The End, literally.

Yeah, enderman EXP grinders for the win! I remember grinding so much for hours on end, to reach that level 50. Once I spent hours doing that, then once I got to the enchanting table it took me another half an hour to enchant my diamond sword at level 50.

The people at Mojang (including Notch) thought that players needed something to latch onto, something that they could relate to that would be the ending scenes of the game. Therefore they created 'The End', just to satisfy their players.

It's technically not the end, because it changes nothing about the game after you complete it (still a sandbox game), but it's a great edition. The Ender Dragon is a great (and hard) boss, so it's a challenge to get through him. I personally find it to be pretty fun, even though it's not a 'big deal'.

It was an interesting addition and a friend and I messed around spawning the Ender Dragon in the main world we had. The ender dragon kind of wrecked everything woops!

Agreed. I don't even get why they really did it. I mean, I guess people were clamoring for an 'end' to the game so they just cobbled it together, but if you're going to bow to fan's demands, why would you not put the time and effort into making it good?

To be honest I think the game is fine the way it is but I do think that the current "end" was just sort of thrown together and needs improvement to really be worth my time.

It's nice to have some kind of "closure" to your adventure but I also think it's unnecessary. The "ending" was disappointing to say the least. I'd rather they introduce something like a way to craft my own ending.

The End was fine. I consider it more of another world, albeit a tiny one. The "ending" of the game is nothing special, and that's fine with me. We all know that Minecraft isn't supposed to end because there's absolutely no objective or purpose to the game whatsoever.

In my opinion, there shouldn't be any end. There shouldn't be any The End. There should be more dimensions, containing some bosses like The Ender Dragon so that you can XP grind, but to have some sort of ambiguous ending containing some half-assed boss and then continue the game like nothing happened is completely ridiculous. If you're going to do an ending and expect us to continue our sandbox game, then create a new world that resembles an adventure, defeat some climatic boss and then get teleported back to our world and then create some next stage of our sandbox. Add new items that we can unlock and maybe that will motivate us to go to dimensions like The End, because it takes a lot of effort to go to The End. For what? 100 XP? Great.

I don't like the idea of an end for a game that is supposed to be infinite. A boss fight is fine, but a credit screen is ridiculous and over the top for Minecraft. For a game like Terraria, which is meant to have RPG elements, I'd say that'd be fine, but Minecraft is not supposed to have RPG elements so I disagree with this entire concept.

I kind of wish the ending boss was a little more of a challenge and they don't really tell you as to why you have to go to the end and kill a dragon. It's just like "Well I kind of want this world to end, to the end!" It didn't feel like I was destined to do so. I have only gone twice in my entire life, once alone and once with friends. Once you see it, that is all there is to it.

That's a really really good idea. It reminds me of Civilization where you build a science victory, or something similar to that. Jeez I wish you would have been a developer for Minecraft before they made the ending they did!

I would love to see more things added to The End just because it seems to lack a bit.. Maybe a couple different mobs, different structures.. I think it would benefit from something of that nature.

I feel like a game about survival shouldn't have an end boss. The goal should be survival and once you accomplish that you move on to make survival easier and easier until you find yourself making a mansion larger than the whitehouse overlooking the peasant NPC village below.

I'm glad that the game never actually has an ending. I'm happy I'm free to do whatever I want for how long I want.

Its not really "The End" of the game it just is saying that you probably achieved a lot of things. If you really wanted too add mods like Mo' Creatures or something like that.

The end really didn't seem appropriate, as a few people previously stated. It just didn't fit in with the concept of Minecraft at all, and while dragons are pretty cool you can't just throw something in such a popular game and hope people wouldn't notice. They really need to make that like some sort of side-instance, more of a bonus feature than something that's supposedly "The End" of Minecraft.

SPOILERS! I haven't met the final boss yet but from what I just read from half of you maybe I'll just stay in the regular world if it really is that bad. I dunno since I get bored easily. We'll see where I go from here.
