yes well in most bigger settlements there is usually a couple of old coldwar bunkers. MY school had one too. problem is, these bunkers won't be able to accommodate even half of the citizens. ans since I'm a country bo there is noway I'll make it into town fast enough to find a shelter:D Just have to hope the fallout would "go away" with the winds.

No i wouldn't want it in the US because we have enough games in the states and i just know that America would win and Russia would be the big evil nasty guys or most Americans would have a hissy fit and go all patriotic.

In a metro-styled amreica I highly doubt they would have the capability to continue a war with russia in postapocalyptica

HaHaHa, very true. We can safely assume Soviet Russia, and its sattelite communist states (East Germany, Latvia, Yugslavia, Bulgaria, Romania and so on) would launch a massive counter-strike... During the soviet years they would have been more than capable of fighting after the bombs had dropped. i'm thinking Last Light will reveal a little more about the nuclear strike, as we don't know who launched the missiles anyway... The live action film shows it to be an unexpected attack.

(i cant remember if the book states who it was, and i havnt read 2034)

The US? China? North Korea? The UK? Israel? One of the middle eastern countries? After a war like that do "sides" really still matter?

American metro? Sounds really, REALLY, REALLY boring and uninteresting, and im American. The metro map in battlefield 3 is why i didn't buy it btw, last thing i want to do is play in a setting that look like the same old boring urban landscape (although much nicer than where i live). A bunch of boring looking walls with advertisements everywhere.

Thanks for pointing that out mate, my mistake. There was the period under Tito..? It was socialist state though, and although Metro 2034 seems to extend the cold war period into a fictional future, we don't really know how things stand outside of Moscow... Whether there is still an axis of soviet states or not.
