Right time to do an epic catchup, school stuff kept me awfully busy these last day, but no probs now:)

"Er, so N-noone w-wants soup? Uh okey, I'll just P-put it here then", I said, a little disappointed with the fact that such deliciously-smelling food would go to waste, putting the box of soup down on a nearby bench, pouring up a plate of soup and sitting down, eagerly taking in the aroma of the cooked meat and mushrooms. The others were talking to the new people. Seemed like the group would swell yet again.

Just as I am to start to scoff down the soup a sudden thunder explodes in my ear. The sound of gunshot startled me and my body jerked involuntarily, making me throw up the plate in my face, and I let out a little yelp of pain as the hot soup hits my face and clogs my eyes.

As I wipe the soup off my face and eyes, filled with righteous thoughts of vengeance, I notice the whole group is gone. On the floor lies a dead man and the hospital workers and patients are chatting skittishly. I got up on my feet, face still unpleasantly warm and a bit sticky when I hear more shots being fired and angry shouts of people and I run to the door of the hospital, out in the station I see my comrades running towards an exit followed by an angry mob of people. "Er what just happened" I thought, unsure what do do next, I figured I'd had to catch up with the group, though I would need to take a different path out of the station, if I was lucky none would connect me with the group.
I went to the rails to where there was a board with a large map of the metro on it. I studied the map for a few minutes until I saw it.There, an old ventilation shaft going over the tunnel they ran to. I examine the map a bit more and is about to start moving when suddenly someone calls out me.
"Hey you! Yeah, you. Hold it right there." As I turn around I find myself face-to-face with a mountain of muscles of a man. Even as I am a none-too short of a man at 6,33 feet, the man was still a head taller than me and I had crane my neck too look him in the eyes. He had a shaved head and cold, grey eyes and something about him reminded me of a bull. "Um how c-can I be of er..assistance?" I said weakly to the physically intimidating man.
"You look similar to one of the group of criminals that escaped not long ago."
"Er I don't know w-b-what you talking about? what group, I am b-but a simple traveler passing through from tulskaya."
"Is that so? then how come you are alive then?"
    "S-sorry what?"
"You don't know? The station was overrun by either Nazis or muties. That's it, you're lying and I'm taking you into custo...." His eyes widened with shock and he let out a little strangled shout as pain started to surge his body. 'If you can't outsmart them, just hit them and run' my uncle had once said. The bearlike man had not perceived me as a threat, probably because of my gaunt appearance, therefore he had not been ready for a fast knee to his private parts. When he dropped to the floor with his hands clutching his groin I was already halfway across the station floor running towards my exit.

The shaft was located in a small inconspicuous room located nearby the gate we entered, luckily there seemed to be no guard's nearby, so I entered the room and climbed into the ventilation's. The pipe was narrow and I had to push my backpack in front of me to be able to move and after a while the pipe began to ascend and it became harder to crawl since it was hard to find grip on the smooth metal. It kept ascending for a while until it started to level out. When I reached the the point where the pipe flattened the metal started to creak ominously. Terrified I started to crawl fasted and I could see the opening ahead of me that was my way down into the tunnel. It was so close now, the pipe started to rattle and squeak with my every movement. 10 meters left. 7 meters. The attachments started to break lose from the walls and dust fell down from the roof. 4 meters 2 meters. The metal is protesting violently. Nearly there and...I'm weightless? The pipe collapsed with a releasing screech and fell to the ground with me after. The ground viciously knocked the air out of me as I hit it with the debris falling around me, whirling up dust and scaring away rats. For I do not know how long I just lay there until the dist settles and the echoes dies out.
"Ya.. argyle" is all I can get out as trey to collect my panic-struck mind. I get up on my feet, knees shaking, and turn on my headlight and start to wander wobblingly down the dark, murky tunnel. After a while I hear gunfire and the roars of nosalises followed by a big explosion. Then...silence. I pick up the pace and walk faster through the tunnel, my footsteps echoing softly. Now I could hear voices ahead, voices I recognized. I had found the group! I whistled as I could see the silhouettes of them and waving my arm towards them.

The pack of nosalises took us by surprise. No ordinary person would ever be prepared to cope with an onslaught like that, so suddenly... but rangers were always prepared. When the orchestra of gunfire sounded off, the sickness came back. This time I thought I was actually going to throw up instantly, yet somehow I managed to control my trauma better than I did earlier. I had to get used to more shooting since that's what stalkers were best at: shooting. I was about to get my pistol out from my coat's pocket and start hopelessly firing into the distance, but then I realized that my new companions had the situation under control after a minute, so I decided to not waste the ammo with my bad aim.

Once most of the beasts were dead, the rest decided to flee. They just got the hint and realized who they were messing with. Travelling with these men was great - it actually instilled a sense of security within me. I haven't felt this safe and confident about life since... I'm not sure if I ever felt so safe. I finally knew that I had definitely made the right decision by joining this group, but I was still unsure of how much I could trust them individually. All of them were strangers and looked like hardened killers. Some showed a lot of sympathy towards me and a few even seemed to understand my situation. Although I had no idea what these men were like as individuals, I was under the impression that I could rely on them as long as we stayed in a group.

The battle lasted only two or three minutes and it looked like no one had suffered any injuries, except for Steve - who was scratched in his bullet wound. Trying to recall how the doctor bandaged my hand back at the station, I took out the tiny bottle of substance that I stole from the hospital and poured it over Steve's wound to disinfect it. I then put some bandage around it, which I carried in my left pocket (thankfully, there was still some of it left in case I had to change my own bandage). The end result looked better than I thought it was going to. Hopefully, this newly acquired knowledge would make me at least a bit more useful to the group.

A short exchange of words about an unknown figure moving in the shadows followed, after which Steve got up, warned the arrival and aimed his gun at him. I squinted my eyes in order to better analyze the details of the silhouette in the dark and then I realized who it was. "Don't shoot him, he's one of ours!" I exclaimed to the group. I never learned the named of this person, so I awkwardly shouted out to him: "Say something! They will recognize your voice."

After I had alerted the group of the arrival of the nosalises I started firing at the mutants. Picking them off one by one with my Ak-47. I turned around to see Steve throw a grenade at the nosalises before he was attacked by a nosalises. The small group of mutants that were left quickly ran away knowing they were outmatched and outgunned.

I slung my Ak-47 back over my shoulder before sliding against the wall to sit down. "Can I really do this?" I asked myself. "Always living with the constant threat of danger and death." I said to myself. Instantly becoming distracted by the dark that was waving to us I jumped up from the ground. I started to notice that Steve was beginning to lower his gun meaning that the person was friendly so I waved back. "Hello?" I called out.

I've noticed that nearly everybody is writing in past tense so maybe it could be revealed that we are telling our story to Nazis or reds because we have been captured. Maybe not I don't really know.

Hm, it's taking longer than I thought for you to reach D6 and unknowingly aid me in my struggle. Please god let Mayakovskaya be empty and swiftly travelled!

I'll delay my post till tomorrow to make our two 'in character times' match up.

Usually it's the newer Roleplay members who make every step an easily won firefight. I hate it, can't we walk for ten minutes without killing something and create an amazing atmosphere as we exchange great stories of the metro and such... *sigh, never mind.

I also would like people to stop with the "superhero endurance"-thingie, buut that's just me.

As I made my presence aware to the group someone shouted "Come out with your hands in the air and keep you guns in there holsters, you heard me come into the light now" and fired a shot that whistled above my head. I didn't recognize the voice, so I figured it had to be a new guy they picked up. I was about to identify myself when another new voice, female this time , desperatley cried out "Don't shoot him, he's one of ours! Say something!" Realizing she said the last thing to me I responded quickly "D-don't shoot! it's m-me, Sergei!" I stepped into the somewhat blinding light of their flashlights and revealed my dusty, lamppost-like character.

"S-so er, hi guys, W-what happened in t-t-the station?"

"Steve here," I said nodding towards the 75th Reg. guy, "shot a personal enemy in the hospital and we had get out of the station quickly. I think you already know we were being chased, " I said, looking at the bruises Sergei had received. "Anyway guys I think we should move quickly to D6. I can't help the feeling that the Nazis are always one step ahead of us, and they're probably plundering D6 as we speak. We can not let the nukes fall into their hands!" I stated. Maybe I said too much, mentioning the nukes. Maybe the group didn't know of D6's secret? I bit my tongue, then turned around to walk into the tunnel. It was op to the others wether they wanted to follow, but I had to get there. I had to stop them.

I rejoined the RP with this new character not that long ago, but I'm aware that there are two other members with characters in different places - so please, let's not get attacked again. There's no need to test their patience. :p Don't get me wrong though, the attack wasn't unreasonable or anything and all of us described it well I think, but it seems like we have too many action/combat sequences with too few calmer moments in between and we're just taking too long to reach the two other members of the group. ;)

Thankfully, Sergei spoke out in time and the short situation ended peacefully. After a minute of everyone getting together and a head count, Darkbringer quickly explained to Sergei what happened earlier at the station. He then said something about the Nazis having access to nukes... I still didn't know what D6 was, but I had heard of nukes before. Many times. Too many times for my liking. I didn't know how they worked (and perhaps that knowledge was best left sealed away from the remnants of the human race), but I knew that they were the weapons used by various countries around the world to destroy the planet twenty years ago.

If the Fourth Reich really was trying to get to these weapons of mass destruction, then the group's secret mission just got a whole lot more serious to me. I had planned to tell them who I was looking for once we got to our next short stop, but now I realized that maybe this wasn't the right time. I didn't know if I wanted to risk my life in a journey of such grand scale & importance. I'm just a kid. However, they probably wouldn't have let me go at that point anyway. I knew too much. It's not like I planned to tell the metro of the nuclear bombs at that D6 place; I wouldn't ever do that, but if the group was indeed being pursued, then their pursuers would have gotten to me after I left the group sooner or later and probably tortured me to get the info out of me.

No, this wasn't the time to leave. I just became part of something much greater than I thought it to be at first. As I pondered, we entered the tunnel of Mayakovskaya - the platform was to our right... the station was completely empty.

I have similar feelings on the whole superhuman badasses thing, which is why I shut that last one down before it turned into another drawn out combat description. Just as a note, we might want to time our posts so that we get to D6 this weekend or next, so that everybody has an opportunity to be in on the big fight scene/ story arc conclusion.

Lurkers, did you lock the door to the station or the door to metro 2?

Sergei was back, thankfully, though Steve had almost shot him. I made a note to myself to watch out for that guy, he was a bit of a loose cannon. I wondered where Zhenya was as we walked into Mayakovskaya. I had not seen him leave the group. The station was deserted, much like all transit stations when they were not in use.

Looking around as the group stood near the entrance, I noticed a trail of footprints winding through the dust towards the far end of the station. Climbing up onto the platform to the right, I followed them to a blast door against the far wall. There was a little bit of heat that I could feel baking off the door. "Somebody probably has a fire going in there." I said quietly to myself.

Putting the duffel bag to the left of the door, I waved to the group and indicated the door, and then, like the sergeant of the watch had shown me during my time on the Red Line, got next to the door, ready to kick it in. I was not going to do this alone though, so I waited for someone else from the group to walk over.

Note: This next part might make my character appear really dumb that she doesn't know what door breaching is, but remember that Polina was born after the Great War. She never saw a cop movie and never really looked at soldiers in action either. :p

I climbed onto the platform after Grigori and then I saw him awkwardly positioning himself next to a door. "Why isn't he going through?" I thought. When the other rangers took similar positions, as if they were preparing for something big, I took a few steps back. I decided that it would be better if I stayed out of this and observed what was going to happen.

It took them longer than I expected. The fire slowly started to dim it's way into darkness. Shots echoed down the tunnels and the sound waves collided with the blast door, bouncing back and following their same route down the tunnel. It had to have been the group. No one else would be out this far in the tunnels. But if it was the group, who were they firing upon? Or was it more like who was firing upon the group? A part of me was concerned for the group, a part of me knew they'd be fine and that I shouldn't waste the energy. But still, I had to check. I take out the pair of binoculars I had stuffed in my rucksack, and with much force I break them in half. I tape one of the separated telescopes to the top of the ancient rifle, it wouldn't have a cross hair, but it would work fine as a scope, for Metro standards at least. I swing the rucksack over my shoulder and I am ready to leave when I hear sounds outside the blast door I came in, I didn't like it. I walk over to the door, removing my revolver from it's holster. I quickly slide open the blast door, digging the barrel on the sidearm into Melnikov's cheek. When I notice who it is, I lower the weapon and put it back in my holster.

"Jesus. You scared the shit out of me. What took you so long?" I speak to the group. "My grandmother could have made it here faster." I quickly step out of the blast door.

"Mom, Dad." I say, nodding towards Odessa and Benjamin, jokingly pointing out their parental roles within the group, "Where's Zhenya?" I question after I take a long look around and notice he is not among the group.

I did not like the idea of not having a combat medic on a journey to D-6. If he had died or left on his own free will, there was nothing I could do about it. But still, I had a bad feeling about traveling to D-6 without medical support. I snapped out of my inner monologue and looked towards the new faces.

"I see you picked up some help in Mendeleevskaya. Sorry I couldn't stay. By the way Odessa," I say, turning towards her. "--thank you very much for recommendation of Yanina. I have a feeling Yuri is in safe hands." I look back over to the three individuals.

I begin to study them, their features pushing through my brain as if it were a calculator. Numbers popping out the back of my head, the results of whether they would most likely make it or not in our up coming battle. First there was a normal looking ranger, kind of guy I'd like to have around. Nothing special about him though, or is there? Second, and its right this moment that I notice, there is a girl, roughly the same age as me. It takes me back a second, I haven't seen someone my own age in the longest time. My generation is somewhat of a dying breed, kids born in the early years of Metro life didn't make it very far in these tunnels. Stations hadn't been created, warnings hadn't been spread. My generation fell short to mutant advancements and territory wars. I was lucky, I made a life on the surface. It was comforting knowing that at least someone else of my kind could make it into such a skilled group. But maybe I was wrong. She didn't have any armor, and barely any equipment. Not even a rifle, I frown at this. I remove my ballistic vest and hand it over towards her, along the recently scoped Mosin Nagant.

"Ammo is rare so take your shots wisely. You're going to need it more than me." I say, tapping the AKS-74u hanging from a hook on my belt.

In a way, I was trying to protect her. Being a sniper would keep her away from the heat of the battle. The vest, that was my own personal touch. I could live without one, but a petite girl like her taking a round to the chest, I had my doubts. 'Saving the generation' I think to myself. I quickly go back to analyzing. Last, there was the battle hardened old man, in his late forties, early fifties at best. He had a bushing beard and only one eye. He had been through hell in his days. Old enough to remember the world that once lived on the surface, old enough to have had a family, just plain old for Metro standards. His fresh wounds and cuts were dangerous though. They were poorly attended to, he needed Zhenya. But alas, there was no Zhenya. I would take a better look at them once the group had stopped, we needed to get moving soon.

"Right. Well be better get moving. What the plan? .. We have a plan, right?" I question.

Results were in, the numbers weren't in our favor.

Before this strange event had a chance to begin, someone slid open the blast door and pointed a weapon right at Melnikov. The barrel of the gun was literally touching Melnikov's cheek. I sighed in relief when the stranger lowered his weapon. Then I realized something... he was a teenager, just like me. Maybe even of the same age. I didn't see this at first - the combat gear he was wearing barely showed his youth. It made him bulkier and similar in appearance to the rangers, rather than a short & thin gal like me.

He said a few words (a greeting and some questions), then proceeded to analyze me and the other newcomer who joined the group at the hospital with his gaze. We must have looked quite weird; a team of well-equipped rangers and then me. He gave me a bulletproof vest and a huge rifle. "No thanks, I will move faster without it. After all, running is probably what I'm better at." I smiled awkwardly. I took the rifle - it was heavy - and lifted it, aiming it like I would have if I was about to shoot someone. The rifle was way too long and uncomfortable to use. I passed it back to him, "I appreciate it, but I won't be able to put this to good use. I've never used a sniper rifle before anyway... but don't worry, I have this." I added, showing him the Walther PP I kept in my pocket. "It's smaller and less powerful, but it gets the job done at close to medium range and it's easier to use." I repeated what a wise man once told me.

As we kicked in the door, Sako was at first a little frightened by the sudden noise, but after seeing we had just blown the door he became calm.As I looked through the hole where the door had been, I quickly spotted Fyodor with a improvised looking Nagant. I was about to ask him what he was doing with this weird weapon when he handed it to Polina. He probably meant to keep her safe, and this theory was confirmed as he also threw his vest to her. I cornered a smile as I looked at her, with her oversized helmet and ballistic vest, holding that rifle that was not fit for a person of her size. Yet for some reason I thought, maybe she is the more important of us. Who else gives the group a sense of purpose, a sense of innocence. Something that is relatively clean and untouched, who probably hadn't even killed yet. A mascot, you could call her. But she was more than that.
She soon refused the vest and the rifle, and explained it by saying it was too heavy. It made sense to me, since she wouldn't be much use with it anyway.

Dark, there was no kicking in of the door. I opened it before there was a chance to.

The girl hands the vest back to me.

    "Fair enough." I respond.

I strap the ballistic vest onto my body, shuffling my kerchief and shoulder hostler around until everything is back in position. I frown when she hands me the rifle back, but I understand. A small person, a big rifle. Not a good combination. I toss the rifle over my shoulder and let it hand by the leather strap.

"I'm Fy, by the way." Speaking towards the newcomers.

I look back to Benjamin, Odessa, and Dark. Waiting for someone to fill me in on the plan.
