Roleplay part 9

bar has already been paid by Odessa's friends in the military. she might be a free agent, but still kind of works for them when needed. picking up the bar tab is their way of thanking the group for D6.

*approaching Benji I gave him a bottle of the 'cough syrup' I had from the zone. I had picked up some more when I got home, apart from other essentials*

'there you go Benji. hope you don't need it again, but just in case' I said with a smile before following him out.

 

It seemed that while I was pondering my thoughts from across the bar the Rangers had begun to move out. This ruined the possibility of advancing into the tunnel ahead of them and waiting. Now I would have to think up something quick or risk losing them, or being caught by Polis...

 

i nodded to benji then followed him out smiling under my helmet this was my second time out of polis after steve found me when i was 5 i rather liked seeing the tunnels

 

I got up to follow Benjamin on his way out of the bar. A tall american dude from a Japanese sanctuary who now makes his living as vigilante in an apocalyptic, Russian metro. The old women underneath Yggdrasil must've been drunk when they spun this guy's destiny, I thought to myself.

The group was following, great. Odessa handed me another bottle of her famous cough medicine "just in case". I thanked her and nodded as I recieved the bottle and stuffed it into the backpack on my back. We walked for a few minutes to a minor tunnel exit from Polis, and yet again, I could feel the cold breeze as if the tunnels were alive and breathing, waiting for us to enter its wide open mouth. It was a little more chilly with the black hooded sweater and brown cargo pants instead of the brown leather-coat with the uniform which now was lying in my backpack. Not wearing the coat also meant that I currently had no bodyarmor, but I would surely put the coat on if we ever seemed to approach any threat. "Is everybody ready and set?", I asked them all, turning towards them with my back against the tunnel.

 

Joe's answer seemed good enough to me, as Odessa's face lit up with recognition upon hearing it. Standing up, I opened my duffel bag and shoved the envelope of MGRs deep inside. As I walked out of the bar after Benjamin, I slung the bag over my shoulder. I spotted the restrooms that Vika had told me about, and motioned to Benjamin that I was going to make use of them and would catch up with the group.

When I got inside a stall, I dug the tape recorder out of my pocket. Whispering so my voice would not reach outside, I said "Alright Vika, sounds like we are headed to the mythic University stations. Or at least, underneath them. See what information you can get on them." After giving a few more instructions, I popped out the tape and stuck it into a ancolve in the back that would not be readily seen.

Stepping back out of the restroom, I jogged to catch up with the group. "Is everybody ready and set?" I nodded to Benjamin, checking over all of my equipment one last time. There was a seemingly handy chair nearby, and I sat down in it while I waited for us to set off.

 

The group was leaving, after about have an hour at the bar. I waited a few minutes to guarantee that I was safe and under cover. I got up and put my coat on, and slung my bag over my back. And slowly and steadily began walking out of the bar.

The group was seen heading over to a small tunnel not too far from the bar itself. And they were grouping up on the entrance of it. Some people began to join up and others slowly approached.

As I waited for the group to proceed I put my leg onto a stool and began "tying" my boot as I kept an eye on the members.

 

i decided to ask as i removed my helmet"what happened to steve heartless asshole or not he did save my life how did he die do you have any of his stuff?"i stood there holding my helmet waiting for a answer

 

Dimty first now asked what had happened to his stepfather. I looked at Melkov before I answered him shortly but respectfully "We don't know, we just lost him along with three other members of the group in there. We have no objects from the ones we lost at all", as I thought of Darkbringer's dogtags hanging around my neck.

 

i nodded put my helmet on and moved up to were the guy i thought was crazy was then nodded to him as i put my visor up

 

As I got up out of my seat I noticed I was one of the last ones at the table. I hurriedly placed two MGRs on the counter of the bar and quickly hurried after Joe and the group. As I exited bar I looked left and right until I found the group heading towards an exit, I then began to run after them. Once I finally caught up to the group, I began to slow down.

 

aburtly? Also, did the group just get moved to the secret tunnel without much description of the journey or letting others (ie our observers) do anything? If "they" is the rest of us in the group, then you are roleplaying reactions for our characters to seeing an elevator.

A little more description/clarification would be nice.

As Dmitri turned and walked over to stand next to Joe, I gave Benjamin a thankful smile. I really needed to come clean, at least to him. Hopefully there would be a chance to do that on our journey to the University.

 

I put my leg down again, and limped along with the group towards this special tunnel, I'd have to get the names of the rest of the group along the way
I'll be gone for about a week from the time of writing this. I'm in a hurry getting packed already, so that's why this post isn't as long as it should.

 

Same here guys. Ill be leaving tomorrow for a camping trip for the next week. Ill return back home on Sunday. In exactly 7 - 8 days. Continue as you would. And remember that im just an observer.

etc. If I get the chance to post any time during my trip, ill sure do.

*and so we went along, following Joe through the hassle and buzzle of Polis. we were headed to the place I knew of. that tunnel had been used by rangers for quite some time, and I had been there a few times, but it was not something we liked to shout about, so its exsitance had been kept secret to all but those who really needed to know. even the politicians, except a selected few, had no knowledge of the place. Jet had jumped on my shoulder once again and had settled herself. only a low purr could be heard coming from her*

'here we go again' I said to no-one in particular and kept following the group.

 

I will also be gone for a while at the cabin with my girlfriend from Wednesday or Thursday till Monday, just to let you know. I might be able to post now and then, but it won't be often.

 

It was now definitely impossible to head off the group as they entered a secret tunnel. It had never occurred to me that such a tunnel could be used. I had heard brief words about it's existince here in Polis many years ago, but forgot about it long ago.

Then again this could work to my advantage. If not a trace of protection could be seen around the tunnel entrance than that must mean the stations hardly knows (if at all) about it's whereabouts. This means I should be able to slip into it without getting caught in Polis' identity tracking. If the Rangers had gone through any of the regular tunnels each of them would unknowingly be run through their systems records, keeping an eye out for criminals or wanted men.

But here!, in this secret tunnel, all of that could be avoided. Yeah... Maybe this was for the better. I could avoid the Polis guard and connect with the group.
I smiled with a look of sudden satisfaction and kissed my watch, whispering a few quiet words to it before trailing the group into the tunnel. Soon I would have to contact them, and finish the mission I had given up so much for.

I slapped the old Soviet Helmet on my head and locked a round in my rifle, putting it to full-auto. Just to be safe...
