Sounds about right, a Proper Sniper Rifle only came into service last year in Russian Forces, else it was just Privately brought weapons would be in use along with SVD Marksman Rifles. Hell, you even saw Scoped Mosin's during Afghanistan! xD

Nope, he wasn't discussing the Javelin. He was talking about this thing:

Which is basically built around this thing:

And Wolve... the Javelin uses a top attack where the armor is the weakest.

I think that with the small newborn-errors of the F-35 fixed it'll outdo whatever the russians come up with (Probably the Sukhoi PAK FA). It did cost 331 billion USD to invent (Might be a trillion before it's completely ready), but it's awesome never the less :D
EDIT: Just found out I dramatically underestimated the cost of the Joint Strike Fighter-project but I have fixed it now.

F-35's are Horrid, this year its estimated it will cost 1 Trillion Dollars to get the current planes flight worthy (This is nearly 3 times the whole of Russia's Defense budget as well)

The Scariest part is that the pilots black out from lack of Oxegyn, and the Plane manufacturer blames it on the pilots, Let alone to think about the problems with the Helmets Display being blurry, the Fleet is grounded due to Engine issues, They cant fly though clouds... I mean, wtf? they cant fly thought clouds!
Their worse than the F22 Project!

I know that mate, same with the Russian systems but they just dont go as high up un-neededly, only up far enough to engage the top armour (Not that they need to, No Tank has anywhere near 1.2meters of Armour, and thats after reactive armour as well)

the GAU-8 isnt all its cracked upto be, sure it can take out Export, Monkey Model tanks, but it dosnt have the power to Penertrate most Soviet Made tanks apart from the rare. Let alone will it be able to pass thought Russian Anti-Air craft systems.

But ill write this for you
Rocket Pods (Hydra Complex) : Soft skinned vehicles
    - Includes flechett
    ATGM (Hellfire Complex) : Tanks

Of course the ATGM can take out tanks, pretty much any ATGM missile can take out any tank (as you cant put 2 meters of armour on every thing can you)
Noting why we have countermeasures, Anti-Aircraft systems etc... You get a Bunch of tanks and put a decent AAA system with them, something like the A-10 wont be able to do much on its own (Noting the Ratio of 6:1 SU-24's to F-16's in Germany)

But see it as the Last Light pre-pre-alpha stage shown at E3 2011 - don't you expect the final game to be way more polished than that? I mean, even after being taken into service (there's still 4 years left before this happens to the F-35) the F-16 was upgraded, polished and fixed for decades before it became what it is now. Please, give the F-35 some time, let it see some use, let the issues be fixed and let's see if it isn't the baseline for the next generation.

Im hoping they do, the problem rest in how slack the Pentagon is, letting these projects spiral into over spending, Its just stupid how much each unit costs, let alone how much its costing to upgrade them to flight worthy standards...

Also, a Trillion dollars is ALLOT of money
    http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Thats like ~1/17th of the whole US Dept

Yeah I know, they are one of the options for the Royal Danish Air Force' next fighters, but they are priced at 100 million USD per unit, which is quite an extravagant number for the Danish military. Maybe the Sukhoi T-50s will be bought, that would basically be the first Russian invention in our arsenal. Quite exotic, if you ask me :p

Then it's good we'll be getting new LMG's too :p
And of course APC's, where I am in fact in favour of the swedish CV90 ;)
But you know us, we don't spend as much money on the military as you swedes since we're in NATO, so we will most likely stick with whatever purchase we make for a long time (20+ years) and thus I don't think that an already age-old (just sayin') system is desireable. I don't doubt the Grip's capabilities at all, it's just not as upgradable in the long term since it's already pretty much fully upgraded.

Like I said, samurai has better equipment, etc.
All Viking men were expected to bear arms and they used to go raiding regularly so they would soon have the battle experience even if being a warrior wasn't their profession.

But I honestly dont get the comparason, why did they compare the Vikings to a Class of Warrior? Its apples and Trees.

Allot of the Viking Population were just traders, never once saw combat, never trained for combat.

But ill tell you one thing, if some guy swings an Ax at me, No matter what armour im wearing, im probs gonna be hurting when it hits!

I don't have a clue, it's just a TV show. I've never understood some of the comparisons either. Some of the trash talk on the show is just terrible, I swear America can't make any TV show without some shitty trash talk and lots of shouting for no reason... The testing is really biased too.

For those of you that think the russian army is superior to other armies in general, this might show a more true-to-life version on the Russian army life than the extreme drills on youtube.

    It seems unorganized to me.

Well, I never thought of the Russian army as organized or very efficient. I didn't really have an opinion on them, other than the fact that I knew they used a lot of old (but reliable) equipment and weaponry from the times of the Soviet Union, just like former Eastern Bloc countries in Europe. The stuff you see on most vids that present Russian army as superior is footage from SPECNAZ training facilities and the like, which really is almost frighteningly organized and efficient. But normal army... nah, it's about the same as in most Eastern European countries, I'd guess. :p

Looks just as basic, dull and tiring as any other military life other than the fact that they're working with extremely old equipment, noting that the pictures would be taken during their R&R time.
Even modern equipment soon fucks up, my college tutor was telling me how his convoy came under attack and the radiator on one of the vehicles decided to fuck up as they tried pulling out and he had to get out there and seal it up with solder.
