Well, here's one of my sketches from when I first began drawing (February 2011), and it's not too good, but within 10 months, I improved a lot! And I have only ever had one drawing class (which wasn't actually very good). So what I'm saying is: if you want to, you can learn to draw by yourself. Just practice a lot, look at other people's art, ask for advice (on dA or other art sites), and do not give up! And always use a reference when you are beginning (look for guides about body proportions, etc).

Oh, and Boris: excellent work! It was so clean I thought it was done on a computer! :) And Ghost, I'm working on it. I'll try to do a coloured version. :D

Here is what im working on. Not the best but i try. Pencil sketched and im trying to experiment with different textures.
PS. the dark spots on the white are not actually there, the scanner does this to any picture i put through it.

    :D

    Pretty good. Landscapes are hard!

There are a few points when drawing: get the basic shape down (just in very light pencil) and add the details later. This is a real pain at the beginning, but it's a must. Another thing is contrast: having a mixture of light and dark areas creates interest. And lastly: do not have overly large areas with little change in tone. Keep these in mind, and you will be epic! :)

Awsome :D. Ya i started the whole thing with a very light pencil shade and got the whole idea. Overran the whole thing with a darker shade and began with the tree in the middle. Ill add detail later on. And yeah this is like my first time drawing a REAL landscape. Its hard! hahaha

Ah, so you're drawing from life? Awesome! Yeah, landscapes are quite hard with pencil especially, since the small size makes large strokes/patches hard to do. But it's looking good, definitely! You can also use an eraser to add highlights, maybe where the sun hits the grass (you know how long grass has "waves" when it's windy), or maybe there is a small hollow in the hillside. Well, I await the finished product! :)

yes im going to make sure that when im overall finished with the peice that i make texture changes to identify the sun and its impact on the landscape.

btw. i drew a picture (pencil sketched and shaded) that is kinda like ur art on deviantart.com. Humans i mean. If u want i can post it on and see hpow you guys like it. Again, not the best art but it was really fun to sketch it and took me about 2 or so hours.

Hey, man, do it! Getting it down on paper is a start. No artist ever began as a pro, and I'll give you some tips (if you even need them!) :D Keen to see it!

here it is. I tried to shade in instead of leaving the whole image blank. I noticed that you, von, add little stories with ur images. If ya want to u can do the same with mine. Again not the best picture. But was fun to sketch out in bed in a hour or two. Im prob gonna sketch some more fictional humans. You inspired me with your drawings Von!! :) :D

    WHOA!
Ghost, maybe you should have attached the Image instead so it would be little bit smaller?? xD

Anyway, these pics are really nice. Wish I could draw so good, but by some reason, drawing is the only thing Im impatient on. I mean I wanna get good NOW, not in 3 weeks.... ;D

I like seeing people's sketches, so Im mostly trying to make some myself, and thereby made a speed painting (about 10-20min probs) with deviantArt's program called dA Muro. It's really neat although some tools cost a bit ^^
And I didnt buy any of the tools to make this one. And yea It's a bit of a mess but, try and guess what it is (it's also a fictional landscap, made up in my mind) ;)

This is excellent! You have the correct proportions for the figure, nothing is out of place. The cloth might be improved, but that is a skill which will come with time, and can always be improved, always! Overall, this is a lot better than I expected, seriously! :) I hope you keep drawing, because your artwork is good.

Speed paint is actually a lot more difficult than some people would think. Good to see your stuff, Thuner! :D

Here is another of my sketched of a person. Just decided to sketch this out really quickly. I didnt really focus on shading here. But just lightly went over some spots with my pencil to make it kinda "3-D" ish. Then i smoothed it out with my finger. Not the best but i really enjoyed sketching this out. Hopefully i can get better over winter and really get into this type of art. Pencil sketching, landscape, and graffiti style art is what i like :p
btw. i totally messed up on the shoes, and shoes are actually my weakness. i can never get the right angle for a shoe. Von or anybody else, ig u give me any advice or tips they will be greatly appreciated.

The angle on the face is good! Shoes (and hands) are the curse of the artist. Hands especially! It just takes practice, I still have a lot of hassles with shoes, and I haven't even tried bare feet yet! :) Overall, his face is very good, it has expression and distinguishing features. The only other comment I can give is the cloth again. But, as with shoes, time and observation will fix those. :) I am impressed!

Oh, and guns are hard to draw, seriously! I know one epic artist who can draw awesomely, but hates drawing guns. Ha ha! Man, I'm loving the art here, though, nice work! Now lets get some Metro going! :D

I love to draw and work with a tablet and photoshop, but I have a lot of unfinished pieces because lack of motivation, I'm lazy, and school. I should draw some metro related pieces in the future, would be nice.

I didn't want to attach the image because it was to large.
