First, Punch a tree and when you have enough wood blocks make a Crafting bench and make axe and pick. Second, find a mountain or stone, mine a stone and make a better tools and find some animal and get their meat and wool and cook it. Third, if you don't have enough time and it will become dark, mine a hole in the mountain or ground and craft a bed and sleep. And continue the journey you left yesterday and build a house for your safety.

Get a shelter to hide from the spooky skelentons. Get some coal asap and get torches.

That sounds like a terribly frightening experience, but very similar to mine, I remember getting freaked out and pausing the game with the biggest eyes you can possibly imagine, thinking "What in the world is that?"

But I guess just try to get some food if you can, that's the most important. If you don't have enough time to collect wood, just dig a hole until sunrise and you should be basically okay.

First thing's first. Hide! If night time falls it's best to hide somewhere that's got no entrance or exit. Did a cave or block your house with cobblestones or something.

What I did was immediately dug down into the earth and build my house underground. I also made a hole with grate so that light can shine. I made a door at the entrance and waited it out.

Every time I start a new game, the first thing I do is punch trees for some wood, then create a workbench. Next, I craft up sticks to make a wooden pick axe, find some stone and mine it, then make a stone axe, stone shovel, stone pick axe and stone sword. From where I mined the stone, I would normally build up a basic box as my first shelter, while I continue to gather resources from the area.

Of course, do not forget food. Scour the area and break up grass for seeds while you look for something better like meat. Don't go too far out, since it's your first day. Find some meat and seeds and head back home. If you happen on some sheep, kill them for 3 blocks of wool and then craft a bed.

The second day onward should be about planning and preparing your home base. This is where you will headquarter your adventure on the map. From there on out, you can use that as a refuge and relocate a bigger house somewhere else.

Just go with the tried and true method of standing in a tree where nothing can get you and then go back to mining during the day. It's funnier that way.

I just dig into a mountain wall and make a little base inside there until I have more resources. Works most of the time for me!

Get wood. Lots and lots of wood. Barricade yourself with the wood. Break a piece of wood to see if it's day. If it's day break all of the wood and take it. Keep the wood and carry on exploring.

I always make a house out of dirt first. After that I try to gather as much supplies I can.

    Step 1: Get some wood
Step 2: Get some tools then upgrade to stone tools
Step 3: Find some coal and sticks
    Step 4: dig a 5x5 hole
    Step 5: Wait till morning

That was what i did for my first few nights.

What I normally do is gather trees the entire day and just dig a whole in the ground for the first night. After that I usually have enough wood to build a pretty sweet house and also have some apples to last me on food for a bit.

The first thing you should always do is find a nice home. Whether it is in the side of a cliff, or in the ground you need to escape the wrath of creeper and friends. Once you do that, just sit in there until the night is over. If you killed sheep and cut wood during the afternoon, build a bed.
