Following the 'escort' out, I made sure the rifle's safety was off. Didn't want any nasty surprises if we got caught. My body walks parallel to Odessa through the station, but my eyes still linger around, taking the awe of pre-holocaust technology. Never have I seen it working before, at least this well. When I snap out of my day dreaming, I turn to look in front of me and notice the Panzer is moving along the tracks. It stops in front of the tunnel we are headed into, forcing us to turn towards the central tunnel. When we approach the entrance of the tunnel, figures slowly creep out from behind sandbags and mount turrets. "A checkpoint, great" I think to myself. The spotlight shines bright in my face, but I do not speak out against it, I do not want to get caught. The light turned off and a voice called us over. We move closer to the checkpoint and a man in a very nice fitted, leather reinforced, fascist officer uniform steps out from behind a sandbag wall. He sees Odessa and quickly approaches the group. I salute when he stops in front of Gena. I thought the officer would engage in conversation with Gena, but instead he turns towards Melnikov and asks a question.

"Was ist denn hier los?" asks the officer.

That is when I realize Melnikov is in a sergeant uniform and that Gena and I are both dressed as privates. "Can't get any better" I think to myself, just as the Panzer's gears can be heard crawling up behind us.

We made our way through the tunnel in formation, Gena in front, Odessa in the middle, and Fyodor beside me. As we reached the end, a blinding spotlight picks out our figures. A checkpoint.

Following the voice's direction, we approach as the light is turned off. I gulp when I see a Nazi officer step out from behind the barricade and approach our little group. Throwing a salute, I am a little surprised when he ignores Gena and turns to me.

"Was ist denn hier los?" asks the officer. I stare at him for a moment, trying to figure out what he just said.

When I did not respond for a moment, his hand fell to the holster at his side and he snapped "Bericht, Unteroffizier." I replied " Ich entschuldige mich, Leutnant. Wir fingen diese Frau in den Tunnel. Ich nehme sie an Glock, ich glaube, sie ist eine jener Rangers, die uns plagen."

I could feel beads of sweat rolling down my face beneath the balaclava, as I waited to see how he would respond.

The officer hardly notices me as he continues on to Melnikov, I just hope he knows enough German to get by.
The officer asks Melnikov about our business in a impatient voice, for a moment Melnikov is silent. It is clear he is having difficulty understanding the officers words. Soon enough the officer moves his hand to his holster with a threatening order. But just as I am about to step in Melnikov finally answers. Now, we can only hope the officer wont see passed our balaclava's to the sweaty and nervous faces we carry. "Gibt es ein Problem Lieutenant" I say quietly in an attempt to take the preside off Melnikov.

Perhaps I will duck out of the roleplay for a while to let new members join in, also just for the sake of taking a break. Not until this mission is done of course.

I might duck out as well after D-6. I've got things in real I have to deal with. Though I'll keep up with the thread and pop in if I'm needed.

*we kept walking until we came to a checkpoint. the officer in charge went straight to Melkov and asked him who we were and where we were headed. Melkov seems to have problems answering, but Gena intervened. I was starting to sweat and had difficulty walking. that kick to the knee had been hard, but it added realism, and I was glad for it. I just hoped we would manage to get to Glock without incident, otherwise we were done for*

Guys, I think having all of the Fourth Reich goons speaking German isn't very realistic. Don't forget that we're in the Russian metro and the vast majority - probably 80% or 90% of this faction - is Russian. Sure, they use some German phrases and Nazi terminology just like the Eastern European & Russian Neo-Nazi gangs of today, but it's all just for show and it's what they classify as "cool".

I highly doubt it that most of those pricks stabbing immigrants in Moscow today would actually be able to formulate a sentence in any other language, and it's unlikely that the Fourth Reich in the Metro universe would manage to collect enough books to teach all of their members to speak fluent German. It's alright if some of the higher ranking officers occasionally use some German phrases to "check" the identity of your characters, but anything more seems a bit too far-fetched to me.

I looked around nervously, noticing that the other group had already moved out. So much was happening around me and I had no idea what to do. I walked closer to the leader of my group, since it seemed like he knew what had to be done. I checked the safety of my weapon again and fastened the regulated straps of the helmet around my chin. Standing next to Benjamin, I waited for him to give us a command - telling us to get moving, or something like that. Standing in this room, without personally doing anything, had made me feel uncomfortable. I was under the impression that something very bad could happen at any minute. We had to move now.

I grab my Ak-47 and put it infront of me just incase anything bad happens. "I think someone should create a distraction. Maybe someone could go and turn the power off create a few explosions then meet up back with the group." I said as looked outside the door. "No one's here thats good." I thought to myself just as a patrol walked past the door. They did not notice the group and kept on walking.

While walking through the station I noticed an American made colt 1911 lying in the middle of the platform. How the pistol somehow managed to get into the country with it's stricked pistol laws, into the metro and into D6 I know not. Why it was just lying there also escapes me, either way I walked over and picked it up unnoticed while the lieutenant and Melnikov had their 20 minute conversation exchanging one sentence.

Steve, please tell me you didn't just so happen to find that pistol so you'd have a more notable ww2 weapon to be 'in the crowd' with the new roleplay characters in the 'Character thread' who are talking about there use of ww2 era weapons. The whole thing just seems a bit obvious to me.

sorry for being away, guys. I've been to Denmark this week visiting family and going to a family funeral with no internet connection at all. I'm currently visiting my girlfriend and writing this witj my phone, so sorry for ant spelling mistakes. and I won't be home until Wednesday.

Odessa, Fyodor, Melkov and Gena eventually left. Now it was up to us, or me, to find out where to go next. Anton auggested to cause some distractions to make our way down. "No", I answered immediately. " Our presence is still unknown to the Reich, and we want to keep it that way. Revealing our presence to the Nazis is only a last resort, so only silenced weapons and throwing knives. The ventilation system sounds like a good idea. Steve, you will be able to crawl through the ventilation system and either drag or push Odessas equippment with you. Joe, Darkbringer, do any of you know where we will end up if we usd the ventilation system?",I asked and looked at the blueprint that Darkbringer held.
