+1 to Bamul. It's naive (and in this case, dangerous) to assume that all people follow the example of others with the same heritage.

 

Obviously it doesn't seem like all of us are entirely convinced. Did you go out of your way to present your point to multiple other people to prove your own ideology to yourself?

I didn't mean for this to get heated, I just simply don't see where you're coming from. And as you said, we can't understand your viewpoint when we haven't seen things as you have, but you also apparently haven't done that great of a job of explaining things if that's how you really see it.

It feels like you're having trouble explaining things. "Majority of the minority" is a pretty redundant and confusing way to explain things. Please don't take this in the wrong way, since I have plenty of respect for people who learn multiple languages (I spent five years learning Spanish and am still pretty awful at it), but sentence structure makes a pretty big difference in how your point comes across, and it seems like you've still got a bit more room for improvement.

Did that sound condescending or asshole-ish? I hope it didn't. I'm just saying that there are multiple factors contributing to us simply not getting you, there's no need to get mad or offended at a discussion.

You have made some other mistakes, would you like me to point them out? (once again, trying not to be a dick, just curious if you'd like some help)

I also hate to keep hanging on this one issue, but in your last post you said that you didn't want to generalize Romani, but in this one you're saying that you are talking about Romani people in general. Which is it?

 

Okay Yakov, let me get this straight: you initially mistake state capitalism for socialism, you refuse to tell us where you got the numbers from and you link us to a video that shows us the Romani are living in extreme poverty in Slovakia and the state doesn't seem to be that bothered about it - which is not the point you were making. If that somehow makes you "right in every case", then I don't think it's possible to win an argument with you. This is getting really tedious, so lets just drop it, ok?

 

But we've already discussed in-depth our views on what you're presented to us, and it appears as though we're not going to get anywhere (we'd also like to get along here to at least some degree, and if we keep arguing then that's only going to get harder from the looks of things).

We focused on the Romani thing because we didn't really agree or understand your point of view, and now that it's become an argument over communicative technicalities and we obviously can't sympathize, it's just become tedious to argue when neither of us are getting through to the other.
