    I put this on another post somewhere around here but I would like to think that they are the same character and that there was some kind of cryosleep deal going on. It adds more depth to the character if they are the same person from way back in the flashback. If they are completely different people then the flashback scene becomes significantly more boring.

    The other people in vault was let out ,but his chamber didn't release him till 200 years later so his family are out there,but really his consciousness was put in a android he only thinks he is human,so his family are also androids and he knows they won't of aged to

    I believe they might have had him in cryostasis. Possibly to have him wake up and explore the world with the hopes that after that many years it'll be more hospitable.

    I'm gonna go on a limb here and say your character is actually a clone or otherwise genetic copy of the one that showed 200 years before.

    It would be a nice twist to this foregone conclusion of "oh, it's the same guy, he was probably frozen or something". We already have too much of these kind of stories.

    The cool thing about the Fallout universe is that it's so far into the future that literally anything can be the right answer because technology is far beyond our actual knowledge.
    I hope they have a good explanation though. I hope it's not something like "It's all a simulation" or a dream or stuff like that.

    Yeah, this particular explanation would pretty cheap, specially since we already got a virtual reality theme on fallout 3's tranquility lane quest. I want clones!
