time trying. Any other questions?"

For a moment she just stares at me with an outraged face then walks up to me and whispers in my ear. "You think you're some sort of tough guy don't you? Hiding all those juicy secrets and untold heartbreaks behind that rugged exterior. But sooner or later you'll crack. They always do. And when you do, I won't even have to finish you off. You'll do it for me.. Now don't go running off anywhere. I've got something special planned for you that I think you and your Ranger friends will love".

I nodded to Odessa and let her deal with the man who offered his assistance. "Benjamin, thanks for helping out. Ill help out here with Dark. Why dont you go rest?", Zhenya suggested as I laid Darkbringer down on the hospital's bed. "I cannot relax now, not for a second. My mind is too troubled with what lies ahead, and I need to be here for Darkbringer. Thank you for your concerns though, Zhenya", I reply in an uneasy and worried way. I was stressed and worried indeed. We were closing in on D-6, and Darkbringer was hurt, and I did not want to stay there in Mendeleevskaya for too long. I wanted to get it over with. I kept walking back and forth in the room during the medical treatment before I eventually sat down in a chair behind the door in a corner. And despite my wish to be present, I slowly but surely dozed off and fell asleep.

I heard Benjamin whisper for me to open my eyes, but he called me Lightsender. I did not think much of that, and just opened my eyes. I was in a hospital, and I could see Benjamin half asleep. I quickly examined my wounds. It did not look like the wounds had been infected, but the wounds were deep enough in themselves. I took a large sip of vodka my a bottle in my backpack, and the fluid lingered the pain. I made a grimace of pain as I tried to sit up, but after some struggle, I managed to sit on the side of the bed.
It was a weird feeling. I was sure I had been dead, and I still only felt semi-conscious.
But we had to get moving.
"What's the plan, Ben?" I asked, looking at the half-asleep giant.

*we managed to take Dark and Joe to the hospital. it had been one hour since we got there and I have decided to have a look around the market while waiting for the guys to be ok. I could have stayed at the hospital, but I was to strung up to be of any use there. after explaining Joe's condition to one of the medical orderlies, and making sure Dark was being looked at by Zhenya and the main surgeon I went out to have a word with the newcomer*

'well, for a start, a name would be good, and also why you wanna come with us? I know you told us you just came back from the surface and you want to help, but by now, I think the whole damn Metro must know who we are. what are your intentions?' I asked the stranger

'and by the way, before you say anything, it is not up to me whether you can join us or not, but up to the group. we take decisions together, and we do as the majority says. now, walk with me while you explain yourself, and don't think for a second to do anything silly, unless you would like to get up close and personal with the business end of my handgun' I said looking at the newcomer with a serious expression, waiting for him to move.
