Roleplay part 9

I was sitting at the bar when i suddenly heard a group member say about a "Mr. Stalker" and there was a moment of silence in the group. I dared not look to catch any non invited attention and began reading one of my books, that i got out of my bag.

It was an old book, barely holding its covers together. But it was a classic. I already read it only about a million times, but i took it out to seem busy and not suspicious. A waiter came up to me from across the counter and asked with a deep yet gently voice.

"Would you like anything else sir?"

"No, thank you. Im good", i concluded as he turned around and began to service the other customer sitting two seats away from me.

I looked at the book. But listened closely to the group. Behind me.

Well, first make sure to read the roleplay rules and make sure that you can ag*ree to them, and most importantly be certain with yourself that you will be able to devote enough time to the roleplay, preferrably one post a day, at the least, then create a character and post it in the character thread, then follow up on the roleplay for a little while to find out where we are and why we are there, and make sure it's a good opportunity to have your character jump in, then we're talking

The man that Joe had referred to as 'Mr Stalker' eventually took out a book and began reading, looking like an everyday civilian. I looked back at Joe while I slightly shook my head and made a discreet gesture towards the 'stalker' with my hand. "He does not look much like a 'Mister Stalker' to me", I said to Joe. I felt that I would have sensed it if there was something spooky going on, so I grew a minor belief that Joe was being paranoid. I found it illogical that we would be shadowed already, this early.

 

I still didn't get involved in the conversation about changing locations.
Instead I pulled my left leg upon my right knee, and did the basics; tightened some bolts, oiled it a little.
When I started paying atention again the conversation had branched of to include stalkers and the likes, as far as I could hear.
I looked up and around, looking for someone suspcious, but whoever this Joe-fellow was talking about, I failed to notice him.
I looked down again, and continued what I a\was doing, only looking up once in a while, both to not seem rude, and to know if anybody else were going to introduce themselves.

Is this okay for a daily post, or will posts like this be irrelevant?
I'm still getting into this "Roleplaying-Routine".

"Of course I do. Now, begin talking. We cannot sit here all day and also need to find out what to do next", I told him impatiently.

Finally fixed my PC today. I might be popping back into the RP pretty soon, but I'm not sure yet. We'll see.

 

Well, it's been nearly six hours now...

 

*I listened to Joe's story, and must say it did not surprise me as much as I thought. knowing what the Soviets had been up to in the Zone made it quite plaussible and all the more real to me. if what he was saying wass the truth, we had to stop it somehow. I had seen the results of failed experiments back in Chernobyl, and the chaos they had caused, and that was in the open air. here, in the metro, would be a lot more devastating than out there*

'well, it seems to me we got a new 'adventure' in front of us. count me in' I said with a sip of my coffee.

 

"I'm with you" I said, stating what was already quite obvious before sipping some more Vodka. I started counting my ammo and cleaning my piece. 8 AS Val mags, 5 in the vest and 3 in the backpack, 4 P99 mags, 2 in the vest and 2 in the backpack, 3 fuse-lit grenades and a single pre-war RGO grenade. I had 4 filters for my gas mask and 2 reserve batteries for the NVG. Yes, I was all set.

 

I stared hard at Joe for a few seconds after he finished his story, and then turned away after Odessa announced that she was in. I put my rag and cleaning supplies back in my bag, and started reassembling the pistol. "That's certainly a lot to take in." I muttered to myself, my eyes bugged out a little bit. If it was true, then there were pieces of a weapon out there that could wipe us all off the map, just sitting around the metro. "Do you mind telling us where the pieces of it are? As in, which stations they are in?" I asked Joe after a few moments.

 

It took me some moments to digest what Joe had told us while Odessa and Nikolai stated their will to part-take in the mission, and Melkov asked where the parts were. Before Joe could answer, I also asked "What is this Anti-matter cannon that you are speaking of? How devastating can it be? And what about these failed super-soldiers, the mutants? Do you have any specifics on them? Also, if the cannon was made in University garden, one of the pieces will most probably be there, I assume?".
