    My first play through was Hardcore ranger mode but without killing I could never get past some areas of the game since you die in 1-2 shots . So now just playing it on easy to mess with it and pick up some unlocks I missed .

    Nope. You can knock out enemies regardless of the fact that they're aware of you.

    okay so I am having problems at that damn train again on easy mode . Seems like I am getting insta-killed 5 seconds after the rail car flips above us . Spamming med kits not working so how did you guys get on the train without dying ?

    Spamming medkits and crouching. It seems to kind of be a bit luck based. You also don't want to wait too long to use one or you'll die during the heal animation. On the other hand, you don't want to use one right after taking damage either. You just have to get a feel for the right time to heal.

    Use all Musical Instruments in the game. did not unlock :( I did not miss one seems like a glitch in the system . Next time 4A games needs to show what you missed in levels books and unlock progression . Also save system not checkpoint saves , since that will cause me to play a new game , just to complete one achievement . Wanted to 100% this game but probably going to give up on that goal , for all I know it will glitch out again .

    Well, KomodoNameless is doing a Ranger Hardcore Pacifist walkthrough on youtube, and he's one of the most talented players I've seen at Metro in general, so we'll have to wait and see.

    Gave up on trying a no-kill attempt on the train, decided I'm being forced to kill on this level so screw it. Will just wait and see what happens once I beat this playthrough attempting no kills everywhere else.

    well, its still a bit too early I think to trust walkthroughs. I checked with one and turns out the guy had missed like a ton of shit that I found by exploring.

    Get as many moral points as you can. Explore everywhere, listen to ambient conversations until they're complete, spare people when given the choice, give MGRs to the needy, etc.

    So no killing give to the poor and listen to all conversations ?I blew up D6 last time would that be the good ending or bad ending ?

    That's the 'bad' ending. Avoiding killing definitely helps, sneak FTW!

    I played it without killing but still blew up D6 ? Hell I know I did not kill anyone because I got the achievement confirming 'Beat the game without killing'

    Avoiding killing the regular grunts (not the dudes who surrender, they're counted separately) only gets you one moral point per level. You can basically kill everyone, and still get the good ending. You gotta explore more and listen to more conversations, help the helpless, etc. Use the Metro wiki for a list of points.
