Now Norway are buying 52 F-35 JSFs AND a lot of new rescue helis :p
Anyway to touch a trending subject, how do you think a war between South Korea/US and North Korea would turn out?
Personally I believe that the superior firepower, technology and better soldiers will result in a swift victory for the Combined Forces Command.
Aftermath is a whole other story which I will not delve deeper into right now, but it will be costly in many ways, and way more difficult than the West/East Germany reunification.

Well, if I had to put it in a short manner I'd like to think that north Korea would strike first launching what missiles they have on Seoul and storming it. Fighting would continue with the north slowly pushing the south further south. Somewhere at this point the US would have sent substantial troops to help SK and an even bigger blood bath would ensue. North Korea would begin executing prisoners and publicly fighting dirty. SK and the US would too begin to fight dirty but in a more quiet fashion.

Eventually the NK's would run out of professional soldiers to deploy and have to resort to militia. Millions of these I'll trained troops would be killed or captured. America will devise a clever plan and push the North out of south Korea. By now North Korea would be desperate for resources like food and be forced into submission. Kim Jong un will either be thrown out or assassinated.

Well that's my brief opinion on the subject but id like to hear what you guys think about it.

I think you overestimate the North Korean army. This time, compared to the Korean War, they don't seem to be getting China's blessing. And four million soldiers are easy targets when their pilots get only around 20 hours of flight time - a year. If you look here

You can see, in adittion to the general unprofessionality, at 1:48 the machine gun closest to the camera isnt even firing, and the others conserve the ammo dearly. Their tanks are from before 1980 but they do have quite a few of them, as goes for their ancient warplanes.
Their soldiers are disciplined, yes, but only their standing army of 1.1 millions are comparable to the South Korean forces in terms of training and physicality.
Uhm, yeah, not sure if the is politcally incorrect to post right underneath a serious post, but anyway:

discipline goes along way, but I'm guessing North korea will use guerilla tactics if invaded, adn turn into a new afghanistan.

Come to think of it, a war on the Korean Peninsula would be extremely bloody if DPRK doesn't surrender (and they don't seem like they will) quickly. Way too many innocents will die. Before realizing this I was like "Meh, let's get this shit done and rebuild the country" but now I'm more like "soo much useless death". I mean really. Maybe 5-7 million dead. :(

Well, i'm sure the american bankers would be glad to prosper on Korea's reconstruction - just like they are prospering on Iraq's reconstruction.

I heard they have something like 200 tanks.
Their soldiers are also equipped with AKs and are all willing to die for their leaders, i'm guessing if we got into a war with them, it'd be a repeat of the Pacific theatre in WW2 where the only option would be turning to nukes. That's if no one decides to nuke each other right away. UK is pretty safe though.

Edit: and why the hell are some of them wearing green leaves when everything around them is BROWN, good camouflage...

The amount of jokes I've been hearing about what happened in Boston... damn. It's not even shocking any more. Actually, it wasn't shocking to begin with because I expected to start hearing jokes as soon as I heard about it. That doesn't bode well for the people at my school.

The bombings in Boston weren't even worth mentioning in the news, only a dozen people died. We only hear about it because they're American, I guarantee that if it was a country like china nobody would give a shit. In places like Africa children die everyday from landmines left behind from wars they're not even old enough to remember.

In North Korea whole families are arrested and sent to concentration camps if anyone from the family escapes from the country.

37% of Civilian deaths from 2003-2005 were caused by the US and it's allies during the Iraq war, only 9% were caused by insurgents.

Earthquake in china - over 100 dead, pretty sure I haven't seen it in the news yet.

I'd only be bothered by the Boston Bombings if it was Chechens, (The MI5 suspect they could have been Chechen rebels according to the papers.) after all the trouble they have caused Russia.

If you can't make light of such a minor incident when compared to the goings on in the rest of the world then how will you cope with the hardships of life? The ability to see humor in the darkest of times is a gift. I like how you didn't have a problem with Cerberus' joke about Ed Gain for example but you have a problem with people joking about this. Please don't say because it was "too soon" because apparently joking about death is wrong full stop and the amount of time that has passed shouldn't make a difference.

Just saying.
Edit: Be it in a rather messy way

The actual kill count was quite small, but it affected a lot of Bostonians never the less. Their city was subsequently locked down, traffic closed while an armed and dangerous terrorist was free.
Of course it has been covered a lot in the media, in comparison the Iraqi bomb accident that happened the same day (41 dead, IIRC) and the earthquake in China. However I don't know what news you watch/see but I heard a lot about the earthquake in the media.

I may have missed it then. It's not in our newspaper though which is odd.
But you see my point about how bigger problems are put aside because they're nothing to do with places like Britain and the US.

It's just like the stories about Madelaine McCann and Amanda Todd, children get abducted all of the time, people commit suicide all of the time and yet these two get a huge place in the news and most other people get fuck all.
