    I would like a Metro 2033 movie I just hope they dont mess it up with monster trucks and the worst cliche of all time: a love interest.


    And I just hope they dont overdo on the weapons 1-2 MG42's are okay but adding a minifgun salvaged from a chopper wouldnt be too good or a AA-12.

    I totally agree. A movie would only be good if it is done right. Who do you think would be good actors for the movie?

    Well, I don't know any Russian actors, but I'm sure there are some really good ones out there! :)

    I think there's a good chance the movie will be really bad, but hey, you never know. If they have the right director/producers on it, it may be really good. Just so long as it's based solely on the book and not the game. Like someone said in the thread earlier, movies based on games are almost always bad.

    Please leave it in Russian hands ! (director, actors and so on). Metro 2033 is a Russian story, Russians should tell it.

    Absolutely. 2033 showed that atmosphere was its strongest point; a cinema could capture that perfectly provided it had a good team and budget.

    I actually started learning russian just to read the STALKER books and this book in the original language. But it's a damn hard language to learn :)

    They would have to severely cut down the content of it to fit into movie parameters. I'm actually a writing and film major at the university I attend, and while Metro 2033 could be converted into a bomb-ass screenplay, I don't see it capturing all of the characters and content without being rushed or cutting things out. This is not to say I wouldn't mind seeing someone attempt it though! The more Metro I see, the merrier!

    I know German and I want to read the German versions, but the books are expensive to import. I checked on amazon and some of the books would cost 50 dollars to import. Please tell me if anyone else knows a better place to buy these books.

    I wouldn't want a series, but maybe a film trilogy (or just two films). They could just copy the game, maybe add a little dialogue, but all the action and areas and stuff is already there.

    Metro film?

    Any one like the idea of a film based on Metro: 2033?

    Of course it would have to be quite a long film and it'd certainly have to have a good director etc. but I think that if it's made properly and grabs the image of the book then it'd be amazing.

    It'd be a very tricky film to get right though and I bet that if it ever does get made into a film it'd be shit.

    When Metro 2033 came out, Dmitri Glukhovsky was talking about the movie rights, so it could be possible. Never heard anything about it after that, regretfully.
