I covered Fyodor's back as he knocked the guards that were walking past. He then dragged the Nazi into the elevator while I checked the door before running into the elevator. I hear Odessa's story and wasn't shocked as everybody because I hardly even knew her and everyone has a reason to do something as suicidal as this.

Eventually we came to a elevator which was guarded by Nazis. Fyodor was quick to dispatch them and throwing them into the elevator. He jammed so that we wouldn't have to deal with them. Odessa then took the nazi's belecliva and Fyodor then took the man's Gas mask off. Steve then started to interrogate the Nazi. The rest of the group were discussing about a toxin and were asking for volunteers I eventually charmed in in the conversation. "I agree with Benjamin, we can't split up until our objective has been completed. I also want to go obtain the toxin with you people if you don't mind." I tell the rest of the group. I sit down on the floor so I can get the energy that I had lost from climbing through the vents.

 

guys, being Xmas and all that, I'll try to post tomorrow, but Wednesday I'm going to be at my in-laws all day, so I won't be able to post 'till night time.

*we piled into the lower control room, and Fyodor took care of the two guards there. it was time, but before I had a chance to say anything about Gena, someone took the nazi's mask of, and, as luck would have it, it was Gena. that made things a hell of a lot easier. I smiled in relief and Jet went to say hello to him. oh boy, wasn't I glad to see him*

'yes, it is true. he's Gena, my partner in the operation. I can vouch for him. now, since we have two experience people here who know what we are looking for, spliting up might be a good idea, however, since Gena has placed the explosives in the lab room, where all the working toxins are being kept, I suggest we find Glock, let him have what's coming to him and get the hell out. I'm not bother about the rest of the detachment, once the Toxin and Glock are gone, they won't be a problem' I said to the group, and, after having a sip of water, kept on talking.

'the toxin itself is a powerful virus, capable of wiping out the metro, a bioweapon, that, as far as we know, there is only one kind of antidote for it, and Glock has it. imagine, if someone outside this place, a whole station, let's say, was infected, wouldn't they be willing to do anything to get their hands on the cure? and if you knew someone wanted you to do something, in exchange for the cure, either for you or your loved ones, wouldn't you do whatever it took? just think about it guys, and why we can't let this get out of here. but I think Gena is more suited to explain this thoroughly. Gena, if you please?' I said to him, indicating with a hand gesture the floor was his.

So, the "guide" was actually another deep cover ranger named Gena. This day was just getting stranger and stranger. I slung the RPD back over my shoulder as he stood up, deliverd his report on the situation, and then began inspecting the group while Odessa laid out a plan.

As he turned and looked at me, something in his face changed, like he recognized me. "What now.." I thought. "You" He pointed directly at me. "You remind me of someone, a woman I've become acquaintance to... Lara" The name hit like a kick in the stomach. I barely heard the rest of his sentence as it echoed in my ears, drowning out the rest of the world. Lara ... if it was the same one...

I did not notice the harsh tone in his voice.

"Wh - whhat? Do I know her? ... Yes .. yes if its the same one, I do. Is she here? In this compound?" I was a little bit in shock, and my words came out slower than normal.

 

Odessa revealed Gena's identity and her plan. I wasn't surprised, stranger things have happen in the Metro. Gena gave us a number of the soldiers in the station. 'Well two down seventy-eight to go.' I thought to myself. The decision of whether or not to split up was on the table. The longer was stood in the room, the move crowded it felt. I found myself with a difficulty breathing, which is strange, as I am usually fine in tight places. It got to the point where I needed some fresh air.

"Right, you guys figure out the plan. I'm going to go scout out ahead. Don't need any unwanted company." I say, stepping out of the office.

I wander down the tunnel and instantly feel much better. My lungs fill with the sweet nectar of rich oxygen that D-6 was lucky to have. Walking farther down the tunnel, I notice it turns to the right. Quietly, I peek around the corner and into a branching tunnel. Several sentries pass by the tunnel's entrance. I lean back around the corner and check my rifle. I crouch down and continue around the corner until I meet the tunnel end. Looking out to the awe that is D-6. Soldiers pack the courtyards, lights fill the air, and a monster of a machine sits on the tracks west of the control room.

"Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy." I mutter to myself. "So this is D-6?"

 

I did not know wether Steve called me a 'dumbass', or if he called the nazi a 'dumbass', but he seemed to need a silenced weapon other than his knives. "I do not possess any other silenced weapon to kill with than this revolver, and I am not letting anyone else touch this revolver", I answered him strictly.

I was surprised when our Nazi guide turned out to not be a Nazi, but rather Gena himself. "We were fired after by the Hanza because of our new aquaintance here", I said and nodded towards Steve. "Never the less, it is a pleasure to finally meet you, Gena", I told him. As he talked, he seemed to know what he was doing. He had already planted explosives at important areas. The fact that he was standing around in a Nazi uniform was enough to know that.

 

"Gena is it?Do happen to know were this places guns are kept?I asked"

 

"Thanks I said with that i climbed into a vent about 20 minutes later i came back a shiny silenced ak-47 in my hands. "

I think he might want some more detail on your part Steve.

He broke a stool over her back? Shock was washing over me as Gena continued briefing us. As he was finishing up, I dropped all of my gear to the floor, a blank look on my face. Walking out into the tunnel, I went back to the elevator and looked over the two unconcious Nazis inside.

That one looks about the right size. I stripped the uniform off his body, and pulled the balaclava off his head. Taking my overalls off, I began to slip into the new clothes. The clothes felt almost poisonous to the touch, but I knew it was something I needed to do. Once I had them on, I put the pre metro military load bearing vest from the other one on and went back into the room.

"Well, do you want some help up top, Gena? I can make a passable Nazi. Plus, I need to talk. To you, more specifically." As I talked, I slipped the balaclava over my head and started transfering magazines from my backpack to the vest. If he could recognize me, other people more familiar with Lara would too.

Another patrol would pass by any minute and I do not want to get caught. I move back around the corner and begin walking down the tunnel, when I notice Melnikov messing with the two unconscious fascists. First idea that runs through my mind is that they have woken up. I quickly run past the office and down to the elevator. By the time I get there, Melnikov is struggling with the clothing of one soldier. I was about to ask him if they were awake. But the words never left my tongue. I noticed he was getting dressed in a Nazi uniform. Looking down to my clothing, I thought about Yuri and our adventures on the surface. I then thought about the Nazis I ran into up there. I've dealt with Reich outposts many a times on the surface. Sadly enough, the fascists weren't as bad as Hansa when it came to outsiders. You just have to worry about them trying to take you for slave labor. Over time, I had picked up some Reich lingo, just enough to pass by. If anyone could pretend to be a Nazi, it would be me. I quickly slide into the other Nazi uniform. Doing so silently, in unison with Grigori. After I slide the balaclava over my face, I strap the helmet to my head and the ballistic vest to my torso. The clothes weren't tight, but they weren't loose either. I walk back into the office and hid my AKS-74u under a nearby desk. Removing the two rifles from the waste bin, I load each with a clip of the thirty Kalash rounds and toss one to Grigori.

"If we were going to look like Nazis, might as well use standard Reich issued firearms, no?" I ask.

I pull the rifle I took from Gena off my rucksack and hand it back to him, nodding. I then toss the rucksack under the same desk as my AKS. Dressed from head to toe like a fascist, I look to Melnikov and Gena, waiting for the next step.

"please take my ak. It is special to me and is my friend"
I loved this gun more than my own life. It was more precious then diamonds to me, more vivd then the sun.

"i hope it will guide you and show you the way"

 

I wave my hand to Joe, declining his offer. It was generous of him to offer his favored gun to a stranger, but I could not take it, at least not in this time.

"Fancy weapons will make it harder to blend with the other fascists. I am sorry, I cannot take your rifle, Joe. But if you can do me a favor, take my rucksack with you. I have some valuable things in there that I'd prefer not get left behind." I say, lighting up a cigarette.

 

Fyodor left the room to scout ahead, followed by Melkov who seemed startled of the information about a woman named Lara. I did not like that they simply walked off like that. They could be discovered and jeopardize the whole mission. I suddenly got the feeling that we were unorganized and that many of us were unsuited for this type of mission, including myself in some occasions. But when they both came back in Nazi outfits, I had an idea.

"If our way to Glock is blocked by way too many Nazis to deal with, what if we have half of the group complete the mission with the toxin, and have the rest pretend to be Nazis that have captured one of us who'll be leaded to Glock's office? We would slip our way straight to him that way, would we not?", I suggested.

I set to work cleaning the AK 47 that Fyodor handed me as he walked back in the room clothed in a similar uniform. The piece of shit Nazi who had owned it previously had not taken very good care of it. Then, Benjamin suggested his plan.

"That could work. I'm assuming he knows at least about you and Odessa, as you two are the leaders of this little group. You could split up, one coming with the 3 of us dressed as Nazis for Glock. The other could lead the rest of the group to get the toxin destroyed." As I suggested it, I continued transfering over magazines and kept my eyes on Gena and Odessa, waiting to see how they wanted to proceed.

tears began to wet my face from the emotions that glowed through my body.
For my family died here and my carrer began here.
"i worked as a weapons scientist for a long time for russia. The public was so poor becyase all the money was going twoards the weapon research."
